Project RU Teambuilding Lab [Submissions Open]

hihi!! could i request a team built around ou battles on pokemon showdown, using an all arounder jirachi? alternatively/as well, could i request a team built around an offensive giratina? i'm super new to teambuilding and i have no idea what to do!!
Hi! Thank you for your request! We need some clarification though. We can build a team around Jirachi if you wish, however this is RarelyUsed, so Giratina is not usable here, ask in the Ubers forum for a team with it. If you want to play OU then you should ask directly in the OverUsed forum.

Requesting a team built around sd lycanroc dusk (sv ru)
Approved by Rarelyme.

Here's a Sword Dances Boots Lycanroc paired with a pivot Incineroar team I built for scl.
:Lycanroc-Dusk: :Incineroar: :Gastrodon: :Zapdos-Galar: :Jirachi: :Reuniclus:

The idea of this offensive core is to knock off the item from hippowdon or slowbro and burn them or using parting shot to lower stats from the opponent's pokemon and let a free sd for lycan. I chose to play boots on lycanroc in order to keep his hp as high as possible. Incineroar may be an unraked mon on the vr but has a great niche as a pivot with good support moves and being able to check two big threats like bisharp and armarouge.

:Gastrodon: I wanted to use stack hazards to take advantage of incineroar's knock off and help lycanroc breaking/cleaning game, so i chose Gastrodon as a water immunity and electric immunity and a good physical wall. Tera ghost helps to spinblock and gives Fighting immunity. 68 EVs in special defense allows to be 3HKO from Basculegion-f Modest shadow ball.

:Zapdos-Galar: Then, i wanted some speed control, ground immunity and a way to punish defog and that's why gapdos is the best choice here+it gives a pivot pokemon in order to have more opportunities to set up lycanroc. The tera steel helps for hilligant mu and gapdos mu, in one hand it gives ice resist and in the other one it gives flying resist.

:Jirachi: I needed a steel mon with stealth rock, I prefer this jirachi instead of a registeel because of U-Turn but also because it baits Volcanion and Basculegion-f in and heavily damages them with thunder. I chose to play Air Balloon in order to be immune against spikes the first time and gives a ground immunity for Mamoswine match-up. Tera Dark gives a Ghost and Dark resistance for Krookodile, Basculegion-f/Gengar and Mimikyu match up.

:Reuniclus: For my last mon i wanted a Fighting Resist and koff absorber in Reuniclus with Colbur Berry and Magic Guard to be immune to hazards. 44 EVs in special attack allows you to OHKO Krookodile after a layer of spikes. I went with a fast Reuniclus in order to outspeed Gastrodon and Calm Mind Slowbro in order to win the Calm Mind war.

sorry!! i didn't realize giratina wasn't ou legal! is it still possible to have a team built around jirachi, or maybe altaria, i think altaria fits more into ru? (unsure though)

No problem, newcomers are always welcome. However this might not be the right thread for you since it is more so made for people who are at least a little familiar with RU. I would advise checking out this thread where you will find everything you need to know about the tier and a bunch of links to good teams, some of them even feature Jirachi (but not Altaria since it is not viable here). Have fun exploring!

Requesting a team around Wo-Chien, with the condition of not using Registeel alongside it

Had enough of Regi 2 gens ago
Hello! It's been a while but here's a team for you: https://pokepast.es/f2a4733e7950a0e8

The idea I tried to work around was since a lot of the fairies left in last shifts regidrago can have a lot more freedom to spam his dragon clicks, to just turn him into the strongest clicker possible I threw on specs and surrounded him with a bunch of guys who can help him paralyze stuff Wo-Chien specifically is quite nice here as he helps out as an emergency check to offenses foul playing/stun sporing them with tghost being a good way to neutralize smth like gyarados once he gets going and flipping wochs fight/bug weaknesses into resistances. The EV's are to be able to always tank 2 +2 bisharp iron heads from full with the rest going into sp def. The other sets are pretty straightforward, maybe bike being the most notable being on boots instead of the usual assault vest. With the entire team grounded i wanted bike to be able to spin without worrying about hazards himself so much so made that choice instead. I hope it does well for you!

hi!! requesting a gen8, OU legal team built around lunala! if possible i'd also like jirachi in the team however if that's not viable im okay leaving them out!

Hi there. This is for the RU tier, we do not build OU teams here in any gen. They do have a SV OU Teambuilding Lab here but we only build RU teams here. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hello! Since Gyarados has been banned from SV RU, I want to build a fire water grass core around feraligatr. It’s my favorite water starter and Ive seen some interesting sets(Tera electric Tera blast for example). I want a balanced team as that’s my preferred play style. Thank you in advance!

Hey thank you for your request, here is a balance you might like:
:feraligatr::slowbro::registeel::cyclizar::lilligant-hisui::mimikyu:

This set is, in my opinion, Feraligatr's best way to reliably break past its multiple check bar Chesnaught (which still hates to come in on a boosted Liquidation) without being completely useless against faster archetypes and too reliant on its Tera. I added a rather classic defensive core with Taunt on Cyclizar to trade with Suicune and prevent setup from our fat Psychic-types. Hisuian Lilligant is one of the best sweeper in the tier right now so I wanted to include it since it can benefit from Feraligatr's breaking power. You can use the last slot to cover some important threats such as Armarouge, Hisuian Goodra or Krookodile but can also add some speed control. I tried something in between by adding Mimikyu which helps a lot against offensive teams and can scare off some of the previously mentioned Pokemon. You can add Entei to get your Fire Water Grass core but I wouldn't say this kind of structures are that interesting right now in RU, feel free to dm me about it if you want to. Keep in mind the meta is pretty new so bare with me if the team ends up struggling in a few weeks, it should however be quite solid into the majority of good structures popular today. Hope you like it!

