[OVERVIEW]
Mega Venusaur, with its great bulk, can act as a great tank or wall in CAP. It is able to counter common Water-types in the metagame like Rotom-W, Krilowatt, Keldeo, Manaphy lacking Psychic, and Azumarill due to its typing. Its Poison typing also allows it to check Fairy-types like Mega Diancie and Mega Altaria, to get rid of Toxic Spikes, and hit common switch-ins like Charizard, Tomohawk, Aurumoth, and Talonflame hard with Sludge Bomb. Mega Venusaur's ability Thick Fat removes two of its prominent weaknesses, allowing it to switch into weaker Fire- and Ice-type moves. Mega Venusaur also beats common defensive walls such as Cyclohm, Pyroak, and Clefable, outspeeding and hitting the latter two super effectively with Sludge Bomb. Furthermore, Mega Venusaur's access to Synthesis lets it stay healthy throughout the match. Finally, Mega Venusaur deals with rain teams well because it is able to shrug off rain-boosted attacks like Hydro Pump and Thunder and can heal off damage with Giga Drain.

However, Mega Venusaur is weak to the ever-present Flying- and Psychic-types, like Talonflame, Tornadus-T, and Aurumoth. While its Speed is decent, it leaves Mega Venusaur outsped by many threats, including said Flying- and Psychic-types. Additionally, Mega Venusaur cannot deal with special walls aside from hitting them with Knock Off. To make things worse, it cannot hold Leftovers for passive recovery, and its Synthesis is weakened in rain and sandstorm.

Synthesis gives Mega Venusaur reliable recovery, one key factor to its effectiveness. Giga Drain hits common Water-types, 2HKOing Rotom-W, Manaphy, and Krilowatt and having a small chance to OHKO Keldeo and Azumarill; Rock-types, OHKOing Mega Diancie after Stealth Rock and OHKOing Stratagem; and Ground-types, having a chance to 2HKO Colossoil. It also provides Mega Venusaur with semi-reliable recovery. Sludge Bomb 2HKOes common switch-ins like Mega Charizard X, Aurumoth, Life Orb Tornadus-T, and Talonflame as well as 2HKOing Mega Charizard Y, Volkraken, and Tomohawk after a bit of prior damage. It also hits prominent walls hard, 2HKOing Pyroak and Cyclohm and having a chance to OHKO Clefable. Hidden Power Fire rounds out Mega Venusaur's coverage, hitting Steel-types super effectively. It has an 81% chance to knock out standard Cawmodore after Belly Drum and Sitrus Berry recovery, achieves the 2HKO on Scizor and Ferrothorn, and nets the 3HKO on Kitsunoh, Choice Scarf Jirachi, and Mega Metagross. Knock Off can be used to remove Tornadus-T's Assault Vest and Chansey's Eviolite and damages Psychic-type switch-ins like Aurumoth and Latios, but it leaves Mega Venusaur horribly walled by Cawmodore, Scizor, and Ferrothorn.

20 Speed EVs let Mega Venusaur outspeed Adamant maximum Speed Azumarill before it can OHKO Mega Venusaur with a +6 Play Rough. However, only 16 Speed EVs are required to hit this benchmark if you're not using Hidden Power Fire. 252 Special Attack EVs and a Modest nature maximize Mega Venusaur's Special Attack stat, letting it pummel its foes with Giga Drain and Sludge Bomb. Running 232 HP EVs maximizes Mega Venusaur's recovery from Synthesis while also reducing damage from Stealth Rock and Spikes. Chlorophyll is used for rare circumstances where sun is up, as it doubles Mega Venusaur's Speed on the turn it Mega Evolves. Even though Chlorophyll won't see much usage, Overgrow is completely useless, as Venusaur will want to Mega Evolve before it is at low health.

Usage Tips
========

Venusaur should Mega Evolve as soon as possible, as its base forme has lower defenses and doesn't have Thick Fat. Switch into resisted hits or into moves to which Mega Venusaur is immune, such as Spore, Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, and Toxic. Use Giga Drain when Mega Venusaur needs the extra health while maintaining offensive pressure. Use Sludge Bomb if you predict the opponent to switch into a Pokemon that resists Grass, such as Charizard, Tomohawk, or Aurumoth. However, use Hidden Power Fire if it's a Steel-type switch-in, such as Ferrothorn or Scizor. Mega Venusaur does not appreciate residual damage, so it needs to avoid burns. Additionally, it can be worn down easily, especially on the switch, so try to keep its HP up at all times.

