NOC Town of Salem 2 Mafia: Revival - WON BY THE MAFIA AND THE WITCH

alright, I watched Roxie last night and saw two targets.

one of them was Roxie themselves, and the other person visiting was the supposed angel Alice Kazumi
I did visit roxie but I'm confused, I'm an investigative role.

I'm still an angel!

Can we figure out Roxie's role from the fact they visited themself
Something that can self target and makes sense. Spy, transporter and trapper are the possible options

Bodyguard Crusader Doctor Dignitary all would've either killed the attacker or survived. Lookout and Spy could've viably self targeted although i think lookout should target someone else to catch kill
(I don't know how to un-quote this, ignore me)

Did you happen to learn anything useful, or that would contradict dbd?

Roxie is one of the following according to my results

Escort/Transporter/Consort/Hypnotist/Investigator/Consigliere/Tracker

Escort, tracker and investigator don't make sense.
Transporter doesn't visit according to role list so I'm just confused

The way I see it, we have three options for this:

- dbd is lying. This is probably the least likely, since Alice wouldn't confirm a lie like this unless they're both mafia doing some 1000iq play, or he got lucky and lied about something Alice actually did.
- Alice is lying. It's theoretically possible, since every possible role in the game is public knowledge and it'd be easy to choose one. Based on how the gunpoint mechanic is laid out in the document, it's impossible for a ninja-type mafia role and a janitor to both kill in one night, meaning it has to be Alice.
- Both of them are telling the full truth. This means that Roxie was the janitor, and a third-party transporter just happened to swap Roxie and her target, causing Roxie to accidentally kill herself. It's so implausible I'm not sure it's even worth considering, but it is technically an option.

I feel like one of dbd, Alice, or Roxie has to be mafia, given what we currently know, although enough people haven't checked in at all yet that I'm reticent to vote anyone yet. I don't think Alice and Roxie can be the same alignment, but this doesn't preclude both alice and dbd being town.

Would it be worth having the possible transporter claim so early, or would it be better to anonymously confirm their existence by having them transport again the next night?

Dbd doesn't have to lie. He can be a recon and know that I did visit roxie. Alternatively we can be both town as well, he can be saying all of this from a town pov.

I'm pretty sure the result I received is from someone else because it doesn't make sense that roxie is any of those roles, janitor isn't on the list either since you suggested about an accidental self-kill.

Is it possible that a mafia hypnotist also spawned in and happened to target you? That would be a plausible double target since it only involves one gunpoint ability from the document.

I really should go to sleep now I'll either be back in 9 hours or make 5 more posts tonight who's to say

But reading this a transported player should be told they are transported. My role can be confirmed by said person I think. The results I got should be from that second player.

I think it's very unlikely DBD is lying or making something up, in general the faster someone claims results the more trustworthy they are. plus the last time we played I got voted out after insta claiming my result and was town so hindsight bias is another plus here. the edge case is like mafia have some sort of crazy frame strategy or dbd is just going off script for no reason which tbh I have to say is within db d's scum range. I don't really have good knowledge of this setup so I'll let someone else figure out why scum!dbd might be looking to do this

thanks for doing this analysis this is helpful. I enjoy mass claiming but my understanding is that town of Salem is set up so that mass claiming is not very effective which makes me wary of doing so. can transporter be mafia? if they can then I think we want them to claim so we don't have mafia transporter randomly confusing the game.

meh

but then again, this role is so good. if transporter can self target I suppose they can play some mind games to get more juice out of the role. setting up 50/50s is just so strong and kind of forces mafia to look somewhere else or otherwise risk hitting themselves. idk. what's the normal town mafia ratio in this sort of game. 10-4-1?

DBD

I don't think anything has happened today so far is alignment indicative for him. It's likely he'd have the same reaction whether he was a town thinking he found scum or scum thinking he found a free mislynch. He is a lookout or a recon for sure though, I can confirm it because I did indeed target Roxie.

Roxie

The reason I investigated him was because of post 47. There was nothing happening on day 1 so someone mentioning the possible lineup having a witch got my attention. I don't think we'll know his actual role until the end of the game because I got someone else information so no idea about his alignment. Day 1 has no real readable content, me noticing this post was just trying to make reads out of nowhere honestly.

Miyami

There is definitely intent in solving here even if I don't agree with some of her conclusions. I don't think she is necessarily right by jumping into at least one of Roxie, DBD and me is scum but I have too much information because I know my role pm. I'm not sure about getting the transporter to claim Idea though, I'd prefer is it was the transported one that confirmed what I said.

Other than those users is hard to form reads. I guess Evie gives me similar vibes to Miyami but a bit more reserved, Lechen is relatively active but his content can be easily faked as a mafia... We need more activity here!

i think i should just claim this
i was transported last night and my role is in the list alice sent
so it is very much possible i got swapped with roxie and was supposed to be the n1 kill potentially

gm my today will suck btwn what medical appts i have sry in advance

you're a more logical n1 kill in circus maximus meta for some people for sure tbh, roxie dying n1 feels wack for a community that often bends itself out of shape to keep newer players alive

I don’t see how Alice is town unless Roxie somehow targeted themselves with the kill, if anyone got transported please claim it - if not, then I’m inclined to vote her off