Requesting a team built around this

Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Psychic Noise
- Thunderbolt
- Aura Sphere
I tried 5 different teams but they all FAILED so I'm hoping the rarelyused teambuilding lab can save me and help me defeat RU tyrant feliburn in RU Cup Round Three.

Hey Lyra, here is what I came up with:
:jirachi::chesnaught::noivern::gengar::hippowdon::suicune:

I went for a balance centered around a slightly different CM Jirachi set from the one you suggested; I think Grass Knot is quite important and more versatile than Thunderbolt since it allows you to use a different item and tera because you're not as weak to Ground-types compared to your set. Chesnaught/Hippowdon/Noivern is the defensive core, I've been using SpD Hippo quite a lot recently and its works very well so have fun with it. Gengar is here to clean after Jirachi and help the HO matchup while Suicune helps against Basculegion and brings more special pressure as well as good sequences into stall. As usual with my teams, I tried to get a decent matchup into nearly everything so it should work well on ladder and in tournament.

hi, now that my baby gapdos is gone from ru (im a bit late ik) im looking for a new hstack team, built around sticky barb reun. the rest of the set doesnt matter to me, just that. thanks :)

Thank You Rare! Thought I must ask, is this team intentionally rock-less?

It is but you can put them instead of Ice Fang on Hippowdon if you really want them. I don't think rocks have that much value this gen without significant knock off support which is why I tend to not add this restriction to my builds when there is already one form of hazard.

requesting a HO team featuring redidrago
:mew: :regidrago: :bisharp: :armarouge: :gengar: :lilligant hisui:

This is a remake of an old team I had, but it still works pretty effectively. The main feature of the show is ofc the regidrago. DD regidrago is probably the only regidrago set I would consider due to not having as many consistency issues as other sets. This one in particular is using sub tera ghost, which can potentially 1v1 registeel once it teras. This is due to the fact that heavy slam is 40bp, which can only do 12.9% max to it, which means on average, you need 3 heavy slams to break a sub. This means you have a lot of time to click earthquake against it and fish for a crit, but you beat it regardless ngl. This means we can do a lot greedier bisharp set, as it doesn't need to have something to take fighting type attacks, and thus we can use the extra power of tera dark. Rest of the team is pretty standard, endure armarouge can stop opposing sweepers, NP colbur berry gengar can deal with special walls like umbreon and a-muk for armarouge, and hilligant is a beast. Hope you have fun with this team!

:reuniclus::chesnaught::empoleon::cyclizar::gardevoir::flygon:

Hello! This is a fine Hazard stack balance which could work with Sticky Barb Reuniclus. This request was pretty difficult since hazard stacking teams need to rely on spamming Knock Off to ensure the efficiency of the hazards, however with Trick Sticky Barb you don't really want to use Knock Off and accidentally remove this item. Anyhow you have your hazard stacking core in Chesnaught and Empoleon with Cyclizar to remove the ones on your side and Reuniclus to relieve some pressure off of Chesnaught and check Fighting-types. Gardevoir is the wallbreaker and has nice entry points thanks to Cyclizar and Flygon but can also easily switch in on common threats like Slowbro or Noivern. Flygon is the cleaner and speed control but also acts as the Ground and Electric immunity. I hope you like it!

hi, thanks for the team. now that i think about it it doesnt make sense to use sticky barb and hstack as u do need to knock off a lot usually. would you recommend any changes if i were to remove the sticky barb but keep mguard? or just keep the team as it is and remove trick for something else like calm mind? thanks again!

Hi! The easiest change would be to replace Trick with Calm Mind and use Leftovers instead of Sticky Barb like the Smogon Dex set. You could also replace Reuniclus with another Fighting resistance like Talonflame which would add more pivoting and therefore help Gardevoir break. You could also have a Stealth Rock setter which would free a slot for Flip Turn on Empoleon but could leave you with type weaknesses.

Requesting a team around cb terrak, some volt turn stuff maybe
:terrakion::munkidori::jirachi::gastrodon::krookodile::talonflame:

A volt turn team built around Terrakion, as requested. I'm a big fan of pairing Munkidori with every fighting type in the current meta, especially one with as strong an earthquake as Terrakion. They *need* to switch in their steel type vs Munkidori, but then you just u-turn into Terrakion and click close combat. Also scarf Munki outspeeds +1 Lilligant, which is very important. Krookodile is another great mon to pair with Munkidori because it also threatens steel and poison types. This team really needs a ghost resist, and Krookodile fills that role well. Jirachi, Talonflame and Gastrodon are a good backbone to add to any offensive core. Since Krook is the rocker on this team, that frees up a move on Jirachi for either wish or a paralysis. I went with body slam because ground types are kind of a problem for this team and so paralyzing krookodile comes in handy, but thunder wave could be better because it's got a 90% para chance instead of 60%. Talonflame is hazard control in a pinch, but more importantly it's got good resistances and gets you momentum with u-turn to bring in one of Munki or Terrakion.
