Welcome to the eleventh Smogon Classic! This tournament celebrates Smogon's and Pokemon's history throughout the years. Players will compete in separate tournaments for the RBY, GSC, ADV, DPP, and BW generations, culminating in a play-off stage where the contestants must play all five generations with the coveted white trophy on the line

The format is the same as previous editions and consists of five separate tournaments: the BW Cup, the DPP Cup, the ADV Cup, the GSC Cup, and the RBY Cup. Each tournament is single elimination, best of three. Depending on your performance in a Cup, you will be awarded points. The point system is the same as the one used in Smogon Grand Slam; you can find the points tables here. When all the Cups have been finished, the sixteen players with the most points will advance to the play-offs. There they will battle in a best of five series until there is one undisputed Smogon Classic champion.

Signups for each Cup will be posted a week after the signups for the previous Cup. Here is the list of the five Cups with the names of the hosts and the dates each signup thread will be posted:
  • BW Cup - Hosted by a fairy - Signups on June 15th
  • DPP Cup - Hosted by Hiro' - Signups on June 22nd
  • ADV Cup - Hosted by mason - Signups on June 29th
  • GSC Cup - Hosted by Nashrock - Signups on July 6th
  • RBY Cup - Hosted by adorluigi - Signups on July 13th
If there are any questions, then you can post in this thread or message me privately. Please do not use this thread as a venue to complain about the format.

Important notes
  • (NEW) The point system has been adjusted to match the current point system of Smogon Grand Slam. This means Cups will award 1 point per win until the round of 32, and wins from that point onwards will award 2 points.
  • Reminder that replays will be required starting in Round 2 of every Classic Cup.
    • (NEW) Mandatory replays in winposts must be easily findable and accessible. Basically just link them in order like a sane human being and you'll be fine. First and good faith offenses will be met with a warning and a requirement that your winpost be edited, repeat offenders will be infracted.
  • Tiering changes to the metagames in this tournament might not immediately affect this tournament the round after they happen.

Prize

Also, this edition of Smogon Classic will award a cash prize to top finishers! The winner of the tournament will receive $100, and the runner up will earn $50, courtesy of chaos. If you're interested in donating towards the prize pool for Smogon Classic, please contact me or another Tournament Director!


 
how do you sign up for these events? also how many teams are we allowed to use in one bo3? is it only 1, if so do we have to keep that team for the whole tournament

you can sign by posting "in" in one of the signup threads, or "in as sub" in some of the r1 threads if subs are still being accepted (the post should say if subs are open or not.)

You can use 3 different teams in a bo3, and you can change teams as the tour goes on

I just want to clarify if I understand it correctly. So the 16 players who are going to the play offs will have to battle 5 gens "RBY, GSC, ADV, DPP, and BW format" for a best of 5 rounds?

Bem-vindos ao décimo primeiro Smogon Classic ! Este torneio celebra a história da Smogon e do Pokémon ao longo dos anos. O formato é o mesmo das edições anteriores e consiste em cinco torneios separados: a Copa BW, a Copa DPP, a Copa ADV, a Copa GSC e a Copa RBY. Cada torneio é de eliminação simples, melhor de três. Dependendo do seu desempenho em uma Copa, você receberá pontos. O sistema de pontos é o mesmo usado no Smogon Grand Slam; você pode encontrar as tabelas de pontos aqui . Quando todas as Copas são concluídas, os dezasseis jogadores com mais pontos avançam para os play-offs. Lá, eles lutarão em uma série melhor de cinco até que haja um campeão indiscutível do Smogon Classic.

As inscrições para cada Copa serão publicadas uma semana após as inscrições para a Copa anterior. Aqui está a lista das cinco Copas, com os nomes dos anfitriões e os dados em que cada tópico de inscrição será publicado:
  • BW Cup - Organizada por uma fada - Inscrições até 15 de junho
  • Copa DPP - Organizada por Hiro' - Inscrições em 22 de junho
  • ADV Cup - Organizado por mason - Inscrições em 29 de junho

Notas importantes
  • (NOVO) O sistema de pontos foi ajustado para corresponder ao sistema de pontos atual do Smogon Grand Slam. Isso significa que as Copas concedem 1 ponto por vitória até as oitavas de final , e as vitórias a partir desse ponto concedem 2 pontos.
  • Lembre-se de que serão necessários replays a partir da Rodada 2 de cada Copa Clássica.
    • (NOVO) Os replays obrigatórios em winposts devem ser facilmente encontrados e acessíveis. Basicamente, basta vinculá-los em ordem, como um ser humano é, e você estará bem. As infrações de primeira e boa-fé serão punidas com uma advertência e a exigência de que seu winpost seja editado; reincidentes serão punidos.
  • Mudanças de níveis nos metagames deste torneio não podem alterar este torneio imediatamente na rodada seguinte a elas.

Além disso, esta edição do Smogon Classic estreia os primeiros apresentados com um prêmio em dinheiro! O vencedor do torneio receberá US$ 100, e o segundo colocado, US$ 50, cortesia da chaos.
