[WIN] Wildfire Plateau (Normal) - Gemoftheday and Zhengtann

A heated wind blows on these scorched cliffs and peaks. No matter where you turn your eyes, nothing you can see past barren rocks, burnt by the cruel sun. Natural bridges consisting of rock tongues suspended over impressive canyons and gulches allow you to get from a cliff to another one. As you walk carefully on one of the cliffs, you suddendly glance a violent spout of boiling vapor breaking through a fissure above your heads. Nevertheless, you keep going until one of the rock bridges bring you at the base of the plateau.

Thin cracks scatter through the ground like webs enveloping the whole sandy surface. There seems to be several higher platforms on the plateau, which you can reach through natural paths. As you are heading towards one of them, though, your eye gets caught by some runes inscribed in a wall of rock. You wonder what they mean, but all of a sudden you glance over a writing in common language, scratched below some of the runes. Ten thousand years of slumber, sealed away in..., and then the writing becomes unreadable. In the end, you decide to continue your walk, as what you seek probably lies at the top of the plateau.

After some more minutes of marching under the incessant drought, you finally arrive on the higher echelons of the plateau. Much to your surprise, an intense verdant light shines under your eyes. Soft blades of grass cover the entire area, despite the rock seems to be way too hard and dry for any kind of life to grow on. While you behold this magnificent meadow, something suddendly draws your attention. A strange bug, similar to a sort of larva, is crawling in the grass, near the center of the meadow. Another local form of life, maybe? You approach it carefully, but then the insect turns fiercely towards you and charges!

Stratagem - Erza (U)
stratagem.png

A swordsman wields the blade with graceful precision, just as Erza uses her attacks with dangerous beauty. She walked in on one of Gray and Natsu’s brawls, and the resulting free-for-all wore on for half a day before Zheng can subdue her with a Pokeball. Unknowingly for her, that fight left a lasting impression on the two – they’re cautious almost to the point of fearful whenever in her company since then. Wendy and Charla looks up to her as a role model, though, and it was Erza who took care of them, even though she was newer to the family.

Chargestone Cave is the hallowed ground for all of Erza's ancestry, yet she decides that she will withhold her instincts to evolve for the sake of her family. Small but close-knit, everyone looks up to Erza as the big sister, even though her quirks with boys sometimes astonished the girls and make the shy ones (like Juvia and Wendy) blush. After a series of long, drawn out clashes with Mirajane, both of them seemed to have settled to a cordial relationship, mutually agreeing to avoid mentioning the past conflicts, opting instead to look after the girls together and knock the boys down a peg or two when they get too loud.

It wasn't until the strawberry cake event that Erza finally found the courage to overcome her fear. The truth was, she was scared of shouldering her responsibility being a full-grown Stratagem, relying more and more on the rest of the family despite the lads' deferment to her leadership and skills. Resolving to do whatever it takes to protect herself and those around her, she secretly learn how to manipulate the nature from Mirajane, and the two became very fast friends. Although, Mirajane seems to have picked up some of Erza's racy quirks as well...

Nature: Modest (+1 SpA, -1 Atk)

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Fast Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Protect, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by 2 BAP during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Levitate
Type: Passive
This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the all seismic moves. Earth Power will have 3 less BAP. Dig and Dive can still strike a Levitating Pokemon, but only if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Other Ground moves can still hit.

Ability 2: Technician
Type: Passive
This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).

Ability 3: Mold Breaker (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

Armaldo - Pantherlily (M)
348.png

Gajeel was the one who found Pantherlily's Claw Fossil discarded at the entrance of a mine. Seeing the Murkrow's penchant for it, Zheng decided to go to the nearest archaeological lab and revive it. Pantherlily and Gajeel have been quite attached to each other ever since. They share the same camaraderie towards each other as Natsu and Gray, but at least they didn't have the head-splitting rivalry that the other pair always do. Often after a training session, Gajeel would take Pantherlily up for flight trips, while the latter demonstrates the pleasure of submersion in water. The rest of the family often help Pantherlily too, since he's still much less comfortable on terrestrial environment - Wendy loved piggybacking him and Charla together, while the latter doesn't mind that much.

Pantherlily's much larger size now meant that he would no longer be the protected fossiling now, but a respected fighter in his own right. Swinging his claws with the strength of a shield bash, Pantherlily trains everyday by felling trees for firewood and clearing debris around the monastery backyard. Often in the evenings, the only sounds there are the rustling of his claws as no fallen leaf ever touches the ground.

Nature: Brave (+1 Atk, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)

Type:
Bug type: Bug STAB; Adds an additional guaranteed attack on all multi-hit moves (does not include two hit moves) with a total hit cap of five (5).

Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Fast Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Protect, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by 2 Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Battle Armour
Type: Passive
Pantherlily’s thick armor prevents him from taking critical hits.

