Tournament OUFL II - Commencement

As the person who was supposed to get picked as manager but didn't due to Host's errors,
Kek

in interest of still promoting the spirit of this tour (allowing newer players to actually slot in lu and play), how about we allow 3/3.5 picks from oupl auction to still be part of the playerpool?
This is a good idea considering this OUPL is being played by half of smogon and also other people can try playing different gens that they won't be able to do it in OUPL. But I was talking with some undrafted friends and i noticed it can be a bit unfair so...

You can discuss if some places in OUPL are deserved or not, but they are still in OUPL and if we let every 3k and 3.5k players sign up, it might affect people that didn't get drafted in OUPL. So probably limiting each team to draft 4-5 OUPL players max should be good, it's better for the farmers league to keep the level similar to lasts editions, that helps more people that want to improve. Ofc with the same restriction that original sign ups, just with the oupl price thing.

I also like what veti said but that would affect people that want to play and learn another tier.

we wanna sign up young goats so dm either me (astralys.) or Cow (cow3492) or Leroipolux (leroipolux) on discord and send us whatever we will reply take the chance there is no reason not to

Probably the worst picks i have seen in a while. Other managers also dmed me after seeing the results. I'm sad that 1LDK can't manage the tour again after **reaching playoffs last year** and he has been waiting for the last 8 months, ig we have to manage SPL first or prepping randomguy123 for their BWPUAAABD game (just win by act) LOL. Maybe this is a complot of kyurem fanbase to not let manage Lost this, can't think on much other reasons. For next time we will include what we had for breakfast everyday, how many times I sneezed and blinked for the last 7 months, that i'm 1,80 meters tall (5'9 for the freedom guys) and my top 10 feminism books oat.

Ignoring that, rootings for my friends @ Blacephalons, reshirams, clodsires, ryan leroipolux...

Haha react me or whatever you want, i'm not trying to change the results, just sharing what i think. I'd feel as bad as I feel with 1ldk now if one of my friends loses their place so don't misunderstand.

Also i want to propose banning unc zinnias from managing tournaments after having the shittiest name i have seen ever in a teamtour LOL. Snubbele makes it again, hf twins
Can someone tell me where to find the discords of the teams for the tryouts?
Thanks in advance xoxo

OUFL has been a fantastic experience for me last year (once again thanking 1LDK and FFK for drafting me, was a really fun ride), and I’m really hoping that every player drafted will be able to have an equally good if not better tournament than I did both enjoyment and growth wise.

With that said, I would like to shed some light on some fellas I believe would not only greatly benefit from this experience but also be cool additions to their teams. While you may want to take my list with a pinch of salt since I’ve mostly stuck with players I know and have appreciation for, I remain convinced they would all do great.

In addition to being one of the most adorable users I know, Oya/Semort is undoubtedly a player to watch following his top 8 finish at the most recent SM SSNL. He is currently on my team for the FCPL (French PL) and has distinguished himself as one of the most active players on the team, always thorough in his preparation and ready to lend a hand to his teammates, whether as a starter or from the bench.

Aaah, Owany, another user which I believe would deserve a shot in this tournament. While he doesn't have any notable results in this tournaments' tiers, he remains a massive grinder when he sets his mind to something (someone get my guy out of SV Ubers ladder pleaaaase) and should be able to provide a lot of activity from the bench.

Ashleao is a pretty good SS player, definitely underrated outside of the French community, and I think he would do great as a SS2 slot. His building skills combined to his ability to cleanly pilot in gen 8 make him a reliable element that will be able to bring consistent results, as proven by his currently undefeated record in SSFL(3-0).
He also made it to top 6 of OU SSNL in like 2020 or something, which might give you an idea of how well he can perform when locked in and motivated.
Oh and he is adorable too

As long as he doesn't mix up his PM and AM during scheduling, HATS is actually a pretty cool player ! He's had a good performance during last season, winning a game with chestnaught and landing a good record during FCL a year ago too.

While I don't know much about oras, I think Noaa could definitely be a great pick in this tournament as displayed by his encouraging 3-3 record in ADPL. In addition to being a great person, he's got a nice margin for improvement and could definitely be worth a shot during the auctions, whether you plan on having him start or playing a more supportive role.

Since picking up SS during retro cup qualifiers, Genhui has shown quite a lot of improvement during the last few months, leaving me quite optimistic about his ability to become a really good player. He has DM'ed me several times in order to review his games and has always shown great humility and openness to criticism in spite of being lectured by a nobody (and we all know how the glitters accompanying your name affects how people can behave in front of you). This killer mentality makes me a firm Genhui believer, please draft him.