Team Options
========

Heal Bell users like Cyclohm, Clefable, and Chansey can remove burns, which otherwise wear down Mega Venusaur and compromise its bulk. Spinners such as Tomohawk and Colossoil and Defoggers such as Scizor, Latios, and Skarmory are helpful to clear entry hazards off the field, which can wear down Mega Venusaur over the course of a match. Mega Venusaur appreciates teammates that resist Flying-type moves like Cyclohm, Krilowatt, Rotom-W, Heatran, and Skarmory as well as teammates that resist or are immune to Psychic-type moves like Heatran, Skarmory, Slowbro, and Colossoil. They appreciate Mega Venusaur's resistances to Fighting-, Water-, Electric-, and Grass-type moves. Strong physical attackers like Colossoil, Azumarill, and Scizor can take out specially bulky Pokemon like Chansey. Additionally, Scizor can remove Kyurem-B, which can bypass Mega Venusaur's Thick Fat with Teravolt and threaten it with Ice Beam. Pivots like Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, Colossoil, Scizor, and Rotom-W help Mega Venusaur switch in safely to get a free turn to use Synthesis. Pursuit trappers like Bisharp, Colossoil, and Tyranitar can remove Psychic-types; in return, Mega Venusaur can tank the Fighting-, Ground-, Grass-, Water-, and Fairy-type moves aimed towards them.

Moves

Synthesis heals 50% of Mega Venusaur's HP, which allows it to heal after taking powerful hits. Giga Drain provides Mega Venusaur with semi-reliable recovery, 2HKOing common Water-types like Rotom-W, Keldeo, Azumarill, Manaphy, and Krilowatt; 2HKOing Rock-types like Mega Diancie and Stratagem; and 3HKOing Colossoil. Sludge Bomb is Mega Venusaur's most powerful Poison-type move and, due to the lack of Special Attack investment, is used mostly to check Fairy-types like Clefable and Sylveon and Grass-types like Necturna, Pyroak, and Breloom, as well as 3HKOing Cyclohm. Hidden Power Fire is the preferred option in the last moveslot, as it 3HKOes Leftovers Ferrothorn and 2HKOes Scizor, as well as generally hitting Steel-types hard. Knock Off is another good option, as it removes items from Mega Venusaur's switch-ins, such as Mollux's Choice Scarf, Tornadus-T's Assault Vest, and Talonflame's Sharp Beak; punishes Psychic-types like Aurumoth and Latios; and wears down opposing walls. Leech Seed is also an option to wear down checks such as Heatran and Mollux and provide extra recovery for Mega Venusaur.

Set Details
========

20 Speed EVs are needed to outspeed Adamant maximum Speed Azumarill, as it could otherwise 2HKO Mega Venusaur with a +6 Play Rough. Only 16 Speed EVs are required if not using Hidden Power Fire, though. Running 248 HP EVs maximizes Mega Venusaur's HP stat while minimizing Stealth Rock damage. 96 Special Defense EVs and a Calm nature let Mega Venusaur tank an Analytic Fire Blast followed by a non-Analytic Fire Blast from Choice Scarf Volkraken and heal off the damage taken. The 144 remaining EVs are invested into Defense to help Mega Venusaur tank physical hits better. Since Overgrow is completely useless, Chlorophyll is the preferred ability, which doubles Mega Venusaur's Speed for one turn in sun.