Ability 2: Swift Swim (DW Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Pantherlily can move deceptively fast in slick, rainy conditions, doubling (x2) its Speed in the rain.

Well, let's begin the offensive!

Gardevoir @ gardevoirite: psyshock -> psyshock
Carracostra @ cover fossil: stone edge -> stone edge

ZhengTann You should do this said:
Stratagem: ancientpower -> ancientpower
Armaldo: rock blast -> stone edge

If possible, I'm helping Gem to order her Gardevoir to Mega-Evolve A1 if she hasn't done so, without altering her current orders. Also Gem, by my calcs (Rare Candy equals +3 on Erza with STAB and Rank boost, Cover Fossil +1 Rank to Lincoln's Attack), Erza's taking threat here, though I think we can deal with it when the time comes with Castette's Taunt and Heal Pulse.

"Ten thousand years of slumber..." Zheng mused, the sunlight beating down upon him and Anna. The girl's bandanna did well to shelter her, and Zheng simply wrapped a scarf around his own to prevent sunstroke. "... Is there even any recorded history of that time?"

"Who knows, it could be an exaggeration," says Anna, skipping forward across the hissing cracks, heedless of the violent spouts regurgitated by the larger fissures. "This place could actually make a nice sauna! So many steam springs, I'll bet we can harness these energies to make a gold mine out of a tourist attraction!"

The pair moved upward, drawing no attraction - indeed, even with the heat, the crags seem barren of Pokemon wildlife. It is not until they reach a green meadow that a Larvesta is spotted in the distance. Since it was doing nothing on it's own, the pair ignored it. Zheng bent down to feel the grass blades, while Anna simply dropped to the grasses, enjoying the soft texture after the long trek. "Such a wonderful view after all the red and brown we've seen so far!" "Yes," answered Zheng, "and the grass is unusually soft as well... There might be that some source of volcanic soil surfaced here, where all else is granite and red. The question is though, what causes this to happen-"

It is then when a smoking trail blazed towards them. The Larvesta moved so fast that they had no choice but to jump aside. Rising higher in the air with it's six wings of flames, the Larvesta burns brighter, menacing despite it's small size.

"Here." "A small Larvesta?"

<"But on the verge of evolution, judging from the colour of the flames undulating from it's wings.>"

To his left, Anna sent out two Pokemons as well, sensing the threat in the fire bug.

Round 1

The team opens with an impressive assault on the little foe. Larvesta tries to retaliate against the Stratagem, but is quickly overwhelmed by the raid's repeated attacks and, after one last reckless charge, faints. However, before you can claim victory, an intense flame engulfs the tiny bug, shining intensely while the husk cracks wide open, giving birth to a giant moth, beautiful and lethal in its brightness! Its body suddendly emits a blinding glow which clears the sky above and bathes the entire battlefield in a heated sunlight.

Zar - Stratagem has R7 SpAtk which corresponds to +10 bonus and a +5.5 [Stat Dif] against Larvesta previously instead of +5, unless I'm missing the fact that the transition didn't work out in Raids yet?

Gem we need Castette to Mega-Evolve and get Light Screen up after she gets Trick Room on, in order to turn Sunfury Dance against Volcarona ASAP - even without it, only Erza is faster than Volcarona for this round. We can't afford to let Pantherlily get burned by Sunfury Dance yet, so Erza will have to continue taking threat. Lincoln can continue on the offensive without worries. Just remember to sub for Fly with Shell Smash :P

If all goes well, next round Castette will have to do the unthinkable - grabbing threat. Here's to no missing attacks :/

IF Erza-Stratagem is at the top of the threat list, THEN replace that action with Double Team.
IF Volcarona is untargettable, THEN replace your current action with Chill.

Of course.

Gardevoir: trick room -> [command: mega evolve] light screen (stratagem, anorith, gardevoir)

Carracosta: smack down -> stone edge
If volcorona is untargetable, THEN shell smash that action and chill all remaining actions.

My apologies, I was under te assumption tht mega-evolving still took up an action. It has been fixed now

Round 2

Erza takes the initiative and, while Castette taps into Gemoftheday's Mega Ring's light to evolve, it smacks the new foe with primal energy. Volcarona retaliates with a beam of sunlight, but the Gardevoir promptly uses her magic to twist the dimensions, allowing the slower Rock-types to plow into the enemy repeatedly. Volcarona attempts to pay back against Pantherlily, but the Armaldo dodges the opponent's violent gust of wind... only to be scorched by Volcarona's intense flames.

My bad for that, I forgot to factor that Trick Room messes up with the accumulation of aggro. On the plus side, we're now slightly ahead in the race, so let's keep it up for now. Next round will have to be crucial though - that's when Castette's going to use Taunt. I'm curious as to why Stratagem's first substitution didn't activate though, zar - did I mess the syntax up?

