Explanation of Role: Wall with an interesting defensive profile lacking reliable recovery, or a set up sweeper with either CM or SD. Pokemon: Rulkhion (Rukh + Falchion)
Type:
Flying.png
Rock.png

Abilities: Merciless / Unburden
Stats: 80/92/65/60/100/110 (507)
Viable Moves:
Physical.png
: Mighty Cleave, Rock Blast, U-turn, Drill Peck, Fly, Double-Edge, Temper Flare
Special.png
: Heat Wave, Ancient Power, Air Slash
Status.png
: Pain Split, Substitute, Protect, Stealth Rock
Flavor Moves: (no Rest or other setup moves)
Physical.png
: Pluck, Wing Attack, Peck, Sky Drop, Rock Throw, Smack Down, Rock Slide, Fury Swipes, Crush Claw, Strength, Retaliate
Special.png
: Air Cutter, Uproar, Hyper Voice
Status.png
: Growl, Scary Face
Flavor (Optional): Mix between a Roc and a Stymphalian bird, with wings made out of chocolate chips stone blades.
Weight: 70kg.
Explanation of Role: The base idea is to introduce a Rhydon equivalent for this tier's Snorlax. Rulkhion's primary role is a specially bulky offensive pivot meant to serve as a temporary Ground immunity, taking around 25% from Fire Blast and less to Sludge Bomb, but gets chunked really hard by Power Gem/Ancient Power (60%) and Dragon Darts (80%).
All these resistances are balanced by a lack of reliable recovery (needing to find good angles to click Pain Split) and being forced into Heavy-Duty-Boots. Rulkhion also doesn't have enough power to force out the sovereign (Dual Wingbeat does 30-36% on Adamant vs offensive sets), relying instead on U-turn to chip them.

Rulkhion is also meant a fast option for revenge killing or cleaning the game, having access to a good Rock STAB in Mighty Cleave and being able to hit steels with Temper Flare. Both of these attacks are resisted by Lindwallow.

Merciless is meant to synergise with Lindwallow's poison spreading to help Rulkhion have an easier time cleaning (it may be broken if we get a Toxic Spikes user in the future.). Unburden allows it to work more as a HO sweeper, but I did not give it any boosting moves to force it to activate it with Sub + a Atk boosting berry : it stills loses the 1v1 vs the Sovereign, dealing min 45.9% with Drill Peck at +1 Adamant vs offensive sets (Acrobatics is omitted from the movepool on purpose) but could be interesting for cores trying to overwhelm the Sovereign.

Pokemon: Reoozeiclus
Type:
1755109110855.png
/
1755109095049.png

Abilities: Poison Point / Magic Guard | Regenerator
Stats: 110/65/85/115/85/30 (490)
Movepool: Same as normal reuniclus, just without Ice Punch or Hidden Power and with Acid Spray, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave and Toxic added
Movepool Highlights:
Physical.png
: Body Slam, Hammer Arm, Knock Off
Special.png
: Acid Spray, Energy Ball, Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, Psychic, Psyshock, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave
Status.png
: Acid Armor, Calm Mind, Encore, Recover, Substitute, Toxic
Flavor: In the marshy lands where Lindwallow reign, there have been a small population of Reuniclus that were brought there by some of the first human settlers to the area. Due to a lack of easily accessible clean freshwater lakes, they were forced to raise their young in the muddy waters, leading to their liquidous bodies becoming murky and even more toxic than their brethren elsewhere in the world.
Weight: 20.1 kg
Explanation of Role: Slow and bulky special attacker that can spread poison against physical attackers, except for Lindwallow themself who will mostly be running non-contact moves even if it isn't using natural cure. Charm sets could act as a pseudo check to choiced Lindwallow sets, but one bad read from the Reuniclus player could make it have to try eating a now super-effective ground move. Also I just really like Reuniclus so I wanted to sub it.
Appearance: Same as normal reuniclus, just slightly more brown

This submission is VETO due to its particularly high stats and setup being particularly harsh to future Pokemon, I would reduce its stats slightly and remove two of the options of swords dance, calm mind or will-o-wisp to keep it in a state to where it isn’t extremely oppressive to non-sovereigns, and only slightly strong, as it has a lot going for it.

Otherwise here is a few movepool pings, and while flavor moves can be added the slate after in your submissions, it is preferable that it is done now
needs some more moves, you can expand its options slightly as its stats are particularly low
Erm. My bad!
Double ping but only filler is needed here besides the veto

This will go on for 24 hours or whenever the veto is fixed!

SLATE 2: more stuff (+ hazards)

As we don’t really have much, particular interactions with other mons aren’t important, but I do think we are missing something that is a little important, being hazard interactions. The sovereign in particular has court change, so keep in mind this when submitting. But otherwise it’s just a generic slate, but more hazard-y

There is a sheet now, link here and in the main post, to check what we currently have! Be sure to not overlap roles if possible, as roles are pretty important in the development of this meta.

Also we have a banner now ! Courtesy to ME (and cyaneedle for sovereign art)

Anyway submissions will be open for a week! Same rules, (up to) 3 submissions per post.

