SS OU SECRET SANTA 2024
Sign up Deadline: December 24th (Latest you can join and send your ideas in)
Building Deadline: January 7th (Latest you send the team in)

Happy holidays!

As most of you probably know, Secret Santa is an event in which the members of a community anonymously exchange gifts between themselves. In this particular Secret Santa, which is pretty similar to teambuilding workshop. Each person who signs up will send me a DM with a Pokemon or a core they'd like someone else to build a team with. Afterwards, everyone who joined the project will receive one of the aforementioned ideas and will have to build a team with it before the building deadline. Finally, the teams will be posted in this thread by everyone participating.
General Rules:
  • Post "in" or whatever else you want to (as long as the intent is clear) to join.
  • Don't sign up if you can't guarantee that you'll be able to finish building a team in time.
  • I'll try to keep tabs on everyone and help if needed, but depending on the amount of sign ups we get, it could be hard to do this.
  • Avoid telling people what request you sent/got, as it could ruin the surprise!
Request Rules:
  • Each request submission should be sent to me through Smogon PM.
  • You're allowed to change requests until the sign up deadline.
  • You don't need to do it right after signing up, but if you fail to do it until the sign up deadline then your sign up will be void.
  • Please try to request something that's reasonable to build around (e.g. don't request Magikarp!)
  • You can specify sets you want your requested Pokemon or core to use.
  • After sign-ups close, I'll use the same DM each user sent with their request in order to let them know the Pokemon or core that was assigned to them and who they're building for.
  • Once you're done building, post the team you made on the thread and share the gift!
Recommendations:
  • Don't be afraid to join just because you feel like your teambuilding skills aren't on par.
  • I'm willing to help everyone who feels this way, and don't be afraid to ask me about how to go about building on my discord, @/goldmason.
  • Just make sure you put in some effort and have fun!

Merry Christmas MemphisDepay , here is your Tapu Bulu team: https://pokepast.es/a4337d4c57418436

Classic SS Eeveetoteam, Lando, Primarina and Scizor are all slow pivots that check lots of threats and allow our own threats to come in. Band Weavile is the best breaker that exist vs Toxapex-less teams, it abuses the double hazard removal.
The last 2 Mons are the protagonists of this team, Bulu is a breaker with good coverage. It also brings the Grassy Terrain for the main star, Weakness Policy Blaziken. Blaziken lives almost all possible EQs in Grassy Terrain with these EVs:
0 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 148 Def Blaziken in Grassy Terrain: 168-198 (55.8 - 65.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 148 Def Blaziken in Grassy Terrain: 182-216 (60.4 - 71.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Melmetal Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 148 Def Blaziken in Grassy Terrain: 214-254 (71 - 84.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

Also weak Water moves:
0 SpA Slowbro Scald vs. 0 HP / 124 SpD Blaziken: 198-234 (65.7 - 77.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
0 SpA Tapu Fini Surf vs. 0 HP / 124 SpD Blaziken: 212-252 (70.4 - 83.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
44 SpA Slowking-Galar Scald vs. 0 HP / 124 SpD Blaziken: 162-192 (53.8 - 63.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

And the main coverage of public enemy of a healthy and diverse meta too:
252 SpA Heatran Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 124 SpD Blaziken: 226-266 (75 - 88.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

So, if any of those tries to stop Blaziken with effective moves, the chicken most likely ends at +4 (+3 vs Lando) and sweeps. Since Blaziken is supposed to sweep everything thanks to its item, Blaze Kick is better than Flare Blitz, in order to avoid killing itself.

The core of Lando (who usually has Defog instead of Rocks), Scizor, Primarina and Weavile pairs well with almost everything in this tier, as long as the last 2 Mons have enough offensive power (especially vs Toxapex, who walls Weavile) and at least one of them can somewhat handle Rain.

Hi Octiosling here's your 3 atks zap + cm taunt fini team https://pokepast.es/345a9fd98b52a922, also featuring jolly 4 atks weav, sd ada chomp, mixed rocks ferro, and spdf defog lando. Hope you enjoy it - I've been liking it a lot in tests.

As a fun extra here's a version with whirlpool weavile + cm flame clef https://pokepast.es/a95c998f3768a351 with the idea being to trap toxapex w/ weavile and then win with either clef or fini. This is an idea I brought to SCL finals in 2021 where pex was much more common, it still works now but it is very inconsistent.

YoruNoxx merry christmas here is your jirachi team, https://pokepast.es/14a223d8faa11025

1735661781938.png
landorus is our rock setter, it has earthquake which is its standard stab, explosion to damage pokemons that are not affected by earthquake and prevent defog, custap berry to attack first if we survive with little health

1735662065069.png
It's a bulky setupper with drain punch to hit steel types mainly and tyranitar, cosmic power to increase defenses and stored power damage, as well as wish to recover life in front of pokemons like corviknight and toxapex

1735662305007.png
bulkarona to take care of pokemons that prevent azumarill and rillaboom from winning like melmetal corviknight rillaboom

1735662400548.png
is a powerful wallbreaker with its huge power ability that doubles its attack along with belly drum, aqua jet being a priority move that can destroy almost everything with belly drum, knock to hit some walls that don't die to aqua jet ex: corviknight and play rough the same thing

1735662703216.png
another powerful wallbreaker with its high spatk and its ability berserk added to the nasty plot and agility, in addition to having high defenses which helps to survive effective attacks activating the weakness policy and making us stronger

1735662856516.png
another setupper that has grassy glide as a priority move, swords dance to increase attack, knock off and superpower to destroy other walls. In addition to his grassy terrain cutting the damage of earthquake which helps jirachi

GOATED im_m0rtal. I got you for this!

Your request was an offense with wish/turn/iron head/protect rachi. I really tried to make that set work, but I honestly just think it is irredeemably bad. It simply does not accomplish anything while it is on the field. I made some teams with SpD rachi with Body Slam > turn, using it alongside Mandibuzz for a pretty interesting defensive core, but those were not offense in the slightest, and I don't think they were all that good. So I decided to work with a different rachi set: Scarf Healing Wish.

:ss/jirachi::ss/kartana::ss/terrakion::ss/volcarona::ss/dragonite::ss/landorus-therian:

Terrakion is a Taunt + hazard lead that is importantly A) faster than Mew, B) anti-leads Tornadus-T, a common Taunt Lead, and C) is Terrakion, which everyone loves. Scarf Jirachi gives the team a good Tapu Lele switch-in while letting certain Pokemon like Dragonite and Landorus-T opt for more aggressive item choices. I opted for the rare Timid Kartana here because Jirachi isn't the greatest Speed control and also Jirachi can force some switches with Iron Head flinches on Tornadus-T which can be played around. SubSwarm Volcarona is another good recipient of Healing Wish that can give it another chance to set up if rocks do end up on the field. Inner Focus Dragonite makes it immune to Intimidate, while Extreme Speed gives it a good chance to snipe Weavile. Finally, Adrenaline Orb SD Landorus-T gives the team a Ground-type to pressure/score some surprise chip on Zapdos while offering a potential surprise wincon if other Landorus-T enter the field.

I know it isn't the original set you wanted, but I hope you have fun trying out this crackhead HO!
