**Overview**: Exeggutor's biggest shortcomings include its poor Speed, four-moveslot syndrome, poor coverage options, and a multitude of weaknesses, including to common moves such as Knock Off and U-turn. All of this causes it to be outclassed by comparable Grass-type Pokemon that are either stronger or bulkier. However, Exeggutor also has some pretty serviceable traits going for it, including a great Special Attack that can turn it into a solid wallbreaker, good utility options, and decent bulk paired with some neat resistances. Furthermore, it can use Harvest to check certain Pokemon with repeated Sitrus or Custap Berries.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Exeggutor can use Heavy-Duty Boots to bypass the entry hazards that might cut into its bulk whenever it hits the field.

Tera
========
Exeggutor is not a very good choice for a Tera Captain, since it is outclassed by better defensive and offensive Pokemon. If it is made a Captain, Exeggutor can benefit from Tera Steel, Fairy, and Grass to boost its defensive profile and remove many of its weaknesses. Offensively, Tera Fire gives Exeggutor coverage to to fry Steel-types that otherwise annoy it, and it can be very potent on sun teams.

Draft Strategy
========
Exeggutor is not going to be brought to most games and shouldn't be a major centerpiece, since it is flawed both offensively and defensively. That said, it's still serviceable and appreciates partners that can help deal with its common checks. This includes answers to U-turn and Knock Off as well as strong Fighting- and Fire-types to muscle past the Pokemon it struggles with.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bug-type Moves**: U-turn and other Bug-type moves prey upon Exeggutor's nasty 4x weakness to Bug. Bug Buzz from Pokemon such as Volcarona and Yanmega is bad news, since it bypasses Substitute. Many Pokemon that Exeggutor would like to check can also bring coverage to deny it from being useful.

**Knock Off**: Knock Off from strong Pokemon such as Kingambit, Mamoswine, and Metagross cripples Harvest sets and impedes Exeggutor's defensive profile even more.

**Bulky Steel-types**: Without Terastallization, various Steel-type Pokemon are able to blank Exeggutor offensively, including Corviknight, Bronzong, and Scizor.

**Disruption**: Exeggutor's low Speed can cause it to be easily disrupted by a wide range of Pokemon with Taunt and Encore, preventing it from making progress.

However, Exeggutor also has some pretty excellent serviceable traits going for it, including a great Special Attack that can turn it into a fierce wallbreaker, good utility options and decent bulk paired with some neat resistances. Furthermore, it can abuse Harvest to become an incredibly annoying roadblock that continuously heals itself with Sitrus Berries or a deadly wallbreaker with repeated Custap Berries. Though it is not going to be your traditional late pick in draft it can offer enough positive traits to be worth considering.

**Colbur Berry** Exeggutor can use Colbur Berry on Harvest sets to have a consistent way to deal with Knock Off, a move that would otherwise greatly annoy it.

**Other Resistance Berries**: Resistance Berries can allow Exeggutor to survive a Pokemon that will try to check it with a super effective attack, most commonly Tanga, Occa and Yache Berry. merge this section and colbur berry together

**Weakness Policy**: Exeggutor can use Weakness Policy combined with Endure to survive a hit and boost its offenses. This can be paired with Custap Berry to have priority afterwards or Trick Room.

Tera
========
As far as Tera goes, Exeggutor is also both very tera dependent while simultaneously not being the best choice for a secondary or even tertiary captain. Teams generally like having Pokemon that can be captains that don't necessarily need to terastallize to be effective which Exeggutor doesn't do very well due to its weakness prone type combination. Defensively, Exeggutor can benefit from Steel, Fairy and Grass as viable types that increase its longevity and boost its defensive profile by shedding many of its weaknesses. Offensively, Tera Fire can give Exeggutor the means to fry steel types with Tera Blast that otherwise annoy it and can be very potent on sun teams. Other types such as Electric and Ground can be useful to beat specific match ups.

