[OVERVIEW]

By setting up Sticky Web, Galvantula can enable wallbreakers like Torterra, Indeedee-M, and Gallade that are otherwise easily revenge killed by faster Pokemon like Inteleon, Choice Scarf Mienshao, and Choice Scarf Hisuian Typhlosion. Galvantula also spreads paralysis quite easily with both Thunder and Thunder Wave. Galvantula, however, can be outsped and KOed by Pokemon with multi-hit moves like Scale Shot Flygon and Triple Axel Mienshao. Notably, Tsareena, one of the best hazard removers the tier has to offer, can use Rapid Spin to clear Sticky Web and then proceed to outspeed and KO Galvantula with Triple Axel or Knock Off the next turn. Another hurdle for Galvantula to overcome is Magic Bounce Espeon, as it always survives one hit from Galvantula as it switches in and can get severe damage off on it before bringing in a revenge killer to finish it off.

Sticky Web lets Galvantula enable potent slower setup sweepers like Gallade, Flygon, and Porygon-Z. Thunder + Compound Eyes allows Galvantula to hit as hard as possible with great accuracy. It can also spread paralysis to bulkier Pokemon like Dragalge and Registeel that can freely come in otherwise. Thunder Wave can reliably paralyze Flying-types and Pokemon with Levitate that are unaffected by Sticky Web like Talonflame and Cresselia. Tera Ghost on Galvantula is only used in niche situations where forcing Sticky Web to be up by spinblocking Pokemon like Tsareena, Avalugg, and Brambleghast is necessary or there is no strong need to Terastallize another teammate.

Setup sweepers that are relatively slow, like Porygon-Z, Gallade, and Indeedee-M, greatly appreciate foes suffering the Speed drop from Galvantula's Sticky Web. Other setup sweepers that are still outsped even after they boost their Speed like Cloyster, Torterra, and Dragon Dance Flygon work magnificently with Galvantula. Galvantula's Sticky Web also tends to get cleared by Tsareena's Rapid Spin and Talonflame's Defog, so spinblockers and Defog deterrents like Chandelure, Hisuian Typhlosion, Kilowattrel, and Galarian Articuno help to dissuade these entry hazard removers. The former two can also run Choice Scarf so that the team has speed control in case Sticky Web is removed. Opposing Choice Scarf users can be difficult to deal with because Pokemon on Sticky Web teams tend to be relatively slow, meaning naturally fast Pokemon like Inteleon, Infernape, and Flygon can work to counteract this issue. Hazards are also quite annoying for Sticky Web teams, especially opposing Sticky Web. Thus, Tsareena can work well as both an offensive threat and a hazard remover. Another hazard remover that works on Sticky Web teams is Focus Sash Brambleghast, as it can also set up Spikes and dent defensive Pokemon with Curse.

Lunge or Pounce can be used to simultaneously ease setup for Galvantula's partners and prevent it from being taken advantage of as easily. Volt Switch can also be run to circumvent Galvantula's passivity by letting it pivot, and it can save Sticky Web for later if the hazard is removed. Energy Ball can be run to hit Pokemon like Diancie and specially defensive Swampert, but dropping Thunder Wave makes Galvantula quite passive overall. Swarm can be used over Compound Eyes with Thunderbolt replacing Thunder, as Galvantula can then OHKO Espeon with Bug Buzz after being knocked into Swarm range by Psychic. Infestation can be used to trap slower Pokemon, preventing any needless predictions to cover an opponent's switch to Magic Bounce Espeon.

Checks and Counters
====

**Entry Hazard Control**: Due to Galvantula almost always being a lead, it can be easily countered by entry hazard control. Specifically, Magic Bounce Espeon, Taunt Iron Thorns, Defog Talonflame, and Rapid Spin Tsareena can all thwart hazard setting attempts by Galvantula and KO it without difficulty.

**Multi-hit Moves**: Some Pokemon carry Focus Sash-breaking multi-hit moves like Tsareena and Mienshao, which can run Triple Axel, and certain setup sweepers like Cloyster, Torterra, and Flygon, which typically run Icicle Spear, Rock Blast, and Scale Shot, respectively.

**Ground-types**: Flygon and Torterra can easily boost in front of Galvantula, as they are not OHKOed and can KO Galvantula the next turn with their multi-hit moves. Since Energy Ball is quite rare on Galvantula, Diancie, Quagsire, and specially defensive Swampert can take advantage of it as well by setting their own hazards.

