[SET COMMENTS]
Scale Shot paired with Loaded Dice allows Flygon to damage and outpace foes like Munkidori, Kilowattrel, and Choice Scarf Flamigo, while crucially giving it coverage to threaten the tier's most common Defog user in Altaria. First Impression allows Flygon to revenge kill weakened foes like Drednaw, Munkidori, and Scream Tail. Throat Chop allows Flygon to block sound based attacks from foes like Sylveon and Toxtricity as well as hitting Bronzong. Dragon Tail can also be used allowing Flygon to force up sweepers like Shell Smash Drednaw and Bulk Up Scrafty, however it prefers to run other moves due to them having more utility and being more usable. U-turn lets it freely pivot and chip walls like Bronzong, Swampert, and Gligar while bluffing a Choice Scarf set. Insect Plate increases the power of both First Impression and U-turn while Leftovers provides Flygon useful recovery. Rocky Helmet can be used to punish Pokemon like Munkidori and Flamigo by chipping them, but Flygon lack of any recovery makes it prefer running other items. Tera Steel lets it better handle threats such as Munkidori, Sylveon, and Trick Room Diancie, while Tera Fairy allows it to better handle Fighting- and Dark-types like Flamigo, Scrafty, and Incineroar, on top of walling opposing Flygon. Tera Bug gives First Impression and U-turn an extra power boost, but gives Flygon a weakness against Stealth Rock.
Faster Pokemon like Munkidori, Kilowattrel, and Choice Scarf Flamigo can easily revenge kill Flygon. So it best partners with defensive walls like Bronzong, Galarian Slowbro, and Bellibolt to check them. Wallbreakers like Chandelure, Substitute Basculegion-M, and Swords Dance Flamigo appreciate Flygon’s U-turn giving them free entry on passive walls such as Vaporeon, Bronzong, and Amoonguss. Spikes setters such as Diancie, Klefki, and Overqwil synergize greatly with Flygon, since they can help each other wear down shared checks like Bronzong, Wo-Chien, and Amoonguss. Special walls like Bronzong, Copperajah, and Wo-Chien can help Flygon by better handling special attackers like Sylveon, Alolan Ninetales, and Uxie. Wish Passers like Vaporeon and Sylveon provide Flygon useful recovery allowing it to repeatedly switch into threats like Toxicroak, Munkidori, and Kilowattrel.