Usage Tips
========

Defensive Mega Venusaur acts as a great wall and pivot; it can switch in, heal off damage, and force switches for its teammates. It can easily switch into Krilowatt, Rotom-W, Azumarill, Keldeo, Manaphy lacking Psychic, and Mega Diancie and fight back with Giga Drain; Mega Venusaur can also switch into Sylveon and hit back with Sludge Bomb. Giga Drain should be used as much as possible, as Mega Venusaur needs the recovery, while Sludge Bomb is mainly used to hit a Grass-, Flying-, Dragon-, or Fairy-type. Hidden Power Fire should be used to hit a Steel-type that's switching in, unless it's Heatran.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard removers like Skarmory, Scizor, Colossoil, and Tomohawk can rid the field of Stealth Rock, which Mega Venusaur does not like; Skarmory in particular appreciates Mega Venusaur's resistance to Electric-type moves and can take on some of Mega Venusaur's weaknesses in return. Heal Bell users such as Cyclohm, Clefable, and Chansey alleviate stray burns, which wear down Mega Venusaur a lot due to its lack of passive recovery. Colossoil and other Dark-types deal with incoming Psychic-types, while Mega Venusaur can check Fighting- and Fairy-types that give them trouble. Ground-types like Colossoil and Garchomp are helpful to eliminate Heatran, one of Mega Venusaur's counters, while Mega Venusaur can absorb Grass- and Water-type moves for them. Flying-types give Mega Venusaur problems, so Cyclohm and other physical walls that resist Flying-type moves are great teammates. Pivots like Tornadus-T, Rotom-W, Colossoil, and Scizor can be used to help Mega Venusaur switch in more easily when it is low on health and needs a chance to use Synthesis safely.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Earthquake hits Heatran, Mollux, and Plasmanta super effectively, which would otherwise wall Mega Venusaur. Sleep Powder can cripple a switch-in, but Mega Venusaur has a hard time finding a moveslot for it because it would rather run its STAB moves, Hidden Power Fire as a coverage move, and Synthesis for reliable recovery. Venusaur can run a Chlorophyll sweeper set with Life Orb and Growth; in this case, Mega Charizard Y and Sunny Day Tomohawk make for great teammates. However, a Chorophyll sweeper set is not the best because Venusaur's damage output is mediocre, and it has a hard time setting up.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Flying-types**: Flying-types like Talonflame, Tomohawk, Tornadus-T, and Cawmodore annihilate Mega Venusaur with their STAB moves, although Sludge Bomb or Hidden Power Fire can damage them on the switch.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types like Aurumoth, Latios, Latias, and Mega Gardevoir also destroy Mega Venusaur with their STAB moves. However, Sludge Bomb can damage these Pokemon on the switch, especially Mega Gardevoir.

**Fire-types**: Despite Mega Venusaur's Thick Fat, hard-hitting STAB Fire-type attacks, such as sun-boosted Fire Blast from Mega Charizard Y, Flare Blitz from Mega Charizard X, and Fire Blast from Volkraken, can knock it down quickly, though these Pokemon should be aware of the possible Sludge Bomb or Sleep Powder when switching in. Heatran and Mollux wall Mega Venusaur unless it runs Earthquake.

**Special Walls**: Aside from Knock Off, Chansey and specially defensive Jirachi can take anything that Mega Venusaur throws at it and stall out Synthesis PP with their own recovery as well as Seismic Toss and Iron Head, respectively.

**Kyurem-B**: Teravolt nullifies Thick Fat, which makes Ice Beam super effective on Mega Venusaur. Kyurem-B can always 2HKO Mega Venusaur with Ice Beam as well as OHKO offensive variants with Stealth Rock up, while Mega Venusaur can only 3HKO it at best with Sludge Bomb.

Overview
- Mention its Fairy resistance, very helpful as it deals with threats like Mega Altaria and Mega Diancie quite nicely.

Offensive Set Details
- Mention that only 16 EVs in Speed are required without HP Fire
- Jolly Azu isn't relevant enough to warrant a mention, especially considering this cuts into Mega Venu's bulk a lot.
- The 4 leftover EVs generally don't need to be mentioned unless they serve a specific purpose (shifted over from HP so it takes reduced entry hazard damage, which you already covered).
- Give Chlorophyll a brief explanation (can take advantage of doubled Speed in niche scenarios, whereas Overgrow is entirely useless)

Defensive Tank
- Change the EV spread to 248 HP / 144 Def / 96 SpD / 20 Spe and the nature to Calm. This nets it two extra points in Defense while hitting the exact same Speed/Special Defense benchmarks (update Set Details accordingly)
- Brief Chlorophyll mention in Set Details.
- In Team Options, provide examples of Heal Bell users.

