It is recommended to play all games on SmogTours in the most current version of the format corresponding to those listed above. Games can be played on the Pokemon Showdown main server, but run higher risk of interference from server restarts/crashes.​



Scheduling
Scheduling should be done on Smogon Profile walls, plain and simple:​
- If there is communication on only one user's behalf, the win will go to them. Feel free to call activity in this thread beforehand​
- If there is a very healthy back and forth regarding potential times and one user is a no-show, a manager may take the opportunity to sub out the no-show competitor; if this is not done, the user that showed up responsibly will be awarded the win.​
TL;DR: Post on your opponent's Smogon wall, schedule your matches, and be reliable. If you can't play for any reason, let your manager know so they can sub you out ASAP.​



Sportsmanship
Exhibitions of unsportsmanlike conduct with regards to the Other Metagame Premier League will be met with an infraction at the discretion of the OMPL host/OM mods. This is unlikely to include interactions within a team's private chat unless there is reason found to make an exception. This rule is meant to protect other users from being publicly flamed/bashed/provoked by another competitor for the duration of and following the tournament.​

All players must complete their matches by the given deadline. Any incomplete matches by that time will be subject to an activity decision (MAKE SURE YOU POST ON YOUR OPPONENT'S WALL); otherwise, it will be a deadgame. All matches should ideally be done on your most notable alt to avoid confusion and all match replays must be saved and posted in this thread.​



Substitutions & Lineups
Managers, if you wish to make any substitutions, you must post here tagging both the player you're subbing out, the player you're subbing in, the manager and assistant manager of the opposing team, the substitute's opponent, and all of the hosts. This is to assure that everyone is in-the-loop and that the OP is updated accordingly to reflect the new match-up.​

AAA: Maybca☆〜ゝ。∂ vs Glory | i think glory is prone to loading samey stuff too much and those kinds of teams dont tend to be that good, and maybca is a hard prepper albiet theres obviously an experience gap here.
AAA: Iride vs feen | irides teams and play has been more impressive to me

Bo3: damflame 3 vs FlamPoke - was incredibly impressed by flampoke's performance, if he can back it up this week that would be incredible for him. however damflame is a lot more experienced across all the metagames than he is, so a double upset is a tough ask

STAB: word vs avarice - word has had an incredible season, and should really be 7-0. avarice is obviously an incredible clicker but word has demonstrated to be very good in builder

GG: Nashrock vs entrocefalo - this one is gna be close but i've liked nashrock's builds more than entro's

We meet today to mourn the loss of Redflix and Osake and rest of the Zoomer Zeraoras.

Both Flix and Osake have been mainstays in the Other Meowtagames community for quite some time now, with Redflix previously managing in OMPL XI with Quantum Tesseract, and Osake having managed/shadow-managed in some form OMWC/OMFL/whatever other tour. While (to my knowledge) neither has been too active playing current gen OMs, both have enough experience and skill to pick metas up and help out their players where need be.

Neither manager decided to self-buy, which I found to be a little bit strange, especially for Flix, who has shown a lot of skill/knowledge in the current MnM metagame and considering the MnM pool is probably the weakest it's been ever. But, playing is a big commitment so I understand why both wanted to stay on the sidelines, considering how good their support is as well.

RE: The draft - I'm less knowledgeable here than I have been in the past. Ice and quojova were their two of their biggest bets, and both have long shown they have a very high floor in terms of level. quojova is a self-reliant player, and while (imo) he's never been the best-of-the-best, he's always been a consistently top 3-5 BH player and almost always goes even or better. Ice is one of the best clickers in OMs, and is a strong builder, and slotting him in a tier like Bo3 gives him room to flex his skill more and worry less about rng given the format. Zoe and Kaif were the other two players significant money was spent, and I can't really comment on if they were "worth" it at the time of the draft. Unfortunately both went negative, meaning the Zeraoras started out each week 2-2 among their high-money slots and that they had to rely more on their less-expensive players to win each week. Siamato and fraise, both French players that I'm sure Osake requested, went 2-3 respectively, which for 8-10k each isn't ideal, but is close enough to even. The big "mistake" was bringing Tect out of hiding to play MnM again. I'm not gonna shade Tect because I don't think it's exactly his fault he didn't succeed. Personally, I've never found him to be consistent at all, and while he has a high ceiling and can win some games, it's not only difficult on your mental health as a bystander (bro is like a little yappy dog he never stops talking) (all love tho) but playing-wise I think he at best gives you a slot that goes 3-4 or 4-3, with it more likely that he does worse than better. For 3-4k I think he's a fine pickup, but, peace and love, the days of him going positive I think are over, if only because he's not tapped into the metagame anymore. I tested with him and he barely knew any of the new gen stuff....peace and love tho I love tect. Also shoutouts to Lana for going 6-1 as a sub10k player, hell yeahhhh

Regardless, it's obviously an unfortunate finish for Flix/Osake. I think the draft itself was a solid B, there just needed to be some more flexibiltiy among slots, because when Tect didn't work out, it wasn't possible to move Ice out of Bo3 and then slot someone else in there or vice versa. The backup MnM plan was...nobody who had played the tier before. Obviously, there aren't a ton of solid players who can flex between tiers, but at the same time, having such rigidity isn't great either. Quojova only plays BH, I've only ever seen Zoe play PIC, Siamato doesn't really play other tiers at this point I don't think - which is just to say that while often solo tier players have a higher ceiling, there's also less you can do if it doesn't work out. Just food for thought

anyways Osake smells and should retire
