1v1 Gem Sneaseler Gen 9 1v1 team

https://pokepast.es/200b90c179aa9b19

Hoopa-U is a stong physical attacker that breaks up protect strats and brute-forces some pokemon when the opp isnt paying attention

Prim is invested into physical bulk and Charm to but has Calm Mind to kinda do both. Weaknesss Policy turns Prim into a threat with Hydro Cannons that (hopefully) end the match.

Sneaseler carries gem and Fake Out, which ruins mons that have Turn 1 strats like Slaking and mons that can’t handle 678 Speed.

I hit 1275 with this i think

How do you fair into Encore+Disable Iron Valiant? They usually have Protect to deny Fake Out and Normal Gem, and they can KO Hoopa-U with Moonblast and lock Primarina into Calm Mind.

Some Calcs that I tried out as well:

:pmd/sneasler: VS :pmd/iron valiant:

252+ Atk Sneasler Dire Claw vs. 208 HP / 252 Def Iron Valiant: 242-288 (70.9 - 84.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (you can only really rng out of this)

0 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Sneasler: 144-169 (47.8 - 56.1%) -- 83.2% chance to 2HKO (thanks to protect valiant outspeeds and gets 2HKO most of the time)

:pmd/primarina: VS :pmd/iron valiant:

0 SpA Primarina Hydro Cannon vs. 208 HP / 0 SpD Iron Valiant: 297-351 (87 - 102.9%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO (if you miss the OHKO you get encored next turn and then disabled)

+1 0 SpA Primarina Draining Kiss vs. 208 HP / 0 SpD Iron Valiant: 300-354 (87.9 - 103.8%) -- 25% chance to OHKO (have to use calm mind to get this, and then you get encored and then disabled)

:pmd/hoopa-unbound: VS :pmd/iron valiant:

0 Atk Choice Band Hoopa-Unbound Zen Headbutt vs. 208 HP / 252 Def Iron Valiant: 330-390 (96.7 - 114.3%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

0 Atk Choice Band Hoopa-Unbound Gunk Shot vs. 208 HP / 252 Def Iron Valiant: 328-388 (96.1 - 113.7%) -- 75% chance to OHKO (both of these calcs can be denied by missing the KO or missing the move, both of these result in disable or just mblast)
0 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Hoopa-Unbound: 192-228 (53.1 - 63.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Overall quite a shaky MU, but let me know how you do into it!

yellow, 1v1 council here to rate teams i guessssssssssssssssssssssssssss

this is a pretty standard hoopa-prim core, as cb hoopa can deal with most of the poisons prim struggles with, on top of dealing with electrics like raging bolt. it also adds a sneasler to deal with steel- and grass-type pokemon, which is a smart move.

as pengu said, val is a big problem for sure, which is a big deal, given that val is in a lot of teams on ladder.
also i will correct something that pengu said
:pmd/sneasler: VS :pmd/iron valiant:
252+ Atk Sneasler Dire Claw vs. 208 HP / 252 Def Iron Valiant: 242-288 (70.9 - 84.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (you can only really rng out of this)
sneasler cannot dire claw the val, as it gets easily disabled and completely removes RNG out of the question, and acrobatics is only a 3HKO, since if sneasler tries to go for fake out and attempts to consume its normal gem, val will protect and just spam encore and moonblast until sneasler is down.

because of all of this. sneasler should be running Gunk Shot > Acrobatics to deal with Iron Valiant (yes, double poison move), as they have no choice but to pray that you miss gunk shot and encore you, since if they disable, you are free to click dire claw, and it's a 2hko. acrobatics doesn't hit anything btdubs.

also valiant is faster than you if it's specs and that set usually (always) carries psyshock, so if you suspect they're using specs make sure to load prim.

another potential problem that could be is corviknight. i couldn't think of a segue for this one.
offensive corviknight smacks prim with iron head and flinches maybe sometimes, ohkoes sneasler and 2hkoes hoopa, overall recommendation is calm mind with prim and get into torrent range if possible.

oh yeah also u-turn zapdos 3-0s your team but i couldn't think of a way of addending that so just errrr go sneasler and pray they miss hurricane and you don't miss your gunk shot.

you need to setguess goodra-hisui. if it's chople or custap berry you need to go hoopa and drain punch it regardless of how contradictory that just sounded, or if it's literally anything else you go sneasler and delete it.

scizor might look like a problem because it just ohkoes your hoopa sometimes and bullet punches your sneasler but your prim can survive two banded bullet punches so you just charm, get into torrent range and not miss hydro cannon.

pretty solid team, have fun on ladder!