Other Options
- Mention Mollux along with Heatran.
- SD + Power Whip/EQ can probably be removed. I don't see much reason to run it, especially with Tomohawk being as common as it is.

Implement this stuff and it's QC 1/3

You don't need to include the actual calcs, just use language like "2hkoed w/ rocks" 2hkoed/ohkoed with some prior damage" "guaranteed 2hko/ohko", etc.
- Giga Drain hits common Water-types, 2HKOing Rotom-W(79.8 - 95%) and Krilowatt(74.7 - 88.2%) and having a small chance to OHKO Keldeo(87.3 - 102.7%) and Azumarill(87.3 - 102.7% but Sludge Bomb OHKOs), hits Rock-types, almost OHKOing Mega-Diancie and OHKOing Stratagem, and Ground-types like Colossoil for a chance to 2HKO and provides Mega Venusaur with semi-reliable recovery
- Sludge Bomb hits common switch-ins like Charizard and Tomohawk for about 50% and Aurumoth and Talonflame for about 75%. It also hits prominent walls hard, 2HKOing Pyroak and Cyclohm and having the chance to OHKO Clefable
- Hidden Power Fire rounds out coverage, hitting Steel-types supereffectively. It has an 81% chance to knock out standard Cawmodore after Belly Drum, it achieves the 2HKO on all common Scizor sets and Ferrothorn, and it nets the 3HKO on Kitsunoh, Scarf Jirachi, and Mega-Metagross
- Knock Off can be used to remove items from Steel-types and Chansey, but it leaves Mega Venusaur horribly walled by Cawmodore and Scizor Also helps rack up damage on Psychic-type switchins.

- Mega Evolve as soon as possible. Venusaur's base forme has weaker defenses and doesn't have Thick Fat
- Switch into resisted hits or into moves to which it's immune, such as Spore, Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, and Toxic
- Giga Drain is usually the best choice of moves due to its recovery Phrasing weird for a usage tip, sounds like it belongs in Moves. Reword to something along the lines of "Use Giga Drain when Mega Venusaur's health is waning." I wouldn't say its always the most spammable option since the pick between Giga Drain and Sludge Bomb is pretty situational, i.e. would you want the recovery or the significant damage boost.
- Use Sludge Bomb if you predict the opponent to switch into a type that resists the Grass-type, such as Charizard, Tomohawk, or Aurumoth. However, if it's a Steel-type switch-in, such as Ferrothorn or Scizor, use Hidden Power Fire
- Try not to get burned; Mega Venusaur does not appreciate the residual damage
- Mega Venusaur can be worn down easily, especially on the switch-in. Sometimes its intended checks, like Mega Diancie, can knock out Mega Venusaur

- Mega Venusaur can switch into many more attacks that the offensive set has problems with
Emphasize its use as a wall / pivot. You don't need to mention the offensive set here. Give some examples of Pokemon to switch into and then tie those mentions into the notable targets the moves hit.
- Use Giga Drain as much as possible, as Mega Venusaur needs the recovery
- Use Sludge Bomb to hit a Grass-, Flying-, Dragon-, or Fairy-type
- Use Hidden Power Fire to hit a Steel-type switch in, unless its Heatran
- Although this set switches into attacks better, it still doesn't like residual damage, so don't switch into Will-O-Wisp, especially from Rotom-W
- This set doesn't hit as hard as the offensive set, so don't expect immense amounts of damage
This isn't really needed if you just emphasize its use as a wall in the first sentence.

Same formatting issues as before. Put Fire-types below Flying-types, maybe even Psychic-types.
Fire-types:
Despite having Thick Fat, hard hitting STAB Fire-type attacks, such as Sun boosted Fire Blast from Mega Charizard Y, Flare Blitz from Mega Charizard X, and Fire Blast from Volkraken can knock down Mega Venusaur quickly. However, Mega Venusaur can use Sludge Bomb or Sleep Powder on the switch. Heatran walls Mega Venusaur unless it runs Earthquake.

Chansey: Aside from Knock Off, Chansey can take anything that Mega Venusaur throws at it and stall out Synthesis PP through Seismic Toss.

Kyurem-B: Teravolt nullifies Thick Fat, so Ice Beam will be super effective. This is pretty barebones, try to expand on it.

