Whaa... A hail team?!

(Disclaimer: Doing this at 3:14 AM so ignore my spelling and grammer errors and my lack of details XD Sorry about that)

I love ice! and hail is an obvious pick up yea? :D
This is my first real attempt to make a solid team and to refine it and all that fun jazz so be kind ^^

[pimg]465[/pimg]
ObamaSnow @ Choice Scarf @ Naive Nature
252 SpA/252spe/4hp
|Snow Warning|

Blizzard
Protect
Grass knot
Wood Hammer

Obvious reasons why I use Abomasnow, Hail starter, SpA Sweep, and Blizzard... Duh? :P I see people go for a more sturdy build with leech seed but I find that is hard to use since he has so many weaknesses. This build does leave him weak to a lot of Priority attacks but in most cases you will switch him out if someone like Scizor shows up.

[pimg]381[/pimg]
Loops @ Expert Belt @ Timid
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
| Levitate |

Surf
HP Fire
Dragon Pulse
Roost / Calm Mind

Latios is the newest member of the team and everything about his is still up for debate. Current build is mainly for coverage and helps a lot against sunny Day teams. Dragon Pulse is a good STAB, Surf helps with Ninetales and mainly Heatren, HP fire deals the venasaurs of the world. Roost has yet to be very affective on this team and it may be replaced with calm mind. He takes leaf storms and sizor pretty effectively I have found. But like i said this is still a big work in progress and hes new ^^ On a side note I have been told heatren is a better choice for this spot but I have yet to test that out.

[pimg]478[/pimg]
Hornzlie @ Focus Sash @ Adamant
120 Atk/ 132 SpD/ 252 Spe / 4 hp
| Thick Fat |

Earthquake
Ice Shard
Stealth Rocks / Stone Edge?
Endeavor

Great revenge killer and helps with the heatrens of the world. Unless I am remembering wrong he 2HKOs heatren and focus sash makes that possible. I don't know what else I can say about this guy but he has done wonders for me. One of the super stars! I was thinking about removing the SpD eves and putting it in attack but im not sure and have yet to play test it. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.

[pimg]59[/pimg]
Jimmy @ Life Orb @ Jolly
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4hp
| Flash Fire |

Flair Blitz
Wild Charge
Extreme Speed
Close Combat

He has been a fun pick. A suicide bomber specialist. Nuff said.

[pimg]91[/pimg]
Clammy the Clam @ White Herb @ Adamant
252 Hp/ 252 Atk/ 4 Spe
| Skill Link |

Icicle Spear
Rock Blast
Shell Smash
Rapid Spin

Shell smash into Icicle Spear or Rock Blast and if anyone ever lets me get two shell smashes off its almost a sweep unless lucario comes out :( He is the panic button spike spinner and hes skill link Icicle Spear by its self is strong. He absorbs Physical Atks like a boss and makes an interesting addition to the team. Had a few sweeps with him and he seems to do a good job.

[pimg]623[/pimg]
Balooba @ Leftovers @ Modest
252 hp/ 252 SpD/ 4 SpA
|Water Absorb |

Taunt
Recover
Shadow Ball
Surf

He is a staple of this team, He switches into all of Abamasnows problems. and beats most of the too. He stops Gliscor and other stall/Set up teams with taunt.

This is my first time posting and my first team :) I know there are alot of flaws and any help would be nice! Hail seems to be never used and I wanted to give it a shot and I seem to be doing ok. 1400 rating atm and for starting 2 weeks or so ago I don't think thats too bad ^_^

Any tips would be nice! Thanks again friends! :)))

Why are you using protect on abomasnow? You'll get choice locked into it. Why not use earthquake to hit ninetales and tyranitar or ice shard to revenge kill dragons?

Another thing is that you have no steel type to take powerful dragon type moves to the face. These moves include dragonite's outrage and lati@s's draco meteor. I would suggest replacing your cloyster with scizor. Scizor provides a great answer to most dragons with his strong priority bullet punch and his defenses are strong enough to take many moves from them. Just don't switch him in too much, as almost nothing survives the onslaught of dragons for long. I would recommend the offensive swords dance set, as it still keeps the set-up sweeper style that cloyster had, but it keeps itself nice and healthy with roost

Scizor @Life Orb
EVs: 248 HP, 252 Atk, 8 Speed | Adamant | Technician
~Bullet Punch
~Bug Bite
~Swords Dance
~Roost

Alright, this is the offensive swords dance set, except roost is stuck in over a coverage move to add to scizor's staying power so it can keep checking dragons. Life Orb is designed to give scizor immediate power so his bullet punch will actually ko some higher health threats. Bug Bite gets the technician boost, and is scizor's strongest STAB.

Now that that is taken care of, I see that you have no rapid spinner. You have three pokemon weak to stealth rock and only one that floats, so that's 5 weak to spikes and t-spikes. To fix this problem, I would replace jellicent with tentacruel. Tentacruel has great synergy with hail, and is able to take advantage of the rain with rain dish. He also walls fire and fighting types, especially if a rain team wins the weather war, so he is definitely useful. He even packs rapid spin to keep your weather starter safe. I would recommend the subtoxic set, as it allows tentacruel to spread status, and most every team carries something capable of getting rid of toxic spikes anyway, so I prefer subtoxic.

Tentacruel @Black Sludge / Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP, 236 Def, 20 Speed | Bold | Rain Dish
~Scald
~Substitute
~Toxic
~Rapid Spin

Alright, so this is the subtoxic tentacruel. It differs from normal tentacruel in that you sacrifice a coverage move for substitute and toxic spikes is replaced by toxic. Toxic spikes are so easily destroyed in this metagame that tentacruel will have an easier time spreading status with toxic. Substitute is great with toxic stall, and if you go up against a rain team, it can take advantage of rain dish to heal itself nearly instantly. Rapid Spin gets entry hazards away, something vital to sun and hail teams. Scald gets great STAB, and it can burn stuff that is immune to toxic.

Hope this stuff helps, and good luck with the team!

Hello,

At first, I suggest you to change Protect with EQ on Abomashow to hit Ninetales and Heatran and the others fire types but Ninetales and Heatran are the most frequent for sure. Then, you haven't a switch in on dragons' Draco Meteor so I'd use Special Defensive Heatran in place of Arcanine to take better the dragon types' attacks. Next, I'd change Dragon Pulse with Draco Meteor because Draco Meteor is the stronger move that Latios can use, so I'd use it. Finally, I'd use Will-O-Wisp in place of Shadow Ball on your Jellicent and I'd use this EV spread: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe (248 Evs in HP allow Jellicent to take less damage from Stealth Rock and Spikes, 216 EVs spread in Def allow Jellicent to take some physical hits better and to be a good mixed wall and finally 44 Evs in Speed allow Jellicent to outspeed and burn Choice Band Scizor that can be a quite problem for this team). Good luck, hope I helped.

Heatran set:

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SDef / 8 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Roar
