ok but sports betting barely counts as gambling because you're betting on the skills of someone else and not random chance
On the contrary, you are extremely exposed to random fluctuations in athlete performance (as well as things like injuries and bad officiating) when you bet on sports, especially if you bet on the multi-legged parlays advertised by platforms like DraftKings and BetMGM. Much like the r/wallstreetbets approach to investing, it's gambling with the veneer of educated predicting.

every time we do those i have my incredibly unlucky friend bet on people i dont like winning and it has like a 70% success rate