(remove space) Sludge Bomb is Mega Venusaur's most powerful Poison-type move and, due to lack of Special Attack investment, is used mostly to check Fairy-types like such as Clefable and Sylveon and Grass-types like such as Necturna, Pyroak, and Breloom, (AC) as well as . (remove period) It also 3HKOings Cyclohm. (remove space) Hidden Power Fire is the preferred option in the last moveslot, (AC) as it 3HKOes Lefotvers Leftovers Ferrothorn and 2HKOes Scizor, (AC) as well as generally hitting Steel-types hard. Knock Off is another good option, (AC) as it removes items from itMega Venusaur's switch ins switch-ins, like such as Mollux's Choice Scarf, Tornadus-T's Assault Vest, and Talonflame's Sharp Beak, punishes PyschicPsychic-types like such as Aurumoth and Latios, and wears down opposing walls. (remove space) Leech Seed is also an option to wears down checks like such as Heatran and provides extra recovery for Mega Venusaur .

20 Speed EVs are needed to outspeed Adamant max sSpeed Azumarill, as it could otherwise 2HKO Mega Venusaur with a +6 Adamant Play Rough 2HKOes Mega Venusaur. (remove space) Only 16 Speed EVs are required if not using Hidden Power Fire, though. (good job switching up this sentence from the other set, I like this)(also remove space) 248 HP EVs maximizes Venusaur's HP stat while minimizing Stealth Rock damage. 96 Special Defense EVs and a Calm nature lets Venusaur tank an Analytic Scarf Fire Blast and followed by a non-Analytic Fire Blast from Volkraken and heal off the damage taken. The 144 remaining EVs are invested into Defense to maximize physical defense help Mega Venusaur tank physical hits better. Since Overgrow is completely useless, Chlorophyll is the preferred ability, which doubles Mega Venusaur's sSpeed for one turn in sun.

Usage Tips
========

Defensive Mega Venusaur acts as a great wall and pivot; it can switch in, heal off damage, and force switches for its teammates. (remove space) It can easily switch into Krilowatt, Rotom-W, Azumarill, Keldeo Manaphy lacking Psychic, and Mega Diancie and fight back with Giga Drain; it Mega Venusaur can also switch into Sylveon and hit back with Sludge Bomb. (remove space) Use Giga Drain as much as possible, as Mega Venusaur needs the recovery, (add comma) while . Use Sludge Bomb is mainly used to hit a Grass-, Flying-, Dragon-, or Fairy-type. Use Hidden Power Fire should be used to hit a Steel-type that's switching in, unless its it's Heatran.

Team Options

(remove space) Heal Bell users, (remove comma) such as Cyclohm, Clefable, and Chansey can alleviate stray burns, which wear down Mega Venusaur a lot due to its lack of passive recovery. (remove space) Colossoil and other Dark-types deal with incoming Psychic-types, while Mega Venusaur can check Fighting- and Fairy-types that give them trouble. Ground-types like such as Colossoil and Garchomp are helpful to eliminate Heatran, one of Mega Venusaur's counters, while Mega Venusaur can absorb Grass- and Water-type moves for them. (remove space) Flying-types give Mega Venusaur problems, so Cyclohm and other physical walls that resist Flying-type moves are great teammates. (remove space) Pivots like such as Tornadus-T, Rotom-W, Colossoil, and Scizor could be used to help Mega Venusaur switch in more easily, (REMOVE COMMA) although the extra bulk mitigates this need when Mega Venusaur is low on health and needs a chance to safely use Synthesis. (I was going to remove this sentence but I looked through the QC posts and found out why pivots are actually good for M-Venusaur. The sentence was really unclear before so I fixed it up a bit)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Earthquake hits Heatran, Mollux, and Plasmanta super(add space here)effectively, whicho would otherwise wall it. Sleep Powder can cripple a switch in switch-in, but Mega Venusaur has a hard time finding a moveslot for it because it would rather run its STAB moves, Hidden Power Fire as a coverage move, and Synthesis for reliable recovery. (remove space) Venusaur's base forme can run a Chlorophyll sweeper set with Life Orb and Growth; (add semicolon) in this case, (add comma) . (remove period) Mega-Charizard-Y and Sunny Day Tomohawk make for great teammates. (remove space) However, a Chorophyll sweeper set is not a particularly good idea because Venusaur's damage output is mediocre and it has a hard time setting up.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Flying-types**: Flying-Types like such as Talonflame, Tomohawk, Tornadus-T, and Cawmodore annihilate Mega Venusaur with their STAB moves, (add comma) although . (remove period) However, Sludge Bomb or Hidden Power Fire (HP Fire does like nothing to these guys) can damage them on the switch in.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types like such as Aurumoth, Latios, Latias, and Mega Gardevoir also destroy Mega Venusaur with their STAB moves. However, Sludge Bomb can damage them chip these Pokemon on them on the switch in switch-in, (add comma) especially Mega Gardevoir.

