Victory Garden

Introduction
Hello people of smogon! This is well, uh my first RMT, however I am not new to the competitive scene, despite my smogon join date, I have been lurking since ADV and have always enjoyed the competitive aspect of games, and pokemon is certainly no exception. So after playing the BW2 meta and watching it evolve, It's gotten to the point where the meta had gotten stale for me and I was ready to throw in the towel, but then I saw a UU team with a defensive Shaymin in it, and it got me thinking, what if I brought some really underrated threats in the metagame, and mixed them with a mixed wall Shaymin? And this was the result.

Team Building Process

So I started off with wanting to build a team with some devistating sweepers and threats, while having some bulk, and of course my inspiration from that aforementioned UU battle led me to try a defensive Shaymin.

And of course as many people who know me know, this wouldn't be one of my OU teams without latias (87 of my 127 OU teams have latias counting this one atm) Not only that, but it serves as a back up check to keldeo and handles many threats in this metagame while also being an offensive threat at the same time, It's bulk is what makes me choose it over latios 95% of the time

Now I saw a huge Ice Weakness on my team, and thought "what could patch this up"? And I saw one of my favorite pokemon, Victini, not only does victini serve as a bait and trap for physical walls (you'll see why later) but it also serves as the only current mamoswine CHECK on my team right now, and generally is nice to have for things like Ferrothorn.

Then I saw that I was in SERIOUS need of a physical attacker, and Garchomp fit that role perfectly, able to destroy the most defensive of Celebi, Rotom-W and other annoying special walls between it's RageQuake Dual STAB combo.

Right as I was building this team I noticed I needed a scarfer, and to balance out the physical-special attacker numbers on my team, I decided I needed a physical scarfer, and seeing how this team was built around underrated threats. Something like staraptor seemed very appealing, ESPECIALLY considering how much coverage it gets with just CC as a coverage move alone, it's amazing STAB, and excellent momentum in U-turn.

Now finally I was down to only 1 pokemon left, and I was noticing how lacking in momentum I was, especially for a weatherless team, I decided to use something that can form a good VoltTurn Mini Core with Staraptor, and looking at underrated Volt Switchers I saw this behemoth with 145 special attack and 101 base speed, so I decided to abuse that by slapping some specs onto it and letting go batshit crazy.

Team Team- In Depth

GG well played (Victini) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Victory Star
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Blue Flare
- Glaciate
- Grass Knot
- Focus Blast

Ah this thing, oh boy this Victini. Overall I would have to say usually in a match this victini does the most work done consistently. The main draw of thsi set and why I use it, is to bluff physical and choice depending on what you've revealed so far, you can even bluff both if your good enough, but the main thing about victini is how he puts most physical walls thinking a incoming vcreate is in their way directly in a one way street to the poke center, OHKOing stuff like gliscor thinking they can simply beat out vcreate damage and kill me off only to get glaciated, blue flare, focus blast or grass knoted respectively.
Another big draw is like I said before bluffing choice items, letting me OHKO DD mence, Scarf Outraging mence(no moxie boost yet), DDnite etc thinking I'm locked into blue flare and setting up only to get glaciated and either KOd or 2HKOd with a speed drop included. Overall victini is a excellant member to my team, and is also very important. (The name comes from it being the victory pokemon if you couldn't tell)

Fuk Ferro 2013 (Latias) (F) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Reflect
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Ah Latias, so powerful and threatening yet so lighthearted and curious. Such an odd beast. Latias's main purpose in this team is to hit like a truck and LURE IN FERRO. You may be wondering why but, Ebelt psyshock obviously lures in ferro and fortunately HP fire gets a 3HKO against rain variants, and invalidates non leech seed variants (SR/Spikes/Power Whip/Gyro or whatever set without leech seed) with the use of Reflct + HP Fire, watch out scizor, your not safe either, to deminstrate the power and bulk, let me show you some calcs:
252 SpA Expert Belt Latias Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Scizor in rain: 192-230 (55.97 - 67.05%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Technician Scizor Pursuit vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Latias through Reflect: 118-139 (39.07 - 46.02%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Latias through Reflect: 88-104 (29.13 - 34.43%) -- possible 4HKO

0 Atk Ferrothorn Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Latias through Reflect: 84-99 (27.81 - 32.78%) -- possible 4HKO
252 SpA Expert Belt Latias Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn in rain: 125-149 (35.51 - 42.32%) -- 83.52% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Expert Belt Latias Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 250-298 (71.02 - 84.65%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Better hope you have Rain with ya, you little rascle Ferrothorn.