With a great Speed tier and the ability to circumvent its passivity this means nothing to me ngl, how does it circumvent passivity? with twave?, Galvantula cement itself as the most reliable Sticky Web setter in NU. By setting up Sticky Web, Galvantula can enable a wide array of Pokemon from Torterra to Gallade that are otherwise easily revenge killed by Choice Scarf Pokemon or naturally faster threats like Mienshao and Hisuian Typhlosion. Galvantula also spreads paralysis quite easily with both of Thunder and Thunder Wave, and it can work around its passivity as a suicide lead by using Volt Switch to both preserve its entry hazard for later and to put pressure on the opponent, bringing in a setup sweeper ok so you mention how here. i would just cut out that first sentence then. it ends up really not saying anything new because you explain in greater detail later on. On top of this, Galvantula carrying Energy Ball can surprise would-be checks like Rhyperior, Swampert, and Diancie. it's not slashed so idt you need to bother mentioning it here Galvantula however can be outsped and KOed by Pokemon with multi-hit moves like Rock Blast Lycanroc-D and Triple Axel Mienshao. scale shot flygon should be mentioned here 100%, especially because you did not list lunge on galvantula's moveset. you are essentially free real estate for it to boost as much as it wants Notably, Tsareena, one of the best hazard clearers the tier has to offer, can use Rapid Spin to clear webs and then proceed to outspeed and KO Galvantula with Triple Axel the next turn. Another hurdle for Galvantula to overcome is Magic Bounce Espeon, as it always lives one hit from Galvantula on the switch in and can get severe damage off on it before bringing in a revenge killer to finish it off.

Sticky Web lets Galvantula enable potent slower set up sweepers like Gallade, Mew, and Krookodile. Thunder + Compound Eyes allows Galvantula to hit as hard as possible with great accuracy. It can also spread paralysis to bulkier Pokemon like Dragalge and Registeel that think that they can come in unharmed otherwise. Volt Switch allows Galvantula to work around its passivity by letting it pivot and set Sticky Web later if they happen to go away. However, Thunder Wave can be used instead to more reliably paralyze Pokemon with Compound Eyes than Thunder can. tbh I'd kill the mention of volt switch entirely. i've never once wanted to pivot with galv and almost always prefer staying in until it dies unless i have a very free switch otherwise Focus Sash allows Galvantula to get off its Sticky Web reliably each game, barring rather uncommon multi-hit moves like Triple Axel and Rock Blast. Tera Ghost on Galvantula is only used in niche situations where forcing Sticky Web to be up by spinblocking Pokemon like Tsareena, Avalugg, and Brambleghast is better than Terastalizing a partner set up sweeper. i think you miss the mark a little here. you only tera ghost when there's no clear need to terastallize one of your sweepers OR if you literally cannot win without webs support

probably worth giving a bullet point to Ground-types generally. eball is super niche and all of them bar Krookodile exploit galv pretty well otherwise. hell even krook can mess you up because you don't wanna risk it being bulk up + scale as you greed for web t1 against it.

It can also spread paralysis to paralyze bulkier Pokemon like Dragalge and Registeel that think that they (it's not so much the Pokemon that think, but the player switching them in that does) can freely come in unharmed (this isn't technically correct, as they would still be sustaining damage) otherwise. Sticky Web lets Galvantula enable potent slower set up setup sweepers like Gallade, Flygon, and Porygon-Z. Thunder + Compound Eyes allows Galvantula to hit as hard as possible with great accuracy. Thunder Wave can reliably spread paralysis to paralyze Flying-types and Pokemon with Levitate that are unaffected by Sticky Webs like Talonflame and Cresselia. Tera Ghost on Galvantula is only used in niche situations where forcing Sticky Web to be up by spinblocking Pokemon like Tsareena, Avalugg, and Brambleghast is necessary or there is no strong need to Terastallize anything else another teammate.

