I think Dr.Traveler really hit the nail on the head here.
This discussion needs to stop. Garchomp stays in OU. If you hate fighting it, play BL/UU.
Using garchomp with SS support is for noobs.
How is it for noobs if it gets people wins?

Seriously? This is still going?
On topic: I'd be really curious if Shoddy Battle can give stats on how often Garchomp "Sweeps", or whether a team's Garchomp is still alive
when they win.
I hate fighting him. I do. But I've used him myself and he's hardly the invincible Super Pokemon people talk about, especially taken on his own with out support such as Sandstorm or Stealth Rocks.
People in this thread seem to want to assume that Garchomp is super powerful if:
1. He has Stealth Rocks in play to block his counters (Like BulkyDos).
2. He has Weather in play to activate Sand Veil.
3. He's used a Sword Dance.
What's funny about all these assumptions is this:
Go read http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17743 Its the first post on the RMT forum and says in particular this:
Why am I mentioning this?
Essentially the first thing you're supposed to learn in the RMT forum is that a cohesive team strategy is important. The GOOD thing that
Garchomp has brought to the D/P metagame is that people using Garchomp are doing EXACTLY what the RMT forum tells you to do: they built a strategy into their team (Support Garchomp)... and that Strategy clearly beat yours.
If there's a problem with Garchomp in the metagame it isn't his type, ability or stats. Not really. If anything the problem is that with Garchomp its pretty easy to build a cohesive strategy, maybe too easy.
Maybe the answer isn't to ban Garchomp, or even really worry about countering him. Maybe the real answer is that we all need to go to Pokemon Boot Camp and work on our team building strategy.
How is it for noobs if it gets people wins?
Once again you have put us all to shame with your amazing insight.
Same reason I kept my response length down....I feel like any more of an effort on my part will go to waste as I am sure everything has been said. 33 pages >.>
I've basically read the 1st two pages, and don't know if this has been suggested yet, but here it is.
Abomasnow@ChoiceSc Hasty (252 Atk, 252 spd)
-Blizzard
-Focus Puch
-Wood Hammer/ Hail
-EQ
basically switch in on a Garchomp's SD (or revenge) and choose to blizz if u think it's gonna stay (not likely), FP if it's gonna switch to TTar. If the Garchomp comes out again, take Abomasnow out to an appropriate poke to try and counter. If it faints, send out Aboma for another round. Choicescarf Garchomp is different, yet it's not the "metagame breaker" that we are discussing right now and I'm very tired so I wont suggest anything. This set has its counters (everything does though), but 4 out of 5 doctors do recommend it for better dental care.

Try to beat a Garchomp when it dodges all your attacks. alkjfalfjlsahf. It doesn't matter if you have a team of 6 Arecuses when you can't touch the bloody thing.
Since both Sandstreamers that are formidable pokemon in their own right, it makes it quite easy to set up those "favorable conditions", particularly when Hippo is already one of the best SR/Roar pokemon with its massive defenses. So that's 2/3 setups (Sand/SR) on turn one, not terribly difficult at all. It's not like "well if we have 3 layers of spikes, 2 layers of toxic and SR up, everything is screwed".
Because Abomasnow activates hail upon entrance. The others take a turn to use after switching to, unless you plan on giving every member of your team Rain Dance/Sunny Day.Why do have use you Abomasnow to rid stream why not rain dance? Stream teams have hell with well constructed rain dance teams. The same is true to a lesser degree sunny days.Think about it.