Erm. Where subs.
:sv/klawf:
Pokemon: Klawf
Type: Rock
Abilities: Solid Rock / Hyper Cutter
Stats: 70/100/150/35/100/75
Viable Moves:

Stone Edge, High Horsepower, Trailblaze, Knock Off, Temper Flare, Crabhammer
Special.png
Lol
Status.png
Stealth Rock, Swords Dance
Full Movepool:
Klawfsexactmovepool
Flavor: klawfsexactflavor
Weight: klawfsexactweight
Explanation of Role: stealth rocker that can bust through defensive mons, also a very solid receiver of stat passing. Does however have no way of breaking the sovereign easily, and can be difficult to invest in every place it needs it at once. Doesn’t like status chip either. But overall a solid rocker (get it)

Pokemon: Dualifer
Type: Dark
Abilities: Regenerator
Stats: 60/100/85/70/105/60
Movepool: Aura Sphere, Baby-Doll Eyes, Bulk Up, Ceaseless Edge, Charm, Dark Pulse, Dazzling Gleam, Encore, Fairy Lock, Fake Tears, Focus Blast, Foul Play, Fury Cutter, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Iron Head, Knock Off, Light Screen, Memento, Moonblast, Night Slash, Pain Split, Perish Song, Play Rough, Protect, Psychic, Psycho Cut, Psyshock, Sacred Sword, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Slash, Smart Strike, Spirit Break, Substitute, Sucker Punch, Taunt, Tera Blast, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Toxic, Trick, Trick Room, X-Scissor
Weight: 5 kg
Flavour: Blindsided 2
Explanation: Regen spike stacker, can hit the sovereign for good damage, but also doesn't want to take a hit from the sovereign. Spike stacking could easily backfire on this.

Abilities
: Emergency Exit
Stats: 75/90/140/60/60/40
Potentially Viable Moves:
Physical.png
: Earthquake, Explosion, First Impression, Gyro Ball, Lunge, Poison Jab, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Rapid Spin
Status.png
: Curse, Rest, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, Toxic
Full Movepool: Forretress movepool + first impression except: Body Press, Light Screen, Pain Split, Reflect, Toxic Spikes, Volt Switch
Flavor (Optional): Forretress has learned to zoom (sometimes)
Weight: 125.8 kg
Explanation of Role: the hazard man. hates to take earth powers from lindwallow and cant do too much back but can poison it or set hazards on it. also has emergency exit that wont trigger specifically on sheer force lindwallow which can help you pivot around and use first impressions but cant help vs that set.

:sv/passimian:

Flavor (Optional): Passimian has learned to play soccer, plant grass (and clear fog) to fit it in galar.

Pokemon: Creepitaph (Creepy + Epitaph)
Type: Ghost/Dark
Abilities
: Cursed Body / Tablets of Ruin (aka worse Intimidate)
Stats: 80/58/65/107/70/112 (505)
Viable Moves :
Physical.png
N/A
Special.png
Hex, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Power Gem, Heat Wave, Giga Drain
Status.png
Toxic, Will-O-Wisp, Encore, Pain Split
Other Moves :
Physical.png
Shadow Claw, Astonish, Lick, Payback
Special.png
Hex, Night Shade, Ancient Power
Status.png
Curse, Confuse Ray, Spite, Rest, Sleep Talk, Protect, Endure
Flavor : Ghost that carries its own grave on it's back.
Weight: 40 kg
Explanation of Role: First Spinblocker of the meta, that can take advantage of Lindwallow (and other mons)'s status spreading to clean the game with Hex. It can check Reoozeiclus in Lindwallow's place so the Sovereign can stay healthy, spread status by itself with Toxic and Wisp, and use a fast Encore to lock foes into setup or bad moves.

The bulk is mainly on PhysDef so that Tempesra can serve as good spinner vs Creepitaph (which then struggles vs Lindwallow). 107 SpA fails the 2HKO with Shadow Ball on Tempesra without additional items, and even with Power Gem you lose the 1v1 without chip (it deals between 56 and 66% without a boosting nature). We can then have other spinners with more bulk/different typing that can struggle more vs Creepitaph.

pidgeot.gif

Pokemon: Talonsquall
Type: Flying
Abilities
: Inner Focus / Rough Skin / Gale Wings
Stats: 78/98/71/84/85/116 (522) (Talonflame but +16 SpDef, +10 SpA, +17 Atk and -10 Spe)
Viable Moves :
Physical.png
Brave Bird, Drill Peck, U-turn, Double-Edge, Frustration, Steel Wing, Flame Charge, Thief
Special.png
Aeroblast, Air Slash, Hyper Voice, Incinerate
Status.png
Roost, Defog, Tailwind, Taunt, Noble Roar, Recycle
Other Moves :
Physical.png
Dual Wingbeat, Fly, Wing Attack, Quick Attack, Flail, Giga Impact
Special.png
Hurricane, Swift, Hyper Beam, Ember
Status.png
Sunny Day, Feather Dance, Growl, Endure, Protect, Rest, Sleep Talk
Flavor : Convergent form of Talonflame, that relies more on their brute force than on their Fire attacks.
Weight: 24.5 kg
Explanation of Role: Ground immunity that cannot reliably check Lindwallow since it can't invest into every stat : invest into SpDef and you lose to Dragon Darts or Rock Tomb, invest into Def and you get 2HKOed by Fire Blast and Power Gem. If you switch into a Ground move, you can then chip the Sovereign with U-turn, use Noble Roar to stall it or use another move to predict a switch-in.

