Pokémon Presents - Pokémon Day 2025 - Pokemon ZA Info & Pokemon Champions Announced

Calorie counting with Hoopla wasn’t on my bingo card, neither was exceeding the Level 100 cap.

Official website has updated with a few things, hints at the new girl and Hoopla being able to make donuts that probably allows Hoopla to summon Groundon/Kyogre.

Well that's how we get the primals, then.

I was still on a season = a month, since Delphox takes most of it. But sure, not all.
S4 will begin around December 18th, so it’s really only a week after the DLC is out

I don't see a distribution end date for Diancie at first glance, so I guess this is a Pecharunt situation where it'll just always be around for as long as the servers are up. That's nice.

also they showed off Canari's art

also "revealed" the mega starters and eelektross. The renders are whatever, but there's some extra design details that aren't in the dex
In the right dosage, this substance can calm the feelings of those who smell it, but breathing in too much can cause agitation instead.
It’s also grown stronger at physical combat and can step on and crush foes that its Solar Beams don’t work against. Its fighting style has grown bolder thanks to Mega Evolution.
Its emotions are constantly running high as a result of Mega Evolution, and when it gets into a battle situation, it will relentlessly keep challenging any enemy it sees. Mega Emboar tends to act on its own and take things too far, so it takes a skilled Trainer to handle it.
Mega Evolution has given it tremendous power both in its muscles and fire energy. The higher Mega Emboar’s spirits are, the more intensely its fiery beard burns. This Pokémon gets so fired up that the tip of its serpentine spear can burn as hot as 18,000 degrees Fahrenheit!
It also helps the Pokémon dissipate heat better. Mega Evolution causes a rapid increase in body temperature. Mega Feraligatr can emit heat from its dorsal fin, cooling itself down.
or reasons unknown, Mega Feraligatr’s dorsal fin resembles Totodile’s head—leading some to call it a “Totodile mask.”

One theory suggests that Totodile’s head is shaped optimally for biting, and Mega Evolution gave Feraligatr this “Totodile mask” in order to restore its biting power. But it’s unclear whether this is true.
The electrified mucus emitted by Mega Eelektross forms gelatinous, Eelektrik-like shapes at the end of each arm, collectively called “false Eelektrik” by scholars—the left one being “Eeleftrik” and the right one “Eerightrik.”

The false Eelektrik give Mega Eelektross improved stability when swimming. It can swim almost twice as fast as it could before Mega Evolving.
(oh my god eeleftrik and eerightrik)
Most electricity that Mega Eelektross generates goes to the false Eelektrik flanking it. That electricity is powerful enough to stun and paralyze Pokémon as massive as Wailord.

When Mega Evolution wears off, the mucus that formed the false Eelektrik melts away and disappears. However, it can be preserved in its jelly-like form through freezing. Some people put this preserved mucus to new use in beauty regimens or strength training, though it’s not clear how much benefit it yields.

Since Mega Dimensions was indeed December it furthers my thought that Champions will likely be January, presumably alongside the Home update. Who knows, maybe we even get a news drop about it later this month, but I can see them talking about it around the time Mega Dimensions drops instead. They could maybe show off another mega, and then show that off in Champions.

The Japanese website had a few extra blurbs on the new megas the english side lacks. Machine translatoin is...well it's about as stiff as you'd think, but cliff notes seems to be:
-The hilt appeared on its chest, which helps adjust the center of gravity of the increased blade length
-It "concentrates ice energy" through the chest as well
-Ice energy flows through its whole body and muscles for better reaction time and power. Seems to note it hit its optic nerves too. Always love weird details like that. Just "hey btw"

-Chimecho's sound waves repel evil spirits and soothe people
-It can also generate intense sound waves strong enough to disorient and induce forgetfulness.
-Even if you win in that state, you're still left in shell shock

Hope someone does a proper translation of these or they add them to the official english website.

So in addition to the starter megas, the official site also added Mega Eelektross. I didn't notice it in the trailer, but maybe it was in a quick shot.

Korrina was looking better before she took off the coat. That get up is a little bit too busy. And Hyperspace Lumiose looks cold, that coat would be more useful!! (Well, maybe Hyperspace Lumiose is just grey, but it looks cold to me).

It also sounds like Hyperspace Lumiose is more segmented of a map, since not only do we need to go through Hoopa portals, but in some of the shots it looked like the edges of the area are cut off like the edge of the portal. Maybe eventually it will be a full map, but it might just be pockets (which if so hopefully we get some nice hallways with special mons in them :p ).

:quagchamppogsire: First Impressions on Mega Zeraora:

Cool design motif but they look too similar to Luxray ngl (there's already people pointing it out about it). Also crazy how we now have a 3rd pure electric mega. People's hopes of it being electric/fighting are thrown to the trash :blobsad:

Its one of those Mega Hawlucha designs where you need to compare base forms. It has paw spikes a la Lucario (ironic, since it wad compared to Lucario a lot in the past as the cool furry mon), extra tail scarf, the blue fur parts are more jagged, the head one especially turns into a horn, etc. One interestingnpart is the legs, where it seems he traded his fluffy pant like design for smooth, leggings but also making them blue without changing the zags too much makes it more striking. Part of me.wonder if its meant to evoke more of a Raiju in appearsnce, in whoch case its ironic its lumped between teo Raichus in the same batch of releases.

you know taking this

and building off this. There's actually FOUR of them because of Eelektross (though that one presumably keeps levitate so I get it).

It is bizarre that none of these three DLC electric megas added an extra type at all. Like it doesn't even have to be fighting. But like...anything to help break it up a bit?
If not zeraora at least one of the Raichu because I feel like that should be the appeal of doing a "split mega" in the first place

Honestly, I think it bothers me less with Zeraora than it does with the two Raichu, because, while I’ll grant that two examples isn’t exactly a “pattern,” it is nevertheless true that there was a common thread with the X/Y Megas in how Mewtwo X and Charizard X gained new types while their Y Megas remained the same. Even though they will still be differentiated by their stats (and hopefully their Abilities; God help me if they’re identical on that count as well…), I would have expected Raichu’s Megas to have followed suit on type as well.

I really think Mega Raichu Y should have been tooled into Mega Alolan Raichu and maintained its psychic typing. It would have provided at least one more dual electric and it would have really driven home the point that different regional forms of a mon don't share megas. :P

As for Mega Zeraora, I want to defend it from the point of view of it being good for mythicals not named Mew to get some spotlight and availability in later generations, including getting gimmick forms. We're not going to get a Legends game for every mythical, so this is the most realistic form of justice for most mythicals who were little more than FedEx deliveries in their debut generations. Zeraora deserves a mega, and hopefully a few more mythicals will get some too. Keldeo should have gotten a gigantamax in Crown Tundra, and they should have kept the Victini event and given it a gmax too.

As I said in another thread, I think Mega Zeraora should have gone a bit further in distinguishing it from regular Zeraora's body shape, but I'm glad it exists. (I just wish HOME connectivity were dropping with the DLC so that we could use the level 100 shiny Zeraora they gave out).

I mean there's Home maintenance scheduled for the 26th so it might be.

I guess nothing is truly impossible but they already announced it as 2026 and I would think that if the update was going to have Z-A added to it sooner than expected they would have announced it as much. 3.4.3 is likely just another minor bug fix/stability/maintenance update like the last 2.

Also there doesn't seem to be a switch update to go with it, which is kind of the most relevant portion.

I also kind of think it would be a 4.0 update? BDSP/L:A accompanied a 2.0, SV was for 3.0. Z-A's a whole game rather than DLC so that'd track.