Probably one of the last maniacs that still has the willpower to play on the SS ladder, a feat that on its own should earn ILoveGarchom a special kind of respect (or fear ngl). The lando non-believer is also clearly one of the most active players in the SS discord (I see his name everywhere ffs) and I really believe his dedication can eventually turn him into a great player. Please draft my guy so that he doesn't have to constantly play against the 3 same maniacs (and the occasional Ox alt) on the ladder

What Sulfura28 may lack in experience, being a really recent player, he makes up for by relentlessly signing up for every damn tournament you can think of, leading him to claiming some nice wins against renowned players in Masters.
As a player, he is full of promises. As a teammate, I believe he is the type of 3k end-of-auction pick that you just can't go wrong with, as his dedication alone might be enough to justify his price tag in a tournament where many players' activity ended up being underwhelming last year.

I’d also like to do this for mainly ORAS. Most of these ppl are definitely getting picked, but I’m not sure they’ll start so consider this more of a push for them to start, not just get drafted. All of them are super underrated and ones I’ve personally seen perform exceptionally well.

He didnt sign up OUPL to play OUFL, and while Im sure he will start but I still want to boost his price since he rarely reaches out himself. On top of being a great support, guy brings extraordinary ORAS knowledge and one of the best chat presences Ive seen. He's been performing well across every tour he has played in which includes most recent ORAS Invitational Play-ins, Retro Cup, Masters League, and Seasonals and what not.
He is also versatile enough to slot outside ORAS too, having come just one win short in both Masters 1 and 2. TL;DR: with his ability to build, support, and pilot cleanly, even if one was to completely ignore the oras slots, with him around it would still excel. Like dropping a legendary Pokémon into a Route 1 encounter, X-0

MahTheBot definitely deserves a shot as a starter and would make a great ORAS2 pick. I honestly didn’t even realize he played ORAS beyond always being involved in the scene, but after finding out recently, he’s genuinely impressed me. Currently sitting in top 8 (or 4) of Last Chance, he’s proven to be a strong pilot who can hold his own against tough competition. I consider mah support reliant but with proper support, he could easily perform well throughout the entire season.
Extra: I would recommend picking him up alongside ImperialH, since the two already have great synergy - Imperial knows mah as a player which is excatly what mah needs to excel. they’re basically the bread and butter combo any team would love to have. He’s shown he can play other tiers too, but I’m really hoping to see him stick to ORAS

Man, where do I even begin... I really hope Genhui gets picked as a starter. One of the most enthusiastic and eager-to-learn players I know, with an amazing presence. I could genuinely show a million screenshots of him expressing his passion for improving - always asking for feedback, reviewing his games, and taking criticism in stride.
I’ve watched him play countless times, and every single time he comes back stronger. I truly hope he gets drafted in a good learning environment and uses this opportunity to evolve even further.

This one’s super underrated and absolutely deserves a shot here. RoyalNGR recently qualified for the ORAS Circuit despite only joining the Championship and Cup, where he made top 8 or 4 in both, taking down some seriously notable SPL players along the way. He’s not particularly support-reliant, but I can easily see him thriving even more with solid team backing.
He’s active, chill, and very involved in the community - overall just a great presence to have around. And yeah, that’s just his surname, he’s not racist :row:

Is it just me, or does this guy sign up for everything? DKM can play pretty much every tier and does it well. While I’m not too familiar with his prep process, I’ve watched plenty of his games, and the guy can definitely play. His experience, presence, and overall involvement should be more than enough to make him a valuable addition here.

Another super underrated pick. While I’d say his support and building stand out even more than his actual playing, there’s no denying he can hold his own in battle. Beyond that, Waffleztastegood is a fantastic builder - I’ve used his teams multiple times and they’ve always performed great. And don’t even get me started on his chat presence, one of the best around.
I wouldn’t slot him as a starter, mainly for the reasons above, but he’s absolutely a must-have sub and an invaluable support piece for any team.

I might be wrong but i feel t.t does not show the same level of passion or care as some others (lol), but there’s no denying he can play. If you can get him engaged which honestly isn’t that hard, he’s capable of doing good in both SV and ORAS, speaking from experience. Beyond his skill, he’s a fun and positive presence to have around. I’m not entirely sure about him as a starter right away, but he’s definitely a strong and reliable player when he’s locked in.

Also can y'all believe Horii and typical_bastard was somehow not picked in OUPL LMFAOOOO #slimeOUPL

I second what was said above regarding DKM and not just because that's one of my OGs. DKM has played for a long time and I've seen him make insane forward progress as a player over the years. Really proud of my bro for that. Honestly, if it was between me getting picked or him, I would rather someone take him and give him a shot.

That being said, I would like to play for SM. Being on the same team as DKM would be great since the two of us would go crazy and me and him can build some fire again.