**Fire-types**: Despite having Thick Fat, hard hitting STAB Fire-type attacks, such as Sun boosted Fire Blast from Mega Charizard Y, Flare Blitz from Mega Charizard X, and Fire Blast from Volkraken can knock down Mega Venusaur quickly, (add comma) though these Pokemon should be aware of the possible . (remove period) However, Mega Venusaur can use Sludge Bomb or Sleep Powder on the when switching in. (remove space) Heatran and Mollux wall Mega Venusaur unless it runs Earthquake.

**Special Walls**: Aside from Knock Off, Chansey and Sspecially Ddefensive Jirachi can take anything that Mega Venusaur throws at it and stall out Synthesis PP through Seismic Toss or Wish with their own recovery as well as Seismic Toss and Iron Head, respectively.

**Kyurem-B**: Teravolt nullifies Thick Fat, which makes Ice Beam super effective. Kyurem-Black can always 2HKO Mega Venusaur with Ice Beam as well as OHKO offensive variants with Stealth Rock up, while Mega Venusaur can only 3HKO it at best with Sludge Bomb.

Okay, a couple things that I saw a lot:
- The term is "switch-ins" or "switch-in", not "switch ins". A good example of when you SHOULD use switch in is "can switch in on Fairy-types" or "can switch into [insert threat]".
- Remember to only put 1, not 2, spaces after your sentences. <<Like this. <<Not like this.
- You should almost always use "such as" instead of "like" when you are giving examples of Pokemon; for example, Flying-types SUCH AS Talonflame and Cawmodor, NOT Flying-types like Talonflame and Cawmodor. You would use "like" when you're comparing one thing to another, such as "Moltres is like Talonflame in that they are both Fire / Flying types." Don't worry, I used to make this mistake a lot too and you'll get it soon enough :D

Overall, good job on the write-up, just try to elaborate on your sentences more. Try to look at your analysis through the eyes of a reader and see if it makes sense and contains enough relevant information but at the same time try not state obvious things. Good job though and hope you have a nice day :)

Rollout Shuckle "like" is not to be exterminated on sight. Maybe this was something people did for years, but that's not the case. When talking about examples, "like" implies there are much more to the list, while "such as" implies that it's exclusive. So both have their uses: it's important for you as an author to know the difference between them and use the correct one in each case. So some of these changes might be correct (as in you should change "like" to "such as") but it's not always that way 100% of the time

for example "Fire-types like Blaziken can easily KO Weedle"
or
"Bulky Water-types such as Kyogre and Palkia can take Groudon's Eruprtion and KO back"

Other than that, please implement the above check snake_rattler

Ok well I wanted to wait until I got an official GP Check (GatoDelFuego) after the amcheck (Rollout Shuckle) before I commented but here we go...

Here are my problems: (I italicized what Rollout Shuckle said to add, while the rest of the bolded text is what he/she said to subtract. I don't know how to )

In the overview, did we really need to have a genocide for the word "it"? I did use "it" too much, but would it be ok if I used the pronoun sometimes?

Rollout Shuckle said:
However, while its Mega Venusaur typing lets it check Water- and Fairy-types and its ability neutralizes its Fire- and Ice- weaknesses does have its unique perks,
I feel like this sentence sums up its unique perks quite well before diving off into its weaknesses. It reminds the reader why one should use Mega Venusaur.

