Dang, I haven't even had time to finish the five stages of grief over no mega marshadow and suddenly gen10 tera build leaks are coming out.
Anyways, focusing on the dlc megas that we can talk about here:
-While I expected some mons with megas to potentially get second megas, I figured it would be mons like venusaur and blastoise (not so much because of pattern completion but because until the datamine there was no sign of them showing up in base game). Absol, Garchomp, and Lucario are... fine, I guess. At very least Absol deserves to a second shot. Garchomp deserves a better looking mega but I think it would be funny if its stats are similar to regular mega chomp, just a different type or something. Lucario also hopefully changes type.
-Not disappointed that no other starters got megas. They can get something special in a future legends game.
-Mega chimecho is so funny, I hope it looks awesome.
-Disappointing that we're getting a bunch of gen 9 megas but no more gen 8 megas. Maybe it's partly to make up for no special tera forms other than ogerpon and terapagos.
-Alola gets more love than Galar, but 2/5 are Magearna (or 2/4 if Zeraora gets added to base game before the dlc comes out). Golisopod is a nice pick, Crabominable... not what I would've gone with, even if I was trying to give some love to kooky mons.
-I am surprised there is no mega hoopa, xerneas, or yveltal. Ok, Hoopa has Unbound form, but Zygarde gets a mega so it's not that crazy that Hoopa could also get one. Could also have been interesting to give bound hoopa a mega, instead of unbound. For Xerneas and Yveltal, I guess even GameFreak couldn't bring themselves to unleash mega Xerneas on the vgc community.
-Not new megas, but the scrubbed dex entrees add the missing latis and weather trio. I haven't seen anything about whether the primal forms might make it in (e.g., scrubbed slots in the item list corresponding to the orbs), so I'm curious if there's anything to glean about that from the datamine.
Overall, fine enough list, but other than Darkrai and Zeraora (which may be base game anyways) nothing jumps out at me as a definite want for an in-game team. Will have to see the types and designs for sure.
