Most likely, as mentioned, through Pokémon HOME next year. The only other possibilities would be an event distribution or a post-launch patch of some kind, but we would have no way of knowing such things were coming.

I recall seeing Serebii say that each size form can indeed be an alpha. I would assume that they would differ visually, but I can’t personally say that for sure.

the catch a jumbo pumpkaboo quest giver says outright that you can't really tell what variety an alpha is, thus why she doesn't accept alphas for the quest.
