SPOILERS! Legends ZA Data Dumps - Adding Info to OP

Considering that datamine has revealed Gholdengo as one of the returning Pokemon, I’m curious if Gholdengo will have a in-game mechanic to replicate Good as Gold similar to Aegislash and Regigias. Gholdengo is definitely one of those Pokemon whose design is based around its ability- A built in status immunity would suffice. Not sure if it will be that impactful in real time battles, based on what I’ve read about Z-A Royale.

Most likely no. Stuff like levitate Eelektross is way more defining, easy to implement, but was not.

Gholdengo does not need Good as Gold to be Gholdengo.

I'm a bit disappointed in Diancie being mystery gift mostly because I just liked the roll of in-game Mythics we were on. Would've been nice to have it be available always & from the start. Especially since Hoopa will, like Keldeo & Meloetta, probably be just part of the DLC. Who knows how Volcanion turns out.

I have no strong feelings on Mewtwo.

Would be nice if they're at least like Pecharunt and just always available after the event starts until the servers die.

Speaking of Mythicals, the leaked list of returning Pokémon sure does have a lot of them. Darkrai, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Hoopa, Volcanion, Magearna, Marshadow, Zeraora, and Meltan. It’s obvious what about half of them are doing here since they’re either Kalos’s own or are getting Megas, but the Gen 5 Mythicals, Marshadow, and Meltan? Surely they won’t all just be regularly available as well? But that also seems like a lot of “returning Pokémon” slots to spend on event-limited Pokémon/HOME transfers.

(Also, wouldn’t this be the first time that Mewtwo is programmed into a game that Mew isn’t?)

Marshadow, Meltan and Genesect weren’t available in SV, so I guess they’re transfer only just so they don’t go too long without being available. Keldeo and Meloetta feel a bit random but I guess they kind of fit Kalos’s vibe.

Keldeo feels like it's here because the other 3 musketeers are also here.

I'd say that Meloetta is here to finish out the set, and then following on that all the Gen 7 mythics are here since Zera & Magearna are and Marshadow feels kinda sorta relevant.

But then we remember Victini isn't here so......who knows.

Meltan and Melmetal are interesting in that they raise the possibility of finally being able to evolve Meltan outside of GO, especially now that we have the HOME Dex completion reward for the Let’s Go titles.

I forget, did the datamined snippets for the DLC include hints at new or returning items that aren’t in the base game? I’ve always been partial to having the Metal Alloy that evolves Duraludon also work on Meltan, but I can also see a new item dedicated to that purpose.

Thank you! So that rules out the Metal Alloy, but not a new item, of which there are several more than I would have expected.

I’ve also been wondering about Gimmighoul and Gholdengo, since their material from SV isn’t included. Will there be a brand new item to collect 999 of, or will they have a completely new evolution gimmick?

It just hit me that Meltan and Gimmighoul both have in common special GO mechanics, so perhaps they will have a special gimmick for evolving them in this game.

That's a good question. I doubt we will have to collect dozens of Meltan or Ghimighoul coins. So giving some new item to evolve both would be nice. It would also be the first main series game where you could evolve Meltan.

With so many mythicals being apparently available in the DLC, I sure hope they allow them in ranked, and not just as a singular special season toward the end. There's no casual mode, so if they don't add one in the DLC then you're pretty much forced to make three whole friends if you want to use mythicals in free for alls. :P

My best guess for a possible reason we're getting so mythicals is that its a straightforward variation on ORAS's legendary encounters without feeling too much like a rehash, especially since we just went through the legendary shoehorn rodeo with Snacksworth. Of course, that assumes they are obtainable naturally in game -- it could be that most of them are in as ranked rewards (and if so it would extra annoying if we can't then use them in ranked!!) or more Mewtwo/Diancie situations. e.g., the new items could be mythical pecha berries items that unlock quests.

We know at least there's rogue battle data for mega Darkrai, Zeraora, and Heatran, so hopefully those will be obtainable in-game... because if all I get is a mega stone for a Pokemon I still need to transfer over... :|

People tell the joke about Serebii and Victini being the only 2 Mythicals absent after SV and LZA:MD due to being favorite Pokemon of a certain Website Owner and his wife:-D

When do you think we will start getting any more info about Mega Dimensions?

I would suspect somewhere November. A necessity if you're releasing in December, but honestly even a January release would benefit from showing some early info 2 months prior.

Some believe it will be released right after Pokemon Day 2026 which seems a bit late IMO. Also makes one wonder if there will be only 1 part of DLC (Nothing says otherwise for now)... There's also Champions release in-between.

For now, we are missing offcial art for most of new Megas.
