I like Pyroar, but the Mega does feel like kind of a miss to me. I get that they went for the obvious route of leaning more into the kanji mane idea, but the execution just feels… mundane, and the huge size of the mane causes its face to get swallowed up in the design.
I personally would evolve them and give them around 530 BST with stats redistributed for more specialised roles. Maybe make Sage a fast physical attacker, Pour a fast special attacker and Sear a slow bulky attacker. I even think there's a perfect naming convention to use for them. Gurusage, Gurusear and Gurupour since they are the three wise monkeys. Could even give them unique abilities called speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil.
That contest was from 2016 so it's kind of outdated. Someone on Reddit did a poll recently and now the least popular Pokemon is... oh, it's Simisear again.

The dex entries are enjoyably wild - the whiplash from Dragonite's "oh this Pokemon is so loving, even when it decimates you it will do it with mercy <3", Starmie's "oh btw, it now has legs cause it wants to assimilate into society" Emboar's standard "it loves its friends and will protect them" to Dragalge straight up being able to give you cancer..

“Mega Sol Cannon” is just Pokédex flavor. It’s a nickname that people in-universe use for Solar Beam when used by Mega Meganium.
Honestly given how even regular Scovillain at least partially resulted in Drought getting banned from NU even I think that mon with actually all around good stats (which a Mega could provide) has a lot of potential to be the kinda mon that Mega Houndoom wanted to be as the "Sun mega if you didn't want to use Zard Y" provided they put the stats in the right places and make it keep Chlorophyll. Ofc you never know but still.

For the record, I'm still super skeptical about this or at least think it's incomplete: Not only is there no Heatran/Darkrai/Zeraora but I would also be extremely surprised if there isn't a Mega Hoopa. IF this is accurate though...
-3 more "duo" megas is a cool idea for a DLC set in an alternate dimension, I wonder what their nomenclature will be. Z? A? X/Y with the OGs being renamed accordingly?

I'd also say that the trio we know about were left off on the assumption we get them outside the dlc

It was really weird how there were just sketches with a crying flygon with stink lines and big arrows pointing at it going loser
Not a fan at all of Mega Pyroar. They just extended its mane upwards. Stupid.
Also I swear Mega Clefable reminds me of a certain Japanese mascot character whose name I forgot ATM.
