This Hawlucha set relies on Mold Breaker, which makes it able to ignore the effects of defensive abilities such as Sturdy, Multiscale or Solid Rock, but more importantly, the effects of Unaware. Hawlucha then becomes an excellent Wallbreaker, able to freely use Swords Dance to cause trouble in the opposing defensive core, especially by attracting Unaware Pokémon like Dondozo, Clefable, Skeledirge and Clodsire, which it can hit neutrally thanks to its excellent Fighting/Flying STAB combination. Brave Bird is used to hit hard after a Swords Dance without needing to use an item first, as it does with Acrobatics. Sitrus Berry will help compensate for recoil damage, to take even more advantage of this set (that being said, Acrobatics with Sitrus Berry or a White Herb activating after the first Close Combat could be fair options also). Substitute allows Hawlucha to set-up more easily against defensive Pokémon with status moves, especially classic Gliscor, which becomes completely inoffensive once Hawlucha is behind a sub, but also to surprise Kingambit and Raging Bolt, who may want to revenge kill with their priority moves. The EV spread with Jolly Nature allows Hawlucha to outspeed Pokémon with a 110 speed stat or less, such as Latios, Ogerpon or Darkrai, while still being able to 2HKO most Unaware walls after a Swords Dance, but also 2HKO physically defensive Corviknight and OHKO offensive Great Tusk, specially defensive Ting-Lu, offensive Iron Crown, Primarina or Galarian Slowking. Tera Flying will increase the power of Brave Bird against Unaware Pokémon, all of which are neutral to Flying type, with the capacity to OHKO Clefable and Skeledirge and a guaranteed 2HKO on Dondozo after a Swords Dance, while also allowing Hawlucha to OHKO defensive Great Tusk.
As a Wallbreaker and “anti-Unaware” in particular, Hawlucha fits in very well with Hyper Offense and is an ideal teammate for setup sweepers such as Dragonite, Roaring Moon and Raging Bolt. It will benefit greatly from the entry hazard support provided by Suicide Leads including Glimmora, Hisuian Samurott or Excadrill. Meowscarada and Weavile will also be appreciated for their access to Triple Axel, very useful against opposing Flying types, but especially Knock Off, helpful to remove Rocky Helmets and to threaten Gholdengo, who stops this set. Hawlucha can be a valuable weapon in more robust teams also, such as Bulky Offense, and will benefit from the presence of Heatran to more easily weaken Skarmory or Corviknight, as well as the presence of Galarian Slowking which offers a great synergy, and which can also bring Hawlucha to battle in a safe way thanks to Chilly Reception. When it comes to threats to Hawlucha, Gholdengo will indeed be the main concern. Using Throat Chop may allow Hawlucha to OHKO offensive Gholdengo after a Swords Dance, but it would considerably reduce its overall offensive interest. The other main threats are Flying Pokémon in general, in particular Zapdos which this set does not affect, but also Moltres, whose talent is not affected by Mold Breaker, or even Corviknight and Skarmory with Iron Defense. Pokémon using Roar or Whirlwind, such as Ting-Lu and especially Zamazenta which is also faster and wins the duel, can be a burden for Hawlucha. Finally, Dragapult will be an excellent counter to Hawlucha because of its very high speed and its access to Infiltrator to get through the sub, and we would also have to watch out for Garganacl, which is always capable of getting away with some Ghost Tera for example.

Brutalibré devient ainsi un excellent Wallbreaker, capable d'utiliser librement Danse-Lames pour faire des trous dans le core défensif adverse, notamment en attirant des Pokémon tels que Oyacata, Mélodelfe, Flamigator ou Terraiste, qu'il peut toucher de manière neutre grâce à son excellent combo de STAB Combat/Vol. Rapace est destiné à frapper fort après une Danse-Lames sans avoir besoin d'utiliser un objet au préalable, comme c'est le cas avec Acrobatie. La Baie Sitrus permet de compenser les dégâts de recul de Rapace, pour rentabiliser davantage ce set (cela dit, Acrobatie couplée à la Baie Sitrus ou une Herbe Blanche s'activant après le premier Close Combat seraient aussi des options viables). Clonage permet à Brutalibré de se placer plus facilement contre les Pokémon défensifs utilisant des capacités de statut, en particulier le Scorvol classique, qui devient complètement impuissant une fois que Brutalibé est derrière son clone, mais aussi de surprendre Scalpereur et Ire-Foudre, qui voudraient venir revenge kill avec leurs attaques prioritaires. La répartition d'EVs avec la Nature Jovial permet à Brutalibré de dépasser les Pokémon avec une vitesse de base de 110 ou moins, comme Latios, Ogerpon ou Darkrai, tout en étant capable de 2HKO la plupart des utilisateurs d'Inconscient après une Danse-Lames, mais aussi de 2HKO Corvaillus physique et OHKO Fort-Ivoire défensif, Dinglu spécial, Chef-de-Fer offensif, Oratoria ou Roigada de Galar. La Tera Vol augmentera la puissance de Rapace contre les Inconscients, tous neutres au type Vol, avec la possibilité d'OHKO Mélodelfe et Flamigator et un 2HKO garanti sur Oyacata après une Danse-Lames, tout en permettant à Brutalibré d'OHKO Fort-Ivoire défensif.

Miascarade et Dimoret seront également appréciés pour leur accès à Triple Axel, très utile contre les types Vol adverses, mais surtout à Sabotage, indispensable pour faire tomber les Casques Bruts et menacer Gromago, qui bloque ce set. Brutalibré peut aussi être une arme précieuse dans des équipes plus robustes comme en Bulky Offense, et profitera de la présence de Heatran pour affaiblir plus facilement Corvaillus ou Airmure, ainsi que de la présence de Roigada de Galar qui offre une excellente synergie, et qui peut également amener Brutalibré sur le terrain en toute sécurité grâce à Neigeux de Mots. En ce qui concerne les obstacles auxquels Brutalibré sera confronté, c'est évidemment Gromago qui sera la principale préoccupation. L'utilisation d'Exécu-Son peut permettre à Brutalibré de OHKO Gromago offensif après une Danse-Lames, mais cela réduirait considérablement son impact offensif global. Les autres principales menaces pour Brutalibré sont les Pokémon de type Vol en général, en particulier Électhor que ce set ne touche pas, mais aussi Sulfura, dont le talent n'est pas ignoré par Brise Moule, ou encore Corvaillus et Airmure avec Mur de Fer. Les Pokémon utilisant Hurlement ou Cyclone, comme Dinglu et surtout Zamazenta qui est aussi plus rapide et gagne le duel, peuvent être un fardeau pour Brutalibré. Enfin, Lanssorien sera le contre parfait à Brutalibré grâce à sa vitesse très élevée et son accès à Infiltration pour passer à travers les clones. Il faudra aussi se méfier de Gigansel toujours capable de se sortir d'affaire avec une Tera Spectre, par exemple.
