How viable do you guys think Magnezone is for the recent shift? He got a few steel type competition so I thought he could potentially thrive with a specs analytic set.

Hello! I recently found my way into this tier due to my favorite Pokemon (flygon) is in this tier in singles, so, how is she currently used in this format and what are some good Pokemon to pair with him?

Magnezone hasn't seen a ton of use yet, but you're right to think Choice Specs + Analytic is good on it:

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Analytic
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 120 HP / 252 SpA / 136 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Tera Blast

You can mess with the Speed EVs, but I think this moveset is your best bet when using Magnezone. Tera Blast Grass complements its dual-STAB coverage very nicely, only missing out on Rotom-H, which is taking a lot from your Analytic Thunderbolts anyway.

I've mostly seen Dragon Dance Flygon on hyper offense lately, but Choice Scarf is still a fine set. Its issue right now is an increase in competition for its niches of offensive Ground-type and Choice Scarf user. The latter is really where you see it hurt in my opinion, as we got multiple new Choice Scarf users that are simply faster and stronger than it, such as Mienshao, Infernape, Lycanroc-D, and even Munkidori.

Hmm okay, thank you so much for responding to me! That’s quite unfortunate that it isn’t all that great anymore but I still wanna see what I can do to make it work! Thank you again!

what makes toxicroak so good lately? I saw it jump a huge amount in usage in the july stats when it was practically nowhere in june

I don't play NU a whole lot, but toxicroak's reason for jump in usage is basically because it does very well because water types in general are thriving. Vaporeon has risen as one of the best defensive waters in the tier after slowbro left for RU, and toxicroak sits on it all day. Inteleon has also risen in viability and stopping it from spamming specs/scarf hydro pumps is big, alllowing it to setup up on the spot. Finally, rain teams have been very good in the tier, and toxicroak helps a ton against them, as its able to switch in on choice locked water moves, set up with sd, and then ko back with boosted (usually tera'd) sucker punches.

Is there a reason why Webs (and by proxy, Galvantula) is considered bad in NU? Cinccino can’t be the only reason, right?

The main reason is Cinccino. It is by far the best hyper offense lead, and its multi-hit moves alongside Tidy Up just entirely negate any utility Galvantula (or other Webs setters) might have. The fact that Cinccino is a common hyper offense lead gives Galvantula and Webs competition, and it’s simply a better Pokemon. This is only worsened by how common Boots are in a metagame without good hazards control + Flygon, Flamigo, and Kilowattrel being immune to Webs and fast (through Scarf or naturally so) don’t help. All of these factors make Webs / Galvantula practically a worse gamble than if you just did screens Klefki or sash Cinccino.

So how good is Rhyperior in this tier and who can I pair it with?
Hey! Rhyperior is an awesome mon the tier, hovering somewhere around A+/S on the viability rankings depending on who you ask. It'll generally always run some sort of tank set with the moves Earthquake / Temper Flare / Ice Punch, giving it nearly perfect coverage, but it has a ton of variability in its last slot and item which makes it a bit unpredictable and allows the user to adapt Rhyperior to whatever team it might find itself on. Options can include, Stealth Rock, Rock Polish, Swords Dance, Dragon Tail, Megahorn, Tera Blast, and more with items ranging from Leftovers to Weakness Policy to Assault Vest to whatever else you might want. It's a major part of why it's so good.

Generally this mean Rhyp can fit well with a few types of Pokemon depending on what you're looking for. It will primarily be paired on bulkier teams with defensive Pokemon like Tsareena, Altaria, Cramorant, Vaporeon, Scrafty, etc who support Rhyperior's weaknesses quite well or together with the Steel-types like Copperajah and Bronzong who appreciate that Rhyp can become the rocker and let them run a different set and vice versa. I recently made a post as well here describing the merits of Cinccino as a partner with Rhyperior, something which allows the Pokemon to be more easily run on an offense or different sorts of balances. The Sample Team thread linked here has some examples to check out of more balancey teams and here's a replay from the ongoing tournament LTWC where Django used it on a really cool looking Hyper Offense. There are plenty more examples from recent tournaments as well. Hope this helps!
