Incredibly pleased to see Top 10 Players get Best Article this year - it's definitely one of the largest-scale projects I've had the pleasure of being involved in during my time here and for sure one of my favorites, taking teal, Shake, and I months to write and edit to a quality we were happy with(and Kev those same months to finally read and QC it), not to mention all of the incredible artists who came together on short notice when the original artist was no longer able to make it for us to make ten unique pieces for the article.
This is a lot of words to say that I don't usually make a big deal out of these awards since I get undeservedly nominated for a lot every year, but I'm very proud of this project in particular and am very very happy that you guys liked it too.

Pissog being ranked last is actually criminal asw. If you haven't seen his art, go follow this thread rfn (the latest posts in it are ridiculously good wtf)
Everybody knows Turtleye cause everybody wants a cava from him, but for those that haven't heard of Kiwi, y'all should def lock tf in and check out his art thread cause this guy has some of the coolest and most creative OCs I've ever seen. Anybody know's in smearglecord gets it. Kiwi just never drops the ball when it comes to character visual design, and I highly can't recommend his art enough.
Imma be real Grape Tylenol doesn't hang in any of the spaces I frequent so I got nothing for him, but just by taking a look at her I can tell that she has her shit figured out.
- that's is to say, why tf am I ranked number 2.
I honestly have 0 clue how and why I was even in contention for best artist, let alone the number 2 spot??? I've been seriously practicing art for like, barely over a year at this point, and I'm still figuring things out with each new piece I do. I attribute a bunch of my recent success to the way I figured out how to use bright and garish colors in my work, but I recognize that it's a bit of a handicap and that there's still a lot for me to learn when it comes to technical skill. I'm a little dumbfounded tbh, seeing that I'm ranked above so many artists that I admire and consider my seniors in almost every way.
uhh i'm not sure how to close out this post. I'm flattered that ppl like my art, but also I have a difficult time accepting that ppl didn't vote for me bc they're friends with me or something. I'm planning to still do a lot of art this coming year tho, and will be gunning for that #1 spot for smogawards 2025!!!

Oh my nachos! Best roomstaff and second best global staff, and all that in the year I essentially disappeared from half the site to put all my time towards making 1v1 a better place. It's been a great year in that regard, despite having to pick up a whole community leadership worth of work overnight and replacing a whole leadership team largely on my own, it's been incredibly rewarding seeing 1v1 transform from something people disliked on the outside to a genuinely positive community. It warms my heart to hear that despite my focus there I still made a considerable impact to the lives of others on PS, and I hope to continue to live up to the honour I received today.

thanks for the nominations and for the wins, though i can't say i understand why i won most overlooked user lol but i appreciate it nonetheless. i'd also like to take the time to say that everyone involved in best programmer definitely shouldve won at least once by now, everyone listed there has killed it throughout 2024 to make the projects that they contribute to as smooth as possible.
