Overview
########
Pros:
  • Excellent base 120 base defence
  • Good supportive movepool
  • Decent offensive stats so it is not a passive wall
  • Decent defensive typing
  • Able to stallbreak with taunt
Cons:
  • Mediocre Hp and Special defence stat
  • Pretty slow
  • No access to reliable recovery
  • Status is annoying

Moves
========

  • Will-o-wisp to punish physical attackers.
  • Pain Split to have some form of recovery while damaging the opposing pokemon.
  • Sludge bomb for a reliable, strong stab. Fire blast to deal heavy damage to steels. Flamethrower is an alternative, but it its much weaker in comparison.
  • Toxic Spikes to gradually weak down the opponent's team.

Set Details
========
  • A bold nature and max hp and defence are chosen to maximize physical bulk to be able to take on fighting types easily with 4 in spa to hit slightly harder with an attacking move
  • Black Sludge for gradual recovery

Usage Tips
========

  • Use weezing as a bulky pivot that switches into powerful physical moves like Mienshao's High Jump Kick and Mega Beedrill's Poison Jab
  • Use Pain Split if hp is low.
  • Use Will-O-Wisp frequently to cripple the opposing team and rack up passive damage
  • Fits decently on balanced/stall teams

Team Options
========

  • Clerics l
  • Dark types
Bulky Taunt
########
name: Bulky Taunt
move 1:Taunt
move 2:Willowisp
move 3:pain split
move 4:Sludge bomb/ fire blast/ flamethrower
ability:Leviate
item:Black sludge
evs:252 hp /124 def /132 spe

Moves
========

  • taunt is a cool move which allows it to beat other walls
  • willowisp to check physical attackers easily
  • pain split as a semi-reliable form of recovery
  • sludge bomb for reliable stab
  • Fire blast to hit steels for good damage flamethrower does this as well but it is weaker

Set Details
========
  • the evs are to outspeed 0 speed nidoqueen while retaining a large amount of bulk with a bold nature to buff its already good defence

Usage Tips
========

  • This set is to be used as a physical wall/pivot and also a stallbreaker
  • it has a good match up against many walls such as blissey and chesnaught as it prevents them from recovering any health and stealing their health so you come out on top.

Team Options
========

  • Cleric support from stuff like florges is always appreciated to heal back its health.
  • set up sweepers like feraligatr appreciate weezing's ability to easily beat walls and weakening the opponent's team with status and direct damage

Other Options
########

  • haze to annoy set up sweepers
  • memento to provide set up opportunities
  • toxic but it conflicts with willo and toxic spikes as another status spreading move
  • explosion to deal decent damage while getting a teammate in for free

Checks & Counters
########

  • psychic types like alakazam effortlessly defeat weezing
  • passive damage annoys it as it does not have a reliable source of recovery
  • faster taunt users are a pain

The True Prophet :

A few things to address

Instead of including a Taunt set, I would instead slash Taunt somewhere in the first set, since the two sets have way too much in common. After chatting with Dodmen and a few others, we came up with the optimal set that's been seen most often on Weezing and basically falls along these lines:

Defensive Wall
########
name: Defensive wall
move 1: Toxic Spikes
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Will-o-Wisp / Flamethrower
move 4: Pain Split / Taunt / Haze
ability: Leviate
item: Black Sludge
evs: 252 hp / 252 def / 4 spa
nature: Bold

In set details, you can mention any alternate EV spreads that Weezing may opt to run with Taunt, but the EV spread outspeeding 0 speed Nidoqueen is a definite no-no because almost every Nidoqueen is running speed nowadays to outspeed stuff like Honchkrow, Gligar, etc.

We decided that Fire Blast should be moved to OO, because lack of PP is generally too much of a disadvantage for something that's supposed to wall stuff, and the things that it damages more heavily (Heracross and Chesnaught, especially) generally lose to Weezing 1v1 anyways,,

For Psychic types, I think Reuniclus would represent a much better Psychic-type because it gives absolutely no shits about whatever status Weezing wants to throw at it.

I would also add "Other Strong Special Attackers" like Chandelure into the list of Checks and Counters, as (obviously) they pick on Weezing's lower Special bulk and Weezing generally can't do much back to them.

There's probably a bunch of other things that need to get fixed, but this should be sufficient for now. Sorry this was kinda overdue

Will QC once implemented