Rollout Shuckle said:

Giga Drain really doesn't hit a lot of common Pokemon in the tier for good damage. All of those Flying-, Fire-types, and Steel-types don't get hit hard with Giga Drain. Instead, I elaborated on what notable 2HKOs and OHKOs it gets. I feel like this information should be there.

This is something I wouldn't be so frustrated with, but I really am. Sure, I know the CAP player-base is really small and not everyone knows that Hidden Power Fire hits Cawmodore (and Skarmory for that matter, I should probably add that). However, I actually said that Hidden Power Fire has a high chance to KO Cawmodore after it sets up in the analysis. I can reword it to make it clearer, but don't tell me to remove Hidden Power Fire when it allows Mega Venusaur to check one of the CAP metagame's top threats.

252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. 24 HP / 0 SpD Aurumoth: 234-276 (63.7 - 75.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

"Chip" isn't the right word; "chip" (to me) means really small bits of damage, like an attack that does maybe 10% or Leech Seed damage. I actually did mean "damage."

Rollout Shuckle said:

While I appreciate the additional information, if I need to shore up a section, let me do it.

I'll implement the rest of the check though; if you would GatoDelFuego, could you check these issues I have? That would be great. Thanks!

Pronouns are ok. As long as you don't use "it" to refer to two different subjects in the same sentence (Mega Venusaur is good. Tornadus is a problem, because its hurricane can OHKO it.), then no reason to remove it.

Implement the revised version for "Mega Venusaur's unique typing perks" etc etc, because we already went over what its typing does previously. No need to repeat again, because the overview is a tad long. However, on all the other changes you brought up here, keep you own versions. I'll check this as soon as I can once these are set!

[OVERVIEW]
Mega Venusaur, with its great bulk, can act as a great tank or wall in CAP. It is able to counter common Water-types in the tier like Rotom-W, Krilowatt, Keldeo, Manaphy lacking Psychic, and Azumarill due to its typing. Being partly a Poison-type also allows it to check Fairy-types like Mega Diancie and Mega Altaria, to get rid of Toxic Spikes, and hit common switch-ins like Charizard, Tomohawk, Aurumoth, and Talonflame hard with Sludge Bomb. Mega Venusaur's ability Thick Fat removes two of its prominent weaknesses, Fire and Ice, which allows it to switch into weaker Fire- and Ice-type moves. Mega Venusaur also beats common defensive walls like such as Cyclohm, Pyroak, and Clefable, outspeeding and hitting the latter two super effectively with Sludge Bomb.

However, while Mega Venusaur does have its unique perks, it is still weak to the ever-present Flying- and Psychic-types, like Talonflame, Tornadus-T, and Aurumoth. While its Speed is decent, it's certainly nothing spectacular and it leaves it Mega Venusaur outsped by many threats, including said Flying- and Psychic-types. Additionally, Mega Venusaur cannot deal with special walls aside from hitting them with Knock Off. To make things worse, it cannot hold Leftovers for passive recovery, and its Synthesis is weakened in rain and sandstorm. Nevertheless, Mega Venusaur is a great choice for balanced teams, especially if you're looking for tanky Pokemon that can take on Water-types and Fairies.

Synthesis gives Mega Venusaur every instance of "Venusaur" should be "Mega Venusaur". I won't point all these out! reliable recovery, one key factor to Venusaur's effectiveness. Giga Drain hits common Water-types, 2HKOing Rotom-W, Manaphy, and Krilowatt and having a small chance to OHKO Keldeo and Azumarill; (SC) hits Rock-types, OHKOing Mega Diancie after Stealth Rock and OHKOing Stratagem; (SC) and Ground-types, (AC) having a chance to 2HKO like Colossoil for a chance to 2HKO. Knock Off can be used to remove Tornadus-T's Assualt Vest and Chansey's Eviolite and damages Psychic-type switch-ins like Aurumoth and Latios, but it leaves Mega Venusaur horribly walled by Cawmodore, Scizor, and Ferrothorn.

