would have made more sense back when my pfp was actually aoko but the short answer is that she doesn't actually shoot magic (you can't just send out mana willy nilly, that's not a thing unless you're yumina ig)

what she actually does is use her magic crest to turn mana into heat, and it's not even her mana. it's mana she "borrows" from her future self (borrows because in that future where the mana came from she can just like. do that again.) which is hot enough to turn the air around it into plasma.

iirc the only things that are really manifestations of pure mana are bounded fields, ether clumps, and whatever tf zelretch was doing

The world of neurodiversity and casual Nintendo gaming are two things I’m a pretty big supporter of, and adding a rotation of my favorite Pokémon is a neat way to keep the public engaged with my interests. In no particular order, Feraligatr, Pichu, Latios, Staraptor and Espeon all have significant nostalgic attachments for me for specific reasons, and Flygon’s on there because it got f***ing robbed the moment Garchomp came in and stole every ounce of spotlight it rightfully deserves. “Artist’s block” my a**, they knew what they were doing when they gave Aarune that Garchompite in ORAS.

It's my favourite mons by type, followed by some mild self-deprecation. The Why depends mostly on the When. It was during SwSh prerelease, which at some level makes the reasoning clear by itself. The idea was that if someone was going to say that it's worth cutting mons that nobody likes, they needed to look me in the proverbial eyes of my digital presence and admit to themselves that it does make the experience worse for actual people. But, you know, not at the level that it becomes obnoxious or anything.
