Utilizing Loaded Dice and Scale Shot, Dragonite speeds through OU, flying circles around traditional Dragonite checks like Corviknight, Zamazenta, and Gholdengo. Scale Shot gives Dragonite a powerful STAB move to hit many threats, OHKOing its fellow Dragon-types like Roaring Moon and Raging Bolt and, after a Dragon Dance, the likes of Ogerpon-W and Darkrai. Furthermore, after a Speed boost from Scale Shot or Dragon Dance, Dragonite can outspeed almost the entirety of the unboosted metagame, excluding Dragapult, Zamazenta, and Deoxys-S, and further usage of Scale Shot can make it extremely difficult to outspeed Dragonite without priority. Fire Punch slams the Steel-types that Scale Shot misses, like Corviknight, Gholdengo, and Kingambit. Finally, Encore shuts down both defensive and offensive Pokemon that dare to set up or recover on Dragonite, like Corviknight, Zamazenta, and Garganacl. Loaded Dice ensures Scale Shot is a reliable damaging move. Tera Fire boosts Fire Punch, pushing Corviknight into the 2HKO range and guaranteeing the 2HKO on Skarmory, Gholdengo, and Kingambit, and nullifies Cinderace's and Moltres's Will-O-Wisp, allowing Dragonite to turn potential checks into setup opportunities. Due to Scale Shot's Speed-boosting side effect, Dragonite can comfortably run an Adamant nature, guaranteeing the OHKO on threats like Walking Wake.

With its power and versatility, Scale Shot Dragonite finds itself on bulky offense and hyper offense teams. Due to Dragonite's lack of Heavy-Duty Boots, entry hazard control is more important than ever to maintain both Multiscale and to avoid chip damage, so hazard control teammates like Iron Treads, Great Tusk, and Hatterene are crucial, with the latter also serving as a status blocker from pesky defensive Pokemon like Moltres and Gliscor. Speaking of status spreaders, Dragapult is a flight hazard for Dragonite, with a speedy Will-O-Wisp and devastating Dragon Darts, so partners like Primarina and Iron Valiant are solid picks to scare it away. An exceptional partner for Dragonite is Landorus-T, which brings hazard support in Stealth Rock, a fast Taunt that can deny Stealth Rock from setters like Glimmora and Ting Lu, and the ability to bring Dragonite in safely through U-turn. Other strong partners for Dragonite are Gholdengo and Iron Crown, as they can scare threats like Iron Valiant and Zamazenta, which Dragonite often struggles to switch into; the latter also works as a pivot through Volt Switch. Similarly, Dragonite also enjoys pairing with Galarian Slowking, which threatens Iron Valiant, Primarina and other Fairy-types that halt Dragonite's attack and can also pivot with Chilly Reception. Dragonite crushes its fellow Dragon-types like Roaring Moon, as well as other physical walls like Gholdengo and Skarmory, clearing the way for teammates like Ogerpon-W to wreak havoc. Dragonite can also take advantage of Water- and Grass-types like Rillaboom and Ogerpon-W, covering for defensive partners like Primarina, Landorus-T, and Great Tusk. Kingambit also appreciates Dragonite as a teammate, as Dragonite can lure in checks like Cinderace and Moltres before flipping the tables with Tera Fire, allowing for an easier late-game sweep with Kingambit.

