Mamoswine is a fantastic pick on Ice teams that provides colorful utility with its access to Stealth Rock and immunity to Electric-type attacks along with great coverage against Steel-types. Earthquake enables Mamoswine to clear troublesome Steel-types such as non-Air Balloon Heatran, Hisuian Goodra, and Bisharp, which are a great threat to Ice teams. Ice Shard lets Mamoswine get around its mediocre Speed stat and allows it to finish off faster weakened threats such as Dragapult, Meowscarada, Landorus formes, and Tornadus-T. Smack Down cripples Flying-types that are weak to Ground-type moves without the immunity such as Zapdos and Corviknight. In addition to this, Smack Down threatens foes such as Articuno, Moltres, and Volcarona. Alternatively, Icicle Crash gives Mamoswine leverage to eliminate foes such as Roaring Moon, Mandibuzz, Ting-Lu, and Hippowdon. The given EVs allow Mamoswine to outlast defensive Corviknight by getting 3HKOed by Body Press after Leftovers recovery, survive +1 Flamethrower from offensive Volcarona and OHKO it in return with Smack Down, and outspeed maximum Speed Adamant Iron Hands.
Alolan Ninetales is a great partner for Mamoswine, as it sets snow and Aurora Veil, allowing Mamoswine to stand longer on the battlefield to take on foes such as Ceruledge and easily set up entry hazards. It also threatens Fighting-type foes such as Great Tusk and Urshifu-R. Cloyster is a great ally that can become very threatening after a Shell Smash, taking care of Fire-type threats such as Ogerpon-H and Ceruledge. Similarly, Cetitan is another partner that can set up with Belly Drum to become very fierce and wipe out foes such as Metagross and Iron Treads. Avalugg provides Mamoswine a clean path to enter by removing hazards with the help of Rapid Spin, while the IronPress combination allows it to outlast physical attacking Water-types foes such as Ogerpon-W and Barraskewda. Kyurem and Weavile are offensive partners for Mamoswine, with Kyurem being a special-attacking powerhouse that removes a lot of annoying Pokemon such as Archaludon and Toxapex, while Weavile is a great physical attacker that dismantles threatening foes such as Gholdengo and Gallade. Froslass is an ally that serves as a suicide lead, providing great utility by setting up hazards with Spikes; spreading status with Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave on foes like Dragapult, Sneasler, and Excadrill; and eliminating foes with Destiny Bond, allowing Mamoswine to wreak havoc more easily.