Setup sweepers that are relatively slow, like Porygon-Z, Gallade, and Indeedee-M, compared to others (redundant w/ "relatively slow") greatly appreciate foes suffering (elaboration, as it'd otherwise sounds like the sweepers enjoy having their Speed dropped) the speed Speed drop from Galvantula's Sticky Web. Other setup sweepers that are still outsped even after they boost their speed Speed like Cloyster, Torterra, and Dragon Dance Flygon work magnificently with Galvantula. Galvantula's Sticky Web also tends to get cleared by Tsareena's Rapid Spin and Talonflame's Defog, so spinblockers and Defog deterrents like Chandelure, Hisuian Typhlosion, Kilowattrel, and Galarian Articuno help to dissuade these entry hazard clearers removers. The former two along can also run Choice Scarf too so that the team has speed control even in case the Sticky Web disappears. Opposing Choice Scarf users can be difficult to deal with, as Pokemon on Sticky Web teams tend to be relatively slow, meaning naturally fast Pokemon like Inteleon, Infernape, and Flygon can work to counteract this issue. Entry hazards Hazards are also quite annoying for Sticky Web teams, especially opposing Sticky Web. So Thus, Tsareena can work well as both an offensive threat and a hazard clearer remover all in one. ("all in one" would make more sense if Tsareena takes on more than these two roles.) Another hazard clearer remover that works on Sticky Web teams is Focus Sash Brambleghast, as it can also set up Spikes and dent defensive Pokemon with Curse.

Lunge or Pounce can be used as to simultaneously ease setting (AS) up for Galvantula's partners and simultaneously not let it be taken advantage of as easily. Volt Switch can also be run to circumvent Galvantula's passivity (this is just a guess based on the overview, feel free to change this if it's something else) by letting it pivot, and it can save Sticky Web for later if they happen to go away. Energy Ball can be run to hit Pokemon like Diancie and specially defensive Swampert, but dropping Thunder Wave makes Galvantula quite passive overall. Swarm can be used over Compound Eyes with Thunderbolt replacing Thunder, as Galvantula can then OHKO Espeon with a Bug Buzz after being knocked into Swarm range by a Psychic. Infestation can be used to trap slower Pokemon in, preventing any needless predictions to cover an opponent's switch to Magic Bounce Espeon.

Checks and Counters
====

**Entry Hazard Control**: Due to Galvantula almost always starting off a battle, it can be easily countered by entry hazard obstruction control. Specifically, Magic Bounce Espeon, Taunt Iron Thorns, Defog Talonflame, and Rapid Spin Tsareena can all thwart entry ("entry" only needs to be stated on the first mention of "hazard(s)" per paragraph/section) hazard setting attempts by Galvantula and can all KO it without difficulty.

**Multi-hit Moves**: Some Pokemon carry Focus Sash-breaking multi-hit moves like Tsareena and Mienshao, which can run Triple Axel, (AC) and certain set up setup sweepers like Cloyster, Torterra, and Flygon, which typically run Icicle Spear, Rock Blast and Scale Shot, respectively.

**Ground-types**: Flygon and Torterra can easily boost in front of Galvantula, (AC) as they can't get OHKOed and can KO Galvantula the next turn with their multi-hit moves. Since Energy Ball is quite rare on Galvantula, Diancie, Quagsire, and specially defensive Swampert can take advantage of it too as well by getting setting their own entry hazards as well.

[OVERVIEW]
By setting up Sticky Web, Galvantula can enable wallbreakers like Torterra, Indeedee-M, and Gallade that are otherwise easily revenge killed by faster Pokemon like Inteleon, (AC) and Choice Scarf Mienshao, (AC) and Choice Scarf Hisuian Typhlosion. Galvantula also spreads paralysis quite easily with both Thunder and Thunder Wave, and it can work around its passivity as a dedicated lead by using Volt Switch to both preserve its entry hazard for later and put pressure on the opponent by bringing in a setup sweeper. (should this be in the overview? olt switch isn't on the set and is the second thing in other options, so having it here in a section that explains the mon's place in the meta feels like overselling) Galvantula, however, can be outsped and KOed by Pokemon with multi-hit moves like Scale Shot Flygon and Triple Axel Mienshao. Notably, Tsareena, one of the best hazard clearers renovers the tier has to offer, can use Rapid Spin to clear Sticky Web and then proceed to outspeed and KO Galvantula with Triple Axel or Knock Off the next turn. Another hurdle for Galvantula to overcome is Magic Bounce Espeon, as it always lives survives one hit from Galvantula as it switches in and can get severe damage off on it before bringing in a revenge killer to finish it off.
