Is it possible to get the azure flute and the other event items via mystery gift with someone who has the items? I've never been 100% clear on that.

I'd like to know that too, but nobody that hatches a shiny would try to risk it and soft reset for better IVs.
In theory I think that it could be done since:
From bulbapedia
Shininess depends upon the trainer ID, secret ID, and the personality value, as such:
(Trainer ID) xor (Secret ID) = E
(First byteword of personality value) xor (Second byteword of personality value) = F
if E xor F is less than eight, then the Pokémon is shiny.

Trainer ID and Secret ID remain constant, the personality value determines gender, ability and nature so it seems like it remains constant since the egg has been generated so I think you could soft reset for a shiny pokemon.

iv been looking in the binoculars upstairs for a croagunk at the great marsh and i havent seen it if i keep trying will it show or no?
 
Is Cresselia able to be SRed for accurately?
If so, whenare its IVs/Nature set?

IF you want to SR for Cresselia you need to save in front of her before talking to her, because the moment it runs away to the field it will always be the same Cresselia. Also synchronize trick doesn't work with it.

There are many good ones around, davy has a timid one, forbidden a modest one, goodbard has one bold, I got a good one too.
I think Anti wanted a Calm one, but for that you should ask him because I don't have any idea what the EV spread would be.
 
can smeargle only sketch moves from wild pokemon? or can he sketch moves from battles between players? im trying to teach mine encore/thunderpunch so any ideas?
 
What IV Bred Pokémon are lacking on Smogon (I'm trying to get an idea for a good project). Preferably something that doesn't need to have a certain Hidden Power.

I'm considering a Walreain because I have a bunch of great parents and I haven't seen any lately.

Smeargle can sketch moves from wild pokemon and trainer battles but only against NPCs, not human opponents.

Does anybody know if the Action Replay (max/duo) for the GBA works for the Gameboy micro?
I wanna buy it for soft resetting for legendaries but I'm worried it won't fit in the slot or something.
 
After using a Roserade set with spikes and sleep powder, it came to my attention that the set is illegal because they're both egg moves. I've been playing on shoddybattle and I'm not into actually breeding pokes on the cartridges, so my questions are as follows:

What about spikes and leaf storm? Isn't it right that egg moves come from the either the father or mother but not the other?

Shoddy doesn't currently raise a red flag about illegal movesets so one has to be careful, thanks.

#1153 How eggs are handled varies with the across different versions. Peterko's breeding guide explains it iirc.
#1157 Keep paying multiple times for the binoculars and you'll get different results each time. Speeds up the process.

Are there any guides to soft resetting? I know it sounds a bit daft, but for one thing the questions about SR are frequent, plus I'd like to know points like where to save, whether I can back out of certain event Pokes etc.

Egg moves are only from the father. Nature and species comes from mother.
 
Ok, I found some new information:

Nidoking cannot have sucker punch and fire punch on the same set. If I chose fire punch, I'd need to breed in emerald and not get sucker punch. If I breed for fire punch, it must be in DP.

What to do?

EDIT: Actually, EE already has an adamant Nidoking with the elemental punches, so maybe instead of improving on him I should use sucker punch? I'm still looking for feedback though.
