ITHI VS MIXNITE - ORAS FIGHT NIGHT I

Prelude:
This matchup needed to happen and it’s a good start to this “series” (for lack of a better word), which I hope will bring us bi-weekly epic showdowns. What better way to start us off than with a mod battle? They may have revived the ORAS forums, but there’s gonna be no revives in this one! How many Dragonites will we see? How many will be mixed? How many Volcaronas will we see? Are they gonna be dancing? Questions on questions… let’s dive in!

The Prediction:
Mixnite vs Ithi

The Reasoning:
Now, this is a surprisingly cool matchup. We have Ithi, the theorycrafter, prep-head, self-proclaimed genius. Then we have Mixnite, who I see as less of a prepper and more of a player type.

Now, I don’t want to discredit Ithi as he has been deeply involved as a manager in ORAS PL and led his team to a solid performance, beating the best team in the tour (us) in week 4. I’m sure his impact on the OU slot’s performances can not be understated, as he is an active teammate with good input from what I can tell.

HOWEVER, Mixnite is the one who has been playing in ORAS PL and, within two BO3s, got a 3-3 record vs two super strong players. I think, especially in a BO3, taking games off highly regarded players, let alone a full set, is always impressive. Regardless of how the series‘ turned out, and regardless of any rng, this is not easy to pull off and as a result I give Mixnite the edge in game. I have seen much less gameplay from Ithi recently, which doesn’t have to mean anything, but that makes it hard to argue otherwise.
While prep is an often underrated factor, I don’t know how much prep is even going to go into this. If Ithi does go hard in prep, this brings it closer to 55/45 in Mix‘ favor in my books. I’m leaning towards 65/35 otherwise.

Very curious what we’re gonna see on Saturday, I know I’ll catch it live.
 
Both Ithi and mixnite are my guys and I dont want either to lose but if I had to pick one

Ithi vs mixnite

Ithi and mixnite are both pretty equal in skill level but I give ithi the edge cause his prep is like really good, but I wouldn't be surprised if mix wins that guy is one of the most lucky mons player of all time and ithi has a habit of choking and getting unlucky

It's honestly a toss up on how this goes but I do think ithi has the slightest edge here like 51-49

Also if mix doesn't bring mixnite in any of the games he auto loses.
