Kent began his life as a younger brother to Shelby, a worm who lives in a viola. However, Kent was forced to leave his brother, never to return. After experiencing significant physical changes (and possibly a trip through a time machine), he found Mowtom, and the two bonded quite well.

Rebble [Pebbles] (-)

When Mowtom came across Pebbles playing with a young Mollux, he was shocked to discover that neither species was in his Pokedex. The Mollux ran away before Mowtom could observe it, but Pebbles was just as interested in Mowtom as Mowtom was in it. A partnership quickly formed between them.

Types: Rock​
  • Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Protect, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.
Abilities:
Levitate / Technician / Mold Breaker (H)​
  • This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit.
  • This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their one-hit or two-hit attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power on each hit multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, Double Hit to from 4 per hit to 6 per hit etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack that has its BAP increased by Technician is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Technician only applies to combos in the rare case that an initial hit will have 6 or less BAP.

It's the beginning of the first round, and both battlers are eager to win. Pebbles starts the round off by blowing a Technician boosted Ominous Wind at Mime Jr., but the blow was softened by Filter. Froakie then launches a powerful Hydro Pump at Pebbles, who is then Taunted by Mime Jr.. Kent then rams Mime Jr. with a Megahorn, and Pebbles slams Mime Jr. with its Power Gem, but is promptly hit with Scalding water by Froakie. Mime Jr. then erects a Reflective barrier to further soften the Poison Jab from Kent. Mime Jr. then lends a Helping Hand to Froakie as Pebbles hits him with an Ominous Wind. Froakie then demolishes Pebbles with an earth shattering, Helping Hand boosted Hyper Pump, knocking out the defenseless Rebble. WeatherOfChoice has taken first blood with some clever sub abuse and a stupidly storng Helping Hand combo, but will hebe able to keep the advantage now that Mime Jr. is on low health and Froakie has to cooldown? Will the full health Karrablast be able to make a comeback?

"I would like to quote the Substitution discussion thread here..."
Regarding Illegal Substitutions. We know that if a substitution calls for an illegal move, it is to be discarded. But what happens with said illegality is due to a move used on that same round? If the opponent forced the illegality?

For example, if you have:
Ampharos: Thunder - Thunderbolt - Thunder
IF Aerodactyl is flying up high THEN Thunder

Aerodactyl is faster and uses:

Aerodactyl: Torment - Fly - Fly

By A2, Ampharos is tormented and can't use Thunder, so the substitution called for an illegal action. But at the begining of the round the substitution was legal. "Abusable" but legal.

The handbook doesn't specify what happens in that case, which means that the general rule (illegal = discarded) is to be applied. But on everyday matches that is not the case, with everybody using "AND not taunted" "AND not under torment" "AND X isn't disabled" in every single sub.

Personally I feel that the general rule should be applied. First because I see no reason for the exception and second because a IF X AND not taunted AND not tormented AND not imprisoned AND not disabled AND ... sub gets long easily and this would make subs shorter by default, which I find nice. At least easier to ref/understand etc.

What do you guys think about it?

Round 2! Mime Jr. prevents Kent from committing suicide (or struggling) with a timely Fake Out flinch while Froakie Cools Down. Froakie then envelops Kent with a blast of Scalding water, which manages to Burn the poor Karrablast. Mime Jr. then gets a Psyshic in on Kent before he's knocked out by his X-Scissor. Froakie and Kent then throw some high Base Power moves around, but Froakie's Hydro Pump manages to out damage Kent's Megahorn significantly. The next round will be the last one (probably), but will Kent be able to take down his amphibian aggressor before succumbing to his injuries?