Yeah, not only that, but when you know your going to die, it's pretty useful to get up a Reflect for your team mates, not only that but Latias is just a really damn good threat to most current OU teams and checks a lot of good OU pokemon atm, including the infamous SDChomp which can annoy my team without this lil' buddy.

Garcedia (Shaymin) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SDef
Calm Nature
- Rest
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power

And here comes the Star of the RMT, Shaymin! Now I mainy chose Shaymin because I was sick and tired of people complaining about MixTar, Keldeo, Scarf Terrak and a bunch of other threats in the OU meta, so I was looking around for bulky waters naturally, however my results there were not pleasing, until I looked around in UU and saw this 600 BST hedgehog of happiness (Yes I did yell "Kawaiii!", don't ask me lol) and after talking to my friend "DreMZ" On Showdown, also known as @The Reptile here on smogon, we found this amazing EV spread that lets you take a TON of hits and proceed to hit the pokemon your facing with seed flare, hp fire or earth power respectively, however I mainly use this to troll Keldeo as they just icy wind or sacred sword with complete ignorance and just watch as their suspect die to a little cute crass hedgehog.
Here are some calcs to prove the infamous quote "SHAYMIN STRONK" true :] :
252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 44+ SpD Shaymin in rain: 191-225 (47.27 - 55.69%) -- 21.48% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 212 Def Shaymin: 169-201 (41.83 - 49.75%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Icy Wind vs. 252 HP / 44+ SpD Shaymin: 158-186 (39.1 - 46.03%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
------------------------
0 SpA Shaymin Seed Flare vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 282-332 (87.3 - 102.78%) -- 18.75% chance to OHKO

4 Atk Tyranitar Crunch vs. 252 HP / 212 Def Shaymin: 91-108 (22.52 - 26.73%) -- possible 5HKO ( OU Mixed/Lead)
252 SpA Tyranitar Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 44+ SpD Shaymin: 184-218 (45.54 - 53.96%) -- 45.31% chance to 2HKO after weather ( OU Mixed/Lead)
---------------------
0 SpA Shaymin Seed Flare vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Tyranitar in sand: 174-206 (43.06 - 50.99%) -- 4.69% chance to 2HKO
0 SpA Shaymin Seed Flare vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tyranitar in sand: 174-206 (51.02 - 60.41%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 212 Def Shaymin: 160-189 (39.6 - 46.78%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 Atk Terrakion X-Scissor vs. 252 HP / 212 Def Shaymin: 144-170 (35.64 - 42.07%) -- 90.16% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Terrakion Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 212 Def Shaymin: 133-157 (32.92 - 38.86%) -- 6.25% chance to 3HKO
-----------------------------
0 SpA Shaymin Seed Flare vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Terrakion: 284-336 (87.65 - 103.7%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
0 SpA Shaymin Seed Flare vs. -1 4 HP / 0 SpD Terrakion: 422-500 (130.24 - 154.32%) -- guaranteed OHKO (After Close Combat)

Staraptor @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Reckless
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Double-Edge
- U-turn

Staraptor definatly has to be one of the most underrated threatening pokemon in the tier, with 120 Attack, Amazing STABs, Reckless, a great 100 speed tier to work with, and amazing coverage in CC. Staraptor's main job on this team is to check important things that can really hurt my team if I don't revenge them, also This is a meta where Normal/Flying/Fighting coverage will hurt most of the meta really hard, so spamming Double Edge, Brave bird and CC is not a bad move at all, U turn is amazing for Momentum and lets me play around things like jirachi by uturning to victini or chomp.

