Mirror Armor Doesn't Work Against Syrup Bomb?
Happens on turn 9 - Battle for example

This probably isn't a bug and I just don't know things, but I thought that since Mirror Armor reflects the stat drop on other moves that it would apply to syrup bomb too?

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Should be able to replicate it with Dipplin and Corviknight
 
With residual effects that lower stats each turn, the stat drop is considered to be coming from the pokemon that has the effect, not the pokemon that set it, thus they aren't affected by Mirror Armor. Octolock works the same way.

This is incorrect. In Gen 9, using Syrup Bomb into a Pokemon with Mirror Armor will cause Mirror Armor to activate and lower the Speed stat of the Syrup Bomb user. In Gen 8, you are correct that Octolock will not get reflected by Mirror Armor.
