I always hate how there is luck involved in strategy games.

For example, take a look at these clips from Counterstrike 2, otherwise known as Valve's latest cash grab.


Chess is also completely infected by luck. For example, Magnus Carlsen would never lose to a player ranked below him, except for when Hans Niemann used his powers to destroy him.

And by powers, I'm sure you know what I mean.
 
what percentage of strategy games can be considered chess-likes? is it just 1v1 tile-based board games, or can it be any competitively focused strategy game? can non-games be considered chess-likes? are arguments chess-likes? after all, they too are competitively focused and multiplayer. is there truly any end to the influence of chess, the phenomenon that transcends time and space?

imo chesslike games are games with perfect information set on a grid where players take turns moving pieces, where each piece moves and captures other pieces in a relatively simple way