Draft Strategy
========
Even the biggest fans of Exeggutor know that you should not be building a team where it is the centerpiece since it will be the last Pokemon you add to an otherwise good team. You want to construct a well rounded team with Exeggutor as an extra addition to increase its surprise factor. Removed the first part since it's obvious, just elaborate more on egg only really being drafted to patch a weakness on a team but it is generally outclassed by every other grass-type in its tier.

**Contact move punishers**: Since Exeggutor is very afraid of U-turn, having Pokemon that can punish it and physical attackers in general will help. Landorus-T, Garchomp and Skarmory are good partners that synergize well since they can effectively use Rocky Helmet to add chip damage. Many of these Pokemon can set entry hazards which will punish opposing U-turn as well. Pokemon such as Moltres and Zapdos are noteworthy since they can punish switch ins with Flame Body and Static respectively while Annihilape can punish contact moves with Rage Fist.

**Fire types**: Exeggutor can find itself unable to break past steel types that it can't touch aside from the rare Earthquake. Therefore, potent fire types such as Gouging Fire, Heatran, Talonflame will help with breaking these Pokemon down. Ninetales and Torkoal are also excellent since they bring sun support that allow Exeggutor to use Chlorophyll to good effect.

This overview is honestly too positive. It needs to highlight that Egg is worse than other 1pt grass mons and should almost never be taken for that reason; atm it spins it as a mon that could be a somewhat competitive 1pt pick but it isn’t

Would delete Chloro and rename wallbreaker to setup breaker or smth

Cut protect from utility, cut trick from niche and move to utility, cut stored power from niche and move to stab

Lefties to niche, add boots there too. Cut specs as it’s redundant with damage boosting items

This tera section is too long - it’s not a good tera captain and at most deserves 3 lines -

For draft strategy I’d cut out the comment above and the bullet points and replace it with something like the one on the Zorua-Hisui/Alcremie analyses (explicitly do not cut and paste, that is plagiarism). Just 1-2 lines explaining that egg isn’t ever the best fit but that it’s serviceable if people wanna use it

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Exeggutor can use Heavy-Duty Boots to bypass the entry hazards that might cut into its bulk whenever it hits the field.

Tera
========
As far as Tera goes (RC) Exeggutor is not a very good choice for a Tera Captain, (AC) since it is going to be outclassed by superior captains that are either better defensive Pokemon or more potent and offensive Pokemon. If you had to make it it is made a Captain, Exeggutor can benefit from Tera Steel, Fairy, (AC) and Grass to boost its defensive profile and remove many of its weaknesses. Offensively, Tera Fire can give gives Exeggutor the means coverage to to fry Steel-types with Tera Blast that otherwise annoy it, (AC) and it can be very potent on sun teams.

Draft Strategy
========
Exeggutor is not going to be brought to most games and shouldn't be a major centerpiece, (AC) since it is flawed both offensively and defensively. That said, it's still serviceable and appreciates partners that can help deal with its common checks. This includes answers to U-turn and Knock Off as well as strong Fighting- and Fire-types to muscle past the Pokemon it struggles with.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bug-type Moves**: U-turn and other Bug-type moves will prey upon Exeggutor's nasty 4x weakness and can threaten to OHKO it Bug. Bug Buzz from Pokemon such as Volcarona and Yanmega is bad news, (AC) since this will bypass it bypasses Substitute. Many Pokemon that Exeggutor would like to check can also bring bug coverage to deny it from being useful.

**Knock Off**: Knock Off from strong Pokemon such as Kingambit, Mamoswine, and Metagross will cripple Exeggutor with cripples Harvest sets and impede its impedes Exeggutor's defensive profile even more.

**Bulky Steel Types Steel-types**: Without Terastallization, various Steel-type Pokemon are able to blank Exeggutor offensively, including Corviknight, Bronzong, and Scizor.

**Disruption**: Exeggutor's low Speed can cause it to be outsped easily disrupted by a wide range of Pokemon who can threaten Exeggutor greatly in return with Taunt or and Encore, (AC) preventing it to prevent Exeggutor from making progress.
