NOC Working Title Mafia (Game Thread) [Mafia Wins]

I'm still behind and reading. So far, I see that there are two very defined wagons on Joey and Jalmont. However, ugh, I honestly prefer to go for Pulsar. Her move made no sense to me at all. If this had helped the town in any way, I would understand, but I have no reason not to vote for her. I'm on page 59/60 btw I don't know if I can convince anyone to jump on this wagon. But at least I wanted to share my thoughts while I finish reading.

It would be way better for reading you and just in general for your game to pick a viable wagon

neutral - redless/joey: I find joey very hard to read and I seem to be predisposed to town reading him so I have to keep that bias in check. Redless is just null based on not really posting. Few posts have been ok for me and I'd like to hear more (and I assume will hear more in future phases).

catfries/pulsar - catfries I've talked about, pulsar admittedly I haven't read too hard and I hate to say this because I think it's bad to penalize efforting too much but that's honestly what it feels like. I find that scum pulsar tends to feel more towny and more engaged in the game whereas town pulsar has these activity bursts and then disappears. The former feels more like the case, but again, I can't commit to a vote because I don't think that's fair to pulsar.

flanders/dbd/saber - flanders has been too normal for me lol. if he's town reading me and generally being more friendly and reconciliatory, I find that outside his town game which is more dgaf. Unfortunately I'm not sure there's enough there to really let me vote. Saber hasn't really offered much, but again that might be more town saber I just don't remember mafia saber very well. DBD has been weird this entire game and for sure there's a bit of OMGUS there. I dunno, I guess I have to think about is this the sort of playerlist that tries to misvote me? Probably not - so maybe DBD is ok? He's just feeling very agenda driven and not really all that open to different possibilities.

aside, but obviously it's ideal to get the WW out. unfortunately i don't really believe there's a high value way of doing so. just too difficult and pretty much requires a rand.

Shows that Alice put me in position #4/#5 showing a strong TR that I still think it would make sense for him to shoot Alice here. Nobody else town read Alice this hard d1.

Shows that JALMONT read Des as town d1 and then pivoted today, which is like fair, but I'm not really seeing the progression to justify that d2 vote and the rest of his d2 is questionable at best.

This shows JALMONT angling for the m2h/joey vote today prior to my claim. He was probably going to justify this based on wagonomics (i.e., joey was the cfd yesterday and the other wagon was town, I was the only potential scum on that wagon AND I lived last night). Which is also a weird thought considering you'd expect HyHy or Lechen to die, not necessarily me tbh.

can you explain this more? I don't understand what you're saying. JALMONT's post says he has barely thought about alice beyond "Alice has been posting well", are you calling that a strong townread?

Yes, JALMONT's position was in order from town core at the top to scum reads at the bottom. JALMONT had me and Alice near the top of his list, and JALMONT previously demonstrated a strong TR on me by for example, telling genisu that we were not gonna vote me for instance. Having Alice at the same position as me means that TR was about as strong. I think JALMONT is just saying there that he hasn't analyzed Alice's posts very deeply, probably because he town read her and didn't feel a need to! Thus it would make sense to shoot Alice there instead of one of those top tier TRs (lechen, genisu, and hyhy) and maybe he was counting on me to be mislynchable at some point, or otherwise maybe my reads were off enough d1 that he felt I'd be a vocal liability to the town and lead others the wrong way. I dunno man.
 
i think that is a huge stretch even if jalmont did have a strong townread on alice and that post implies that he definitely did not have a strong townread on her, he just didn't have many other townreads in general

I have to assume that you figured that Alice would trend better over time, and that perhaps I would get caught up in some dumb conflict with joey and put my own lynch on the table, or something like that.

This seems like very solid reasoning. But let's say Jalmont flips mafia, who else would be their partner? Maybe catfries, and could you give a possible pool of options for the third one? I'll explain what I'm thinking when you respond to see if I'm heading in the right direction.

Maybe flandrs, maybe pulsar, maybe catfries yeah. Honestly I haven't thought about it a ton.

Why tf would mafia me bother trying to set you up instead of just killing you outright. If I was mafia I could just kill you and then talk nonsense really loudly with the likelihood of someone checking me a lot lower. Zzz

Or i could’ve just…killed one of my other top townreads??? Let’s be honest it’s hard to see the reasoning with the Alice kill which you’d think it would mean less likely to be me (if you agree with the theory that I’m more likely to be the “puppet master” of the mafia or smth)