20 Speed EVs let Mega Venusaur outspeed Adamant max Speed Azumarill before it can OHKO Mega Venusaur with a +6 Adamant Play Rough. 232 HP EVs maximizes Mega Venusaur's recovery from Synthesis while also reducing damage from Stealth Rock and Spikes. Chlorophyll is used for rare circumstances where sun is up, as it doubles Mega Venusaur's Speed on the turn it Mega Evolves. Even though Chlorophyll won't see much usage, Overgrow is completely useless, (AC) as Venusaur will want to Mega Evolve before it is at low health.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Venusaur should Mega Evolve as soon as possible, as Venusaur's base forme has weaker defenses and doesn't have Thick Fat. Switch into resisted hits or into moves to which Mega Venusaur immune, such as Spore, Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, or Toxic. Use Giga Drain when Mega Venusaur needs the extra health while maintaining offensive pressure. Use Sludge Bomb if you predict the opponent to switch into a type Pokemon that resists Grass, such as Charizard, Tomohawk, or Aurumoth. However, use Hidden Power Fire if it's a Steel-type switch-in, such as Ferrothorn or Scizor. Mega Venusaur does not appreciate residual damage, so it needs to avoid burns. Mega Venusaur can be worn down easily, especially on the switch-in, so try to keep up its HP at all times.
Team Options
========

Switch into resisted hits or into moves to which Mega Venusaur is immune, such as Spore, Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, or and Toxic. Additionally, it Mega Venusaur can be worn down easily, especially on the switch, so try to keep up its HP up at all times.

Team Options
========

Pursuit trappers like Bisharp, Colossoil, and Tyranitar can remove Psychic-types; in return, (AC) Mega Venusaur can tank the Fighting-, Ground-, Grass-, Water-, and Fairy-type moves aimed towards them.

Moves

Synthesis heals 50% of Mega Venusaur's HP, which allows it to heal after taking powerful hits. Giga Drain provides Mega Venusaur with semi-reliable recovery, 2HKOing common Water-types like Rotom-W, Keldeo, Azumarill, Manaphy, and Krilowatt; (ASC) 2HKOing Rock-types like Mega Diancie and Stratagem; (ASC) and 3HKOing Colossoil.

Set Details
========

20 Speed EVs are needed to outspeed Adamant maximum Speed Azumarill, as it could otherwise 2HKO Mega Venusaur with a +6 Adamant Play Rough. Only 16 Speed EVs are required if not using Hidden Power Fire, though. Running 248 HP EVs maximizes Mega Venusaur's HP stat while minimizing Stealth Rock damage. 96 Special Defense EVs and a Calm nature lets let Mega Venusaur tank an Analytic Scarf Fire Blast followed by a non-Analytic Fire Blast from Choice Scarf Volkraken and heal off the damage taken. The 144 remaining EVs are invested into Defense to help Mega Venusaur to tank physical hits better. Since Overgrow is completely useless, Chlorophyll is the preferred ability, which doubles Mega Venusaur's Speed for one turn in sun.

Usage Tips
========

========

Pivots like Tornadus-T, Rotom-W, Colossoil, and Scizor can be used to help Mega Venusaur switch in more easily when it Mega Venusaur is low on health and needs a chance to use Synthesis safely.

Other Options
=============

===================

**Flying-types**: Flying-types like Talonflame, Tomohawk, Tornadus-T, and Cawmodore annihilate Mega Venusaur with their STAB moves, (AC) although Sludge Bomb or Hidden Power Fire can damage them on the switch.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types like Aurumoth, Latios, Latias, and Mega Gardevoir also destroy Mega Venusaur with their STAB moves. However, Sludge Bomb can damage these Pokemon on the switch, especially Mega Gardevoir.

**Fire-types**: Despite Mega Venusaur having Thick Fat, hard-hitting STAB Fire-type attacks, such as sun-boosted Fire Blast from Mega Charizard Y, Flare Blitz from Mega Charizard X, and Fire Blast from Volkraken, (AC) can knock it down Mega Venusaur quickly, though these Pokemon should be aware of the possible Sludge Bomb or Sleep Powder when switching in.

Hey thanks P Squared for the check! Just two things though.

1. In OO, I added that information because cbrevan told me to in QC 2/3:
- Sleep Powder can cripple a switch in, but Mega Venusaur has a hard time finding a moveslot for it Expand on this a little more, competition between STABs, recovery, and coverage.
2. I removed "having" from Fire-type C&C and replaced it with "Mega Venusaur's." Is that good?

p^2 edit: yup, you're good to go