Utilizing Loaded Dice and Scale Shot, Dragonite discovers a new way to speed through OU. The namesake of this set, Scale Shot, gives Dragonite a powerful STAB to hit many threats, 2HKOing the likes of Ogerpon-Wellspring and Darkrai, and OHKOing its fellow Dragons like Roaring Moon and Walking Wake. (Coulod mention Raging Bolt > Walking Wake? The Wake OHKO is great but it outspeeds Dragonite and can OHKO it even through Multiscale with Draco, whereas Dragonite outspeeding and OHKOing Bolt is pretty huge) Furthermore, after a +1 boost from Scale Shot or Dragon Dance, Dragonite can outspeed almost the entirety of the unboosted metagame, excluding Dragapult, Zamazenta, and Deoxys-Speed. Fire Punch slams the Steel-types that Scale Shot misses, like Corviknight and Kingambit. Finally, Encore shuts down both defensive and offensive Pokemon that dare to setup or recover on Dragonite, like Alomomola, Garganacl, and Primarina. (Maybe another option could be mentioned here like Corv / Skarm since w/o Tera Fire they still win the 1v1 because of ID, or Zama who does win without Encore? Alomomola isn't a bad mention but it gets setup foddered by this set anyway and can even be twoshot by +1 Scale Shot unless it gets the Scald burn chance, and Encore doesn't help much against that) Loaded Dice ensures Scale Shot is a reliable damaging move 90% of the time. Tera Fire boosts Fire Punch, pushing Corviknight into the 2HKO range, while ensuring it on Skarmory, Gholdengo, and Kingambit, as well nullifying Cinderace and Moltres's Will-o-Wisp, allowing Dragonite to turn potential checks into set-up opportunities. Due to Scale Shot's speed boosting side effect, Dragonite can comfortably run Adamant, guaranteeing the OHKO on threats like Raging Bolt and Kyurem. (A brief mention of Ice Spinner > Encore could be worth considering as otherwise this set has a rough time against Gliscor w/ Toxic, it only hits a couple targets though while the lack of Encore is pretty rough so I don't mind it being excluded or discussed further before mentioning)

With its power and versatility, Scale Shot Dragonite finds itself on Bulky Offense and Hyper Offense teams. To maintain its Multiscale, Dragonite finds itself with hazard control teammates like Glimmora, Great Tusk, and Hatterene, with the latter also serving as a status blocker from pesky defensive Pokemon like Dragapult and Gliscor. (I wouldn't call Dragapult a defensive Pokemon, the point being made is good but I would consider a separate mention of partners that can deal with Dragapult) An exceptional partner for Dragonite is Landorus-T, who brings both hazard support in Stealth Rock and hazard control in a fast Taunt, checks Zamazenta, and has the ability to bring Dragonite in safely through U-Turn. Similarly, Dragonite also enjoys pairing with Galarian Slowking, who threatens Primarina and other Fairy types that halt Dragonite's attack, and can also pivot with Chilly Reception. (Iron Valiant is a pretty important Pokemon that I'd mention explicitly here, as even after two DDs Dragonite can't KO it before being KOed itself) In return, Dragonite crushes its fellow Dragon types, as well as other physical walls like Gholdengo and Skarmory, clearing the way for teammates like Ogerpon-Wellspring and Raging Bolt to wreak havoc. (I get the point about handling fellow Dragons for Bolt, but Bolt doesn't struggle with the physical walls mentioned here. Could reorder to "Raging Bolt and Ogerpon-Wellspring" or mention Dragon-types that Dnite deals with - note that Dnite doesn't directly switch into many of these) Dragonite can also threatens take advantage of (It doesn't really inherently threaten Water-types with this moveset, it more so can set up on Pokemon with Water/Grass-type STAB attacks) Water and Grass types like Rillaboom and Ogerpon-Wellspring, covering for defensive partners like Primarina, Landorus-T, and Great Tusk.

Utilizing Loaded Dice and Scale Shot, Dragonite discovers a new way to speed through OU. (I'd add a mention of how this set is able to turn the table on Most of Dragonite's standard counterplay in the introduction, as that is this set's most notable selling point. Some key Pokemon this is effective against are Corviknight, ID + BP Zamazenta, and Air Balloon Gholdengo.) The namesake of this set, Scale Shot, gives Dragonite a powerful STAB to hit many threats, 2HKOing the likes of Ogerpon-Wellspring and Darkrai (I would personally change this to "OHKOing Darkrai and Ogerpon-Wellspring after a Dragon Dance", or something similar. 2HKOing Pokemon with average bulk unboosted doesn't sound as impressive.), and OHKOing its fellow Dragons like Roaring Moon and Raging Bolt. Furthermore, after a +1 boost from Scale Shot or Dragon Dance, Dragonite can outspeed almost the entirety of the unboosted metagame, excluding Dragapult, Zamazenta, and Deoxys-Speed. (If possible maybe mention how Scale Shot can make it progressively more difficult to revenge kill Dragonite when combined with Dragon Dance, but this point might be difficult to convey so its fine if you leave the sentence as is.) Fire Punch slams the Steel-types that Scale Shot misses, like Corviknight,(AC) Gholdengo,(AC) and Kingambit. Finally, Encore shuts down both defensive and offensive Pokemon that dare to setup or recover on Dragonite, like Corviknight, Zamazenta, Garganacl, and Primarina. (Primarina is a very awkward MU regardless so I would remove mentioning it. To my knowledge, it wouldn't want to set up on Dragonite anyways because boosted Earthquakes and Extreme Speeds are doing high damage to it from Dragonite's standard set.) Loaded Dice ensures Scale Shot is a reliable damaging move 90% of the time. Tera Fire boosts Fire Punch, pushing Corviknight into the 2HKO range, while ensuring it on Skarmory, Gholdengo, and Kingambit, as well nullifying Cinderace and Moltres's Will-oO-Wisp, allowing Dragonite to turn potential checks into set-up opportunities. Due to Scale Shot's speed boosting side effect, Dragonite can comfortably run Adamant, guaranteeing the OHKO on threats like Walking Wake and Kyurem.

