As pride month comes to its beginning, and i am extra GAYYYYYYYYYYY I have to actually live up to this— so here's a quick discussion starter:
What Pokemon are queercoded, what would they identify as, and, most importantly, what is the impact on the OU Metagame??

I'll start with one:


y'all already KNOW tapu fini is a lesbian— but more specifically a trans lesbian. that color pallate in conjunction with its fairy typing and quiet vibes just scream that to me idk why exactly— it just feels right. Tapu Fini's coming out didn't really do anything for the OU Metagame, she's on sabbatical in Alola & to be honest everyone kind of already knew. Ferrothorn's bitch ass is complaining and saying something about how if masculinity wasn't being threatened this never would have happened, but Victini took him back to Unova to teach him a few lessons after his homophobic stunts last generation.

With her adrogynous looks, she obviously made comrades a bit confused at first on what set is her gender. But after coming out, most of the pokemon in OU didn't care as they are chill with her and their vibezzz. (Ferrothorn is banned from Paldea so we don't know his take.)

Admittedly I'm not an expert on queer coding, mostly since I'm straight as a ruler, but I do have a few mons to add!


Seems to me like a trans guy. Like, look at his evo line.


He passed through being a shy and insecure little child who senses something isn't right with being, to a denial phase were he overcompensates and became a ballerina, and finally picking the dawn stone and living as his true self with confidence!


I've also seen people marking gardevoir as a trans woman and even a trans gallade specifically. Admittedly I'm not sold on that one, but maybe I'm just biased cuz gallade is one of my all time favorite mons...

The teraleak actually revealed a very wholesome scrapped story with these two!

As I said, I'm not an expert on queer coding, but in a nutshell, dustox is revealed to be bi after their childhood crush mothim came out as a trans guy. But if someone can provide a more informed perspective, I'd be happy to oblige!