Chomped (Garchomp) @ Choice Band
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
- Fire Fang

Choice Band Garchomp is honestly ONE of THE best physical attackers in the tier. And it certainly doesn't fall short on my team, Garchomp provides natural bulk, raw power, and speed all in one, that and amazing STABs in EQ and Outrage make my STAB and amazing coverage, Fire Fang is for Bulky Grasses, and stone edge is for those bulkier flying types who can take a single outrage, this thing honestly does not dissapoint, especially since it's trolly 102 speed tier outspeeding every dragon in the tier except latias and latios, and it's STAB CB SE outrage is KOing any dragon who dare stands in your way.

** sorry for the small image, it's just that ken sugimori has no "Dream World Art" for Thundurus-T currently
Solid (Thundurus-Therian) (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Specs thundy is often called inferior to specs jolteon, while the extra speed may help, for my team, I call bullshit. First of all Focus Blast lets you muscle through ferrothorn which jolteon can't handle, especially considering ferro is an annoyance to this team, that is important, focus blast also lets it KO mamo on the switch, whereas mamo completely shuts down jolteon. Etc. I could go on, but lets focus on thundy itself, Specs Volt Switch hits like a truck and annoys the other team with momentum, while thunderbolt is just really neat and powerful STAB that is 2HKOing msot switch ins, focus blast is amazing coverage, and HP [Ice] is for obligitory bolt beam coverage. (The name is a refrence to solid snake from Metal Gear as it is an electric snake named solid :L)

The End and PS/PO Importable
THank you all for reading this RMT, and I hope you rate, it, I am really hoping to get feed back on thsi team as it is one of my last and most intresting (imo) BW2 OU teams.

If you want to try this out for yourself, here's an importable, thanks!

I like how you were so adamant about "NO Peaks Yet" lol

Anyways, by the look of your team,it seems pretty solid. I would be mindful of SR though, because three of your Pokemon have trouble with it. You may consider thunder on victini to hit water types that don't weigh that much. On Latias ,you may want to consider a CM variant with leftovers to do exactly the same thing as you are trying to achieve. The boosts from CM will ensure to you are able to get past ferro and Scizor. Other than that, great team.

Yeah, I mainly ladder on PO since PS ladder is more popular and has more scrubs, though PO ladder really isn't fit for large amounts of laddering imo, so I usually get some really terrible plays and lose 2 matches whenever I get a half decent rec.

your shaymin could use a better ev spread since 252 hp / 108 def / 148 sdef with a bold nature yields the same defense stat with two extra points in special defense

Wow man, that's really cool, thanks for the suggestion, though I made some major changes to this team (replaced thundurus and switched staraptor's scarf with chomper's band) since it started that I need to doccument, that is still pretty awesome to know, thanks FLCL! will change the OP to that in a bit

This team is neat, however it has 0 mamoswine switch ins, I mean shaymin can switch in but it doesnt want to take 2 icicle crashes,

252 Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 212 Def Shaymin: 296-351 (73.26 - 86.88%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

After this happens you cannot switch anything into mamoswine at all, and after victini uses vcreate once mammo can come in for free. And literally kill everything on this team. To help with this i would run Rotom wash over Thundurus T simly because Rotom is a much better answer to mamoswine and its less hazard weak as well, It also gains momentum for you and helps with teams relatively large ice weakness. It can also help shaymin sponge water attacks and has good synergy with the rest of the team, bulky attacker spread on the site should work.

Hope this helped

*FYI My victini doesn't run vcreate but yeah.
ai infact was testing rotom w a while ago lol. but bulky attacker does really serve this team well (sorry if i mispell I'm on mobile)

Lol I swear I need to not rate teams at like 3 am, but yeah :[

Another suggestion would be maybe fit Uturn on Victini somewhere so you can escape ttar before he comes in, IE, Uturn as he switches in and gain momentum.
Focus blast is great but its shaky and 252+ SpA Expert Belt Victini Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Tyranitar in sand: 278-331 (68.81 - 81.93%) -- guaranteed 2HKO, So if you fail to do much to him earlier you may lose Vic early game which can be an issue if the opponent has something like Volcarona waiting in the wings.
Also since it can miss and if you do add Rotom wash, you can form a decent volt-turn core with Staraptor who is hard to switch into, Rotom, and Vic solid coverage.
I really do like this team though especially since Shaymin

Just as a note your team is very weak to stealth rock. Latias could be replaced with offensive spinner starmie.