With its power and versatility, Scale Shot Dragonite finds itself on Bulky Offense and Hyper Offense teams. To maintain its Multiscale, Dragonite finds itself with hazard control teammates like Glimmora, Great Tusk, and Hatterene, with the latter also serving as a status blocker from pesky defensive Pokemon like Moltres and Gliscor. (I'd emphasize that hazard control is doubly important on this set because Dragonite isn't running Boots. I'd also personally swap out Glimmora's mention with Iron Treads as well.) Speaking of status spreaders, Dragapult threatens to stop Dragonite in its flight with a speedy Will-o-Wisp and devastating Dragon Darts, so partners like Primarina and Iron Valiant are solid picks to scare this flight hazard it away. (Clever pun, but it took me a minute to understand this part and I thought you were talking about Dragonite, so it would be better to simplify. Maybe also mention that Dragon Darts can break multiscale.) An exceptional partner for Dragonite is Landorus-T, who brings hazard support in Stealth Rock and hazard control in a fast Taunt, checks Zamazenta, and has the ability to bring Dragonite in safely through U-Turn. (Calling it hazard control is a bit iffy, especially since several leads like Deo-S and Treads can outspeed Lando-T, as well as other Lando-T. Its not as universal as other Pokemon like Hatterene or Great Tusk. I'd just mention that Taunt can prevent rocks from a few key Pokemon like Glimmora and Ting-Lu.) Similarly, Dragonite also enjoys pairing with Galarian Slowking, who threatens Iron Valiant, Primarina and other Fairy types that halt Dragonite's attack, and can also pivot with Chilly Reception. In return, Dragonite crushes its fellow Dragon types like Raging Bolt and Roaring Moon, as well as other physical walls like Gholdengo and Skarmory, clearing the way for teammates like Raging Bolt and Ogerpon-Wellspring to wreak havoc. (Dragonite's interactions with Raging Bolt is a lot less reliable here than on other sets because of potential hazards damage and not running Extreme Speed to revenge kill it. Raging Bolt also commonly runs Tera Fairy which hurts this set particularly, though Encore can at least lock it into Calm Mind if it tries to set up. I'd remove its mention. I also don't see out Raging Bolt really appreciated the Pokemon you mentioned being removed, since it can Tera Fairy to beat the other Dragons and doesn't care about physical walls. ) Dragonite can also take advantage of Water and Grass types like Rillaboom and Ogerpon-Wellspring, covering for defensive partners like Primarina, Landorus-T, and Great Tusk.

(Mention Gholdengo and Iron Crown as partners. Gholdengo with Air Balloon can check key Pokemon like ID Zamazenta - which can be awkward for Dragonite's team to deal with in certain positions if Dragonite isn't on the field - and Kyurem, which is very rough for Dragonite to deal with because of Icicle Spear. Iron Crown similarly helps against Kyurem and can bring Dragonite in safely with Volt Switch against prime setup targets like Gholdengo. It can also help against Fairy-types like Hatterene and Primarina which are awkward to face. Air Balloon Kingambit has similar benefits against Kyurem and appreciates Dragonite's ability to lure and beat its counters like Moltres with Tera Fire. All 3 steel types are also good at punishing Tera Fairy Pokemon, which Dragonite can find awkward to face.)
