Open Setup Classic Mafia - Game Thread

I know it’s probably just the culture here or whatever but I am going to go against the grain and really try to treat each game I play independently. Metagaming around what people have done in previous games seems to be the way things are around here, but I feel like that creates too many big brain inferences that actually end up being wrong when we should just be focused on what’s happening in this game. A what have you done for me lately kind of mentality. So yeah I made it to late game last time and I was mafia (and not as active until mid game) but I don’t think that should have any effect on how people are reading me this game

But that’s just like, my opinion man

i agree to an extent but also celever should be careful townreading you off vibes when you just made it to final 5 with celever off of vibes

i do think the "they play like X normally but now theyre playing like Y" is silly most of the time though
 
I think the difference is phoopes in the previous game didn't really give an inch, he was quite defensive. in a very calm and chill way, but on reflection he was defending himself a lot

phoopes has already thrown out a "my b" where it wasn't really necessary to even assume some kind of guilt and for me that's 180 level difference even though the actual tone and vibes are almost the same between both games (bc I imagine that's just his personality)
 
I didn’t make it to final five last game off vibes I made it because I’m good at the game

Ftr it is completely valid to not use meta yourself, and youre right it can be wrong as any reading method can

I am not even really meta reading you personally, I don't believe in meta with small sample size because meta is a trend not isolated games - which you haven't played as mafia enough to have a trend yet. That being said you didn't do a lot to get cleared yet, and even if you are town I thinkl you should question if people are reading you town for the correct reason or if you are being pocketed.

So it is not a meta read in how you play, it is more so a comment on, you are able to play well enough to not get shrug cleared for minimal reasoning

the only thing that makes you not like super lockl clear is that I could see you being mad at the community being afk even if you were mafia, because I would still be mad if I was mafia just a bit less so

but I do think you are town because of how you went about the eod too and the powerlessness vibes

my reasons arent really emotional tbh, i think its reasonable that a scum fairy fakes emotions towards eod1 but pinging everyone feels unnecessary. i also have other non emotional reasons that i will not cite for big brain reasons

that's interesting

if you're town and not meming I have a feeling we have the same big brain reasons and we've applied them to different players

I think you can work out the strategy I've worked out, hard to know if you have or not