You could also not care about defense and play it with a Choice Band to force Lindwallow out, however you can't get a clean OHKO on it (dealing between 71 and 84% with an Atk boosting nature), and Lindwallow can easily you destroy you on the switch (or at least chunk you really hard) with any non-Ground move + rocks + minimal chip.

Talonsquall can also check future Fighting/Grass/Ground mons and remove hazards with Defog (you can't really Defog in Lindwallow's face however). Recycle is an additional option to get your boots back after getting hit by Knock Off.

Pokemon: Spactory
Type: Steel
Abilities: Sturdy/Unaware | Heavy Metal
Stats: 100/95/100/95/90/20 (500)
Viable Moves:
Physical.png
Earthquake, Explosion, Foul Play, Gear Grind, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Rock Blast, Rock Slide, Seed Bomb, Stone Edge
Special.png
Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Earth Power, Flash Cannon, Overheat, Shell Trap, Steel Beam, Scorching Sands
Status.png
Iron Defense, Spikes, Switcheroo, Taunt, Thunder Wave, Toxic Spikes
Full Movepool: Block, Endure, Fire Spin, Fling, Fury Swipes, Gear Up, Hard Press, Harden, Hyper Beam, Incinerate, Leer, Magnet Bomb, Metal Sound, Mirror Shot, Protect, Recycle, Reflect, Rest, Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Sandstorm, Self-Destruct, Sleep Talk, Smart Strike, Smog, Substitute, Torment, Wide Guard, Zap Cannon
Flavor: A spike factory. There is a monkey inside but you can't see it.
Weight: 745 kg
Explanation of Role: Steel Type. Gets hazards up and tanks some hits. Sturdy lets it function better on offensive teams, while Unaware helps it slow games down to deal more hazard damage over time. Heavy Slam is decently strong against most things, but only reaches 60 BP vs the sovereign unless it gives up a more generally useful ability. Has a few niche moves that let it lure or weaken Lindwallow, but it will usually just want to set its spikes.

didn't have any immediate ideas so i waited until one came and it didn't. so instead i sat down and thought about what i would want to sub for a while

Pokemon: Alrath
Type: Steel / Ghost
Abilities: Soundproof / --- | Motor Drive
Stats: 97/91/78/78/107/43 (494)
Viable Moves: Poltergeist, Shadow Bone, Gyro Ball, Iron Head, Will-o-Wisp, Recover, Bullet Punch, Shadow Sneak, Stealth Rock, Spikes, Teleport
Unviable Moves: After You, Astonish, Autotomize, Block, Boomburst, Brutal Swing, Charge Beam, Confuse Ray, Destiny Bond, Double Team, Electro Ball, Endure, Fling, Frustration, Heavy Slam, Hex, Hyper Voice, Iron Defense, Magnet Rise, Memento, Metal Sound, Nasty Plot, Night Shade, Phantom Force, Power Trick, Protect, Rain Dance, Reflect, Rest, Return, Reversal, Rock Smash, Round, Sandstorm, Screech, Shadow Ball, Shock Wave, Sleep Talk, Snore, Spite, Substitute, Swagger, Swords Dance, Tackle, Take Down, Thief, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Wide Guard
Flavor: based on the alram clock. garfield punched it so hard that it died
Weight: 1.36 kg
Explanation of Role: Again the power level might be off but this is a general special wall and hazard setter. This does check Reooziclus pretty hard which you could argue we might not need since Lindwallow can do this but Regenerator would give it a lot more longevity over a longer game. Plus it's not like Reooziclus can't run Shadow Ball if it wants to hit this. Attack stat isn't super high but it's kinda similar to Ferrothorn where having moves with a high base power can make up for it to some degree. Worth note that this thing's Gyro Balls will be noticeably weaker than Ferrothorn's so it's not a flawless comparison but Poltergeist should be fine enough on its own, albeit maybe a bit easy to PP stall.

This Pokemon does notably get Will-o-Wisp which means that Lindwallow, despite being a good check, will be encouraged to run Natural Cure if one of the things it needs to do for a team is check this. Lindwallow can also force it out and is able to come in on basically any move that's not Will-o-Wisp and it can't Will-o-Wisp a Lindwallow that's already in since it's slower. And...yeah this thing can get Court Changed on. Nothing to deter that.

Pokemon: Dualifer
Type: Dark/Fairy
Abilities: Regenerator
Stats: 60/100/85/70/105/60
Only veto would be dualifier, I do not believe this should have the fairy typing, remove it and it should be fine. With it being the second fairy type with capability to 2HKO lindwallow with stab play rough, along with its ability to easily switch out and heal off chip, removing the fairy typing here would give lindwallow a bit more breathing time vs it.

Edit: ice beam gotta go too

Anyway votes up once this is resolved or after 24 hours
