Sticky X/Y Sprite Project

Dleep Yeah even your Mega Blaziken (!!!) I implemented this veto sort of system so nothing would get by us that wasn't perfect. We will get some line fixes, which is what currently ails your Mega Blaziken from getting approval. So please hold off as well until Wyv and I both agree it's ready.

Bran I did some modification on the mouth, what you did was a bit too complicated, also removed a touch of colour from the old version.

Also been working on Hawlucha, if anyone has experience with wing shading feel free to go crazy on the back.

:DD in any case, it's my first attempt at an animation, and i don't have the tools nor the knowledge to make a nice animation. If nothing else i can provide the animator with the sprites i made said attempt from

This is actually really nice lol, I just would've liked more movement from the other leg and the arms. You know what I'm saying?
I tried to mimic mblaziken's pattern on a gameplay video i saw on youtube, but i guess it'd be cool to have that leg kicking around XD... though looking at it again, it relaxes both knees at the same time, and i did the opposite... back to the drawing board D:

sparkle what you didn't take into account is no mouth has a black outline like that in genV style so I'm not confident in taking that revision.

Now for an important story:

It may not look like it right now on the chart but there was one sprite I voted against going to animate that confused Wyverii. By all accounts it was a good sprite, and involved good work, was accurate, had the right amount of colours, a consistent front and back. It was the first sprite on the list, Mega-Venusaur.

What Wyverii didn't know and I only found out recently long after I sprited it, was that Venusaur had something on its back that we couldn't have known existed. I am of course speaking to the giant buttflower situated right on the crack of the giant grass ass starter. I suppose its farts really do smell like roses. So yeah I placed the first veto on my own sprite, I hadn't gotten around to fixing the problem of my own creation.

But now it is time to move past that I submit a new back of Mega Venusaur with the buttflower on full display

So as it will be now on with revisions such as this I will say it's ready but we wait upon Wyverii to reconfirm on the chart.

I drew Chesnaught's backsprite!

However, do bear in mind. I DID NOT draw the frontsprite on the left. Credit for that feat goes to Manibogi since he's the one who did it on his own. I left the front sprite there however for comparison purposes, as well as general critique. He said he wanted someone else to do the backsprite, and I took a crack at it. Please tell me what you all think! The left foot kind of bugs me a bit, but I was strictly going off this

Looks good brobat! But its legs are kinda crooked. Maybe they can be fixed up a bit. Kind of looks like hes about to tip over to the left lol. That left leg does look hard to copy from that pic but since both feet are prob the same, maybe lowering the left foot would make it look better. Tbh, was kinda hoping to see alittle head on it but that prob not possible cuz of his big shell isnt it? Anyway, hope that helps alittle.

Well it's a very good attempt and I think I can help a bit. I think the left leg should be further back and be hidden by the tail mostly. Then I think the left arm should be showing a little bit, near the bottom left spike I think. Other than that its good.
 
I got my first draft of tyrantrum done. I'll add more to the head in the next draft. Put almost all my focus on his body for this draft. So is this smooth enough?

If you can visibly count the frames then it's not smooth enough. I think you're on the right track but you need literally twice the amount of frames you have right now, at the very least.

Also his thighs are awkwardly inflating and deflating

Put newnewtwo (Y) on a diet, and fixed up a few things. Should be good to go now. I'll get back with some QCs on things that need minor tweaks.

Did a bit on Goomy. I didn't agree with the palette decision, way too bright. Also changed its black to an off black common in gen 5 sprites and altered the perspective a bit. I think it's little feelers attach quite close to each other as well.

Watch Goomy be the new "scizor" of ou. Everyones gonna feel its wrath.

Anyway, heres my second draft for tyrantrum. A added more frames like you said now and it looks alot smoother. Also started on the head alittle more by making his jaw move. Think I'll make his rare animation a roar. As for the akward leg, it didnt look very akward to me but I lessened the animation on the thigh slightly. Did it make a difference?

Anyways Mega Venusaur, Mega Mewtwo Y, and GOOMY are ready for animation. Somebody needs to get on Goomy this is the highest priority of all animations. It will be truly inspiring and poets will sing of its grace for ages to come. It needs two alternating rare animations as well.

Also just to show all kinds of crazy I did this

Alright, I got Mega Absol all ready for the final animation, AKA both the front and the back have been split into parts that have been mounted on the Pivot file. However, doing so was a total nightmare, that thing has way too much furstuff. Even though I only have to do the easy part now (the actual animation), I need a break from staring at that overly fluffy wingsheep. So I'm going to go ahead and reserve Goomy's animation.

Any Goomy draft that I submit in the future will NOT be a finalized one, because I want the animation to be based of his in-game motions (which haven't been shown yet). For now, I'll do one based of Grimer (its animation seems to fit the best), and edit it accordingly when we get actual footage of that thing. I plan to make this awesome enough to significantly expand the LC playerbase.

I will go back to Mega Absol when I get the chance. Having done the hard parts already, I have no intention of leaving it unfinished.

EDIT: Sorry ito, you weren't on the chart and I didn't see your post. I can't guarantee that I won't animate it too because it looks like a lot of fun, but you do deserve priority over me on this.

Wow man, we're putting in animations on stuff...big hand to all of you guys, lol. Also it just hit me that Chesnaught's got a gender difference--female ones have a dark brown shell, while males have the light cream-colored one. So I'm probably gonna update my sprite once I tweak the leg a bit, thank you guys for the critique
 
Sorry, I couldn't do the sprites I said I would. Got something else taking up my time this week. I can help with quality control and animation though, after X/Y comes out.
 
Mah goodness me, these sprites look oh-so delicious.

Well anyways, sorry if the edits for the Mega Gardevoir sprite took quite a long time to finish. This week has been hectic with all the school works flooding my schedule.

So here's the revamped version of my old one:

Also, I noticed Pumpkaboo sprite still has rooms for improvement and so, it wasn't accepted yet.

Any tips, comments, or suggestions for Pumpkaboo and this Mega Gardevoir sprite here?
 
It's really just the minor things, for me pumpkaboos back could use some more shades of pink, but only slightly. Those curved dark pink lines might get away with some more colour. Once you get a Mega Gardevoir back as well I'll probably say yes for animation.

As I'm sure Legitimate Username has learned, if you want to update the static sprite once animations are done it's a real pain. We're avoiding that above all, we still love your sprites, but we want to leave as little room for improvement as possible once we go to animate.

I will also never say yes to a sprite going to be animated that doesn't have a back.

There doesn't seem to be a clear angle for your shading, either the shading that reaches up on the right is too high, the shading on the very left is too high, or both. Either will work, but besides that it does look quite good. :)

I like it, but a couple things. Should I redo the palette on its evolutions? Also I made an edit of goomy with bigger eyes (and a few other minor changes) in my last post. Should his eyes stay as 2-3 pixel dots?

You should also make the top of the head come down to match the mouth, otherwise its snout will be awkwardly extending and retracting..And once you make the whole head move, you can make the frills on its neck move in tandem
