Nasty Plot Tornadus-T's role in OU is being a specialized balance breaker, with even the bulkiest teams falling to both withstand its attacks, its coverage and failing to make permanent damage thanks to its ability Regenerator. Heat Wave is used to hit Steel-types like Gholdengo, Kingambit, Iron Crown, and Corviknight. Grass Knot can be used to tie to the ground heavy soldiers like Ting Lu, Dondozo and Garganacl. Focus Blast is aimed to use Blissey, Hisuian Samurott and Kingambit as bowling pins, while also retaining strong hits against Ting Lu and Garganacl. Knock Off can be used as a more passive yet safer way to deal permanent damage to defensive cores via the removal of items, which, combined with hazard stacking tactics, can be very hard for defensive teams to answer. Additional options include Dark Pulse, with Tera Dark you can threaten KOs against Dragapult, Pecharunt, and OHKO Galarian Slowking after a Nasty Plot. But also has the extra benefit of resisting Sucker Punch from Kingambit. Tera Ground Tera Blast can be used to turn the tables against Raging Bolt and its terrifying Thunderclap This also lets it have an accurate and safe way to blow up all Steel, and Fire-types like Ceruledge and Heatran, alongside the aforementioned Galarian Slowking and Garganacl. All at the cost of your Tera and a moveslot. Life Orb is the recommended item thanks to its power boost, allowing Tornadus-T to achieve thresholds like OHKOing Gliscor with a +2 Bleakwind Storm, and its loss of health drawback being partially nullified with Regenerator. But Heavy-Duty Boots are a great option to avoid all hazard damage. For Terastalization recommendations we have Tera Steel, because it resists Stone Edge from Zamazenta, Tripple Axel from Weavile, Psycho Boost from Deoxys-Speed and Draco Meteor from Dragapult moves, this is important because these pokemon are faster than Tornadus-T and can force it out or kill it outright. While Tera Flying is used to boost its main STAB. An example of this is being able to 2HKO Dragonite through Multiscale with Life Orb support
This set lives in Offense, Bulky Offense and Balance teams that want a force of nature that can almost single-handedly destroy bulky balances. The biggest problem for Tornadus-T is that in exchange for being so good against the defense metagame, it has troubles into the offensive one. With Dragapult, Weavile, Deoxys-Speed, Meowscarada and Zamazenta being naturally faster and all pack powerful moves against it. While Iron Valiant, a common speed control, can also pack Thunderbolt. While normally beating Ogerpon-Wellspring, if It's willing to use terastalization, it can very easily trade with Ivy Cudgel. And finally, Scizor and Raging Bolt have super effective STAB priority moves to strike the skies down. Special mention goes to Zapdos, who's one of the few defensive pokemon that can scare Tornadus-T away. For these reasons, pair Tornadus-T with pokemon that can handle offense but can struggle on defense. Both Kingambit and Dragonite love watching all of Moltres, Galarian Weezing, Great Tusk and Dondozo being afraid of Bleakwind Storm, Corviknight and Skarmory of Heat Wave, all of them gone means they can freely spam moves to their heart's content. Kingambit in particular can go toe to toe against Tornadus-T checks, like Dragapult as well as Weavile and Deoxys-Speed. Zamazenta can come in on Scizor while also drawing priority moves aimed at Tornadus-T like Kingambit's Sucker Punch, and Dragonite's Extreme Speed. In return, Tornadus-T can overwhelm Galarian Slowking as a duo, and can help destroy the aforementioned metal birds, opposing Gholdengo, and the occasional Okidogi used to check Zamazenta. Ogerpon-W can help Tornadus-T in a plethora of ways, since Ogerpon-W can also help overwhelm defensive cores via either its massive damage output or its tools like Knock Off and Spikes, which it can use to chip the opposing walls; Ogerpon-W can also overwhelm shared checks like Zapdos or Raging Bolt the same way. If running Life Orb as the item, consider adding hazard removal support, Great Tusk is a superb option for this, as he can also help handle pokemon like Kingambit and Dragonite. Clefable has Knock Off and can reliably bait Galarian Slowking into taking one and losing its item, making it easier for Tornadus-T to break. It also has Stealth Rock too and can use extra tools like STAB Moonblast and Thunder Wave, allowing Tornadus-T to outspeed faster pokemon, allowing it to unleash its wrath, Clefable also appreciates having steels out of the way. While not having Knock Off, Ting Lu and Garganacl can be quite effective, since both have hazards, the former stone walls Zapdos and handles Raging Bolt. Garganacl meanwhile, can still check Zapdos but can also take on Dragapult.