Round 3

The team keeps up a strong offense, but it also struggles to withstand Volcarona's fiery assaults. Even if backed by the team mate Gardevoir's heals, Pantherlily won't last for long.

Alright, time to test if Taunt is a good move. Castette should Taunt before attacking again with Psyshock, as that would have her grabbing instant threat and giving Pantherlily a moment of reprieve - and a moment will be all we need. Erza's Ancient Power now deals 33 damage, while Pantherlily deals a minimum of 27 with Rock Blast. Assuming Pantherlily doesn't miss twice, all Lincoln has to do is to use Smack Downs and Volcarona will never get a third Sunfury Dance in.

got it boss.

Castette (gardevoir): taunt -> psyshock
Lincoln (carracosta): smack down -> smack down

Round 4

Castette draws the moth's attention, allowing the rest of the team to pound it until she can finish it off with a single mind assault.

Each Pokemon: 1 EC, 2 MC, 1 AC or 3 MC or (moves/15) CC
Glyph of Fiery Dance: Raises the secondary effect chance of Fiery Dance to 100%

You will be able to claim your rewards once the raid is over.

Worried about encountering other nasty surprises, you quickly leave the verdant meadow and continue up the path towards the top of the plateau. As you progress in your advance, you reach a bridge of stone, suspended over a pit of lava below. You cross it with upmost care, making your best efforts to not look below. After the bridge, you get to another echelon - high enough to make you think you are close to the top. On a first moment you were going to go through it without much thought, but something catches your eyes all of a sudden. Some flames are flowing through little fissures scattered on the ground. It would be something normal in a place like this, were it not for the fact that the flames are of a light blue and oscillate in an odd manner, making you think for a second they're almost... alive.

Nevertheless, you impute this to a sort of mirage and go on. The path now follows the circular form of the highest echelon, with a tongue of rock surrounding the plateau which allows you to reach the top. Again, something in your mind strongly suggest you not to look down, as you slowly advance through this really narrow route. Luckily for you, the road is not long, and within few minutes you finally are on the very top of Wildfire Plateau. Whichever is the cause of the altered weather, it must be somewhere around here - or at least, that's your guess. You start looking around, but there seems to be no things worth noting. After some time spent searching the place, you resign yourself to come back and look if the problem lies somewhere else. However...

A sudden roar echoes in the air, amplified by the surrounding peaks! You turn frantically your eyes around to see where did that noise come from, then you look above. A magnificent bird, imbued into shining flames, is diving towards you. Luckily, you manage to dodge it, but the bird seems willing to attack again! You prepare your Poké Balls, ready to face the new threat.

Same strategy as with Volcarona, I'd think - we need Castette screens up ASAP, while Lincoln piles up, and prepare for the contingency where Moltres is out of reach. Erza will inevitable take threat because of her speed, and let's just hope Living Flame doesn't get to Castette. If you have a better plan, just convo me, and let's aim for a 4RKO, shall we? :)

EDIT: Oops, why did I not change Volcarona to Moltres :/ Fixed.
"Be careful with the flames, bhante - they seem to be alive," warned Anna. "But can flames be alive or sentient? Might be the way the air flows in the fissures that causes the fires to burn," replied Zheng. "If only we had a long stick that could draw some of it to take a closer look at," "Well, it's best if we move on, bhante."

Upon the top of Wildfire Plateau, Zheng and Anna tried looking for inscriptions similar to those found near the walls of its base, but unfortunately their search yields nothing. The ground here is dry and slightly cracked, but it raised no dust upon their footfalls. It was when they've decided to return for another time when the legendary Moltres swooped down at them.

"Oi, that's the second time I'm being dive-bombed today, turkey!" shouts Anna in irritation.

Round 1

While its team mate Gardevoir evolves once again, Erza draws the enemy's attention with a wave of primal power. Moltres starts tapping into sunlight, but despite the fossil Pokemon's assault, manages to let loose two beams of sunlight in rapid succession, that leave a large hole in the Stratagem despite the protective barriers conjured by Castette in the meanwhile.

Okay, Stone Edge finally missed - considering all those times we used it, it's bound to come anyway. Worse, me and my big mouth about Living Flame became true >_> Okay, right now that firepower would be much more efficient on Pantherlily, so Castette's going to have to pass it over before healing Erza. The rest can keep on rocking (cue Fall Out Boy's The Phoenix).

Unable to exploit its full potential, Castette decides to pass the living flame to the team mate Armaldo; however, the blue fire leaves a lasting burn on the Gardevoir. Nevertheless, the Rock-type team mates keep up the offense, unconcerned about Moltres's fierce beams of sunlight. The Gardevoir tries to keep the reckless Stratagem alive, but it's not going to be an easy task.
