Switching like we all thought he would into the hefty Hector that all but walls most of Syclla's offence. Atheno is in full on self preservation mode now and relies on some Confusion to keep Hector's strong neutral (aka Enigma avoiding attacks) from hitting home. It holds true the first time and the Lax one does indeed whack himself but since the confusion was only slight the sleeping Pokemon is able to weather a Hydro Pump and hit back with a hard Double Edge attack. Not wanting to take another of those the Tentacruel refreshes the confusion, this time much more severely. And sure enough once again Hector is unable to overcome and even has some residual effects lingering over him for next round. I guess you'd call that a round win for the leader, but it definitely didn't do much to even up the overall picture.

Confused (1a)

Knowing poor Tentacruel was outmatched by the massive Snorlax the tiny yet somehow almost as bulky Actaea is called back onto the field. Well she would have been as bulky had the battle already not worn her down so. Hoping that the Confusion Syclla left lingering will help her out Actaea just blasts with some Thunder, aided in accuracy by Snorlax being so Full. Confusion is nothing to a beast such as Hector however and he hits back much harder with a Double Edge. Sure the recoil hurt himself too but with such a hefty advantage in this match Frosty can afford to be a little reckless. Hector then moves in for the kill by shaking the arena with an Earthquake. Poor Actaea was wildy unsuccessful in trying to Counter the blow, mostly because it just knocked her the hell out...

Much like last time she was on the field, Syclla is left to utilise stalling, avoidance and annoyancve tactics in a battle she doesn't have a massive chance in. Between Diving underwater and forcing Hector to use some resisted Surfs and once again coaxing him into hitting himself with confusion Syclla has avoided the possible high damage that could have come out of this round. Unfortunately Hector is still looking pretty healthy, and with two more Pokemon still waiting in the wings it looks like Syclla's time is running out.

Confused (0a)

Given the confusion tactic has worked so well for Syclla and Atheno to date who could blame him for trying it again. However this time Hector has come prepared for it. After wearing a salty Brine from the Tentacruel Frosty orders his Pokemon to set up a Substitute that completely blocks Syclla's attempts at further confusion. In the mean time Hector is completely willing to harm himself in the cause of victory for his team. First with another Double Edge and then by taking the ultimate sacrifice in the form of Selfdestruct to take Tentacruel out and wrap up a rather emphatic victory for Frosty!

So I had a look at the match, and to no one's surprise I lost... but I had a KO! Yes! And my lovely new Tentacruel got it!

And then I saw Selfdestruct. You bastard.

But seriously, gg Frosty. Never been so outmatched in my life, and I honestly don't think I would have stood a chance even if the opening release had gone more my way. Congrats!
