They referenced Volo because they were referencing L:A as a whole and he had a really easy "in" for it. That's it! That's the entire reference to Volo!
Even the little out of context screenshot of wondering about the temple showing up in hyperspace was just Ansha relating the temple to sinnoh's legendaries as maybe being able to find Rayquaza that way, to which Korrina jsut humors about "maybe, if it was part of the temple!". It's as relevant a "hint" as the fact they spend about as long talking about the big tree in valerie's town.

I’ve seen a video of someone encountering Cobalion, so I think they’re all there through the special scan method. But special scans seem pretty grindy so I’m not surprised that there aren’t an abundance of reports from players yet.

If anything, I think it kinda feels instead like a tiny bit of foreshadowing for the Hyperspace Sky Pillar area where you battle Rayquaza. Spear Pillar, Sky Pillar… both ancient sites with similar names where you find Legendary Pokémon.

Now the new question ig is whether the donut's sparkling power and shiny charm affect them, as well as if they're fixed when you enter or can be reset with portal flying.

Supposedly they're RNG whether they even spawn or are extremely annoying

Funny if do. Urbain/Taunie gets 4 Megas (I wish they switched their Goodra and Avalugg into Hisuian ones). Korrina has 6 Mega Team which is awesome (I would've changed Medicham to Blaziken/Emboar though) while half of NPC keep 5 Pokemon, while Mani and Josee don't get a single Mega?

Yung Dramps looks like Tatsugiri leaves no trainer area:-D

After years of griping about XY's nonexistent difficulty it's honestly an incredible coda for a new Kalos game to have a grind-heavy DLC featuring superboss Mega legendaries that break the level cap and trainer rematches that mog Red/Cynthia/Kieran

Grind-heavy is one way of putting it when I've been at or just near level 100 since clearing out the infinite royale for Taunie and nothing in Hyperspace gives exp.
