SPOILERS! Legends ZA Data Dumps - Adding Info to OP

Can't wait for them to finally address why the hell Magearna is so Ultimate Weapon/Eternal Floette-coded. Teraleak had no evidence for it being a Z Version remnant so I'm glad we're (probably) getting this closure, especially given this game already doing a sick Alola-related loredrop with its mascot

I mean that assumes it actually gets addressed in anything other than "these two things are similar, how interesting!" like I believe is the case with Diancie and the sundial.
It's even possible the mega is a "bonus" quest like Diancie is in the base game.

I wonder if these megas will also get cute little videos like Hawlucha, Victreebel & Malamar. That'd be nice.

I’d bet on Lucario for sure, it’s the poster boy for megas and they can show it with Korrina. They’ll also probably want to show off at least one of the “Z” megas. Could see Absol as a possibility too.

Hopefully the other gets a cute video. Could see Scovillain suiting one of those well.

I think a good way to handle the new mega would be to make it kind of y shaped. So maybe you'd like, make the fins more prominent, kind of like wings that jut out a but. And you could demphasize the legs a bit by slimming them down or bringing them in. And make the tail pretty long. but give it a little bob at the end. And since Garchomp "X" is land based, we can take this time to emphasize that it can fly around too, so it should be air borne to really make the silhouette pop. But just making it Dragon/Flying would be weird, so maybe we can give it Levitate!

The problem I feel is that not every one of those Pokémon is the ace, just a couple as far as we know for now. (Larry's is debatable considering Staraptor is his Gym ace but not his E4 ace.) This discrepancy might lead to only Geeta showing off a Mega in the anime or possibly no Pokémon League member at all, especially if Poppy and Rika remain out in the cold.

Also I know some of BB E4 also got MEgas now with Lacey and semi-Amarys (her Ace is Metagross but Skarmory seems more inconic for her).
Maybe the anime will take the opportunity to give Crispin a Scovillain which I never understood why he didn't get in the first place...
 
Though this does assume we'll be seeing AU versions of characters. We know Something is weird about Ansha and her similarities to Diantha, but the Hyperspace Lumiose doesn't seem very normal in a way we'd probably expect of a mirror world or general AU. Heck there's a question of what's even going on with the hologram trainers we see.
 
One thing I'm disappointed about with the DLC is that level 100 mons will finally have an in-game challenge, which would be perfect for getting to use level 100 mons sitting in the retirement HOME, but compatibility is not scheduled for at least 3 weeks following the DLC release. It sure could've been sweet to finally get to use that level 100 shiny Zeraora from the IoA raids during the story, but I guess it would just be too game breaking if we got to battle level 167 Alolan Marowak with it. :psygrump:
We should just be satisfied with getting to use it in ranked once it becomes legal alongside primal Groudon. :/

Well, I'm going to try and hold off playing the DLC until HOME compatibility arrives so that I can play through with Marshadow and maybe the aforementioned Zeraora. Unless it turns out Marshadow is a save bonus that you can get basically right away. I may have to finally open that copy of Tears of the Kingdom that I bought on sale at Costco forever ago and never got around to playing...

in the section of the overview trailer where the narrator talks about mega chimecho, you can see the player going up against an ace trainer who isn't a hologram at all, unlike the annihilape trainer in the main trailer.

and ansha doesn't really look too much younger than poppy (who is apparently 9 years old somehow), so i think it's more likely that she's straight up baby diantha rather than her daughter or anything. that alone obviously's not airtight reasoning, but it also kinda just feels like the type of thing that gamefreak would do.

I mean tbf apparently Tierno had a younger sister we just happened to never see before who couldn't have been younger than 10ish years old when XY happened. Also the aforementioned Benga, who was likewise never hinted at in BW1. Not like this really matters a lot but Ansha is comparatively easy to explain, she would've basically been a baby when we first met Diantha
