* Charm + Synthesis allows Ogerpon-W to outlast slower physical attackers like Haxorus and most Gouging Fire sets. Synthesis can also help defeat Draco Meteor users like Speed Booster Energy Walking Wake.
* Ivy Cudgel is a reliable Water-type STAB move used to chip down the likes of Metagross, Gouging Fire, and Skeledirge.
* Power Whip is used primarily to take down other Water-types, most notably Primarina and Urshifu-R.
* If some of these Pokemon are already well-covered by a partner, Encore is worth considering. Encore can foil the plans of some setup Pokemon, such as Swords Dance Iron Hands, that would otherwise outlast Charm and then KO Ogerpon-W. Encore also allows for it to break through some stall Pokemon, such as Reflect + Calm Mind Cresselia.
* 152 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature allow Ogerpon-W to outspeed Haxorus and Urshifu. The defensive investment gives the best chances to survive a Close Combat from Choice Band Urshifu, allowing Ogerpon-W to be sent in against both of its formes without having to guess at Team Preview.
