[SET]
Choice Band (Terrakion) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sword of Ruin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock / Quick Attack / Poison Jab
[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band Terrakion is a fearsome wallbreaker thanks to its good Attack stat, useful offensive typing, high-Base Power STAB moves, and ability to bypass Fluffy. Earthquake allows Terrakion to hit non-Earth Eater Gholdengo and have a slightly stronger and more accurate option against foes like Iron Hands and Pecharunt. Terrakion's last moveslot is very flexible, as it likes to use Close Combat or Stone Edge almost all of the time. Stealth Rock can help wear down the opposing team and chip would-be defensive checks into range of a 2HKO, while Quick Attack can pick off faster, weakened foes, and Poison Jab does more damage to Primarina and Scream Tail. Teammates such as Iron Boulder, Zamazenta, and Roaring Moon appreciate Terrakion's ability to break through Corviknight, which is one of their biggest roadblocks, and can clean up weakened teams. Terrakion is vulnerable to being revenge killed due to its middling Speed stat, so a strong defensive backbone featuring Pokemon like Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Manaphy is recommended. Terrakion fits best on balance and bulky offense teams that need a wallbreaker and can help it switch in safely, so slow pivots like the aforementioned Corviknight and Manaphy make for good teammates. Additionally, special pivots like Azelf and Hisuian Electrode can get it in on special walls such as RegenVest Meloetta and Hisuian Goodra, which it can threaten out.
