Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
(Banner coming once I stop procrastinating)
(Idea shamelessly stolen from Reddit)
The rules are simple:
Every seven days (at midnight on Sunday, GMT-6), submissions will be open until midnight on Friday, GMT-6. Users can submit additions to this team via this thread, whether they are legal in SV OU or not.
When the submission period is over, I will open a Google Form where one can vote for as many submissions as they like, and the form will close 24 hours later.
The submission with the most votes by the time the form closes will be put into place. If there is a tie between two or more submissions for first place, then all of those submissions will be added.
If I cannot reasonably implement the submission through Pokepaste, I will try to find an alternative method.
I reserve total veto rights in case I can’t do a submission, if fulfilling a submission would get me banned for any reason, etc.. In this scenario, I will choose the next most-voted for submission.
Final note: I don’t feel like waiting until next Sunday to start this, so feel free to post submissions now
As our first mon, we need a mon that will carry our team through blood and hardship. With this in mind, my suggestion will be the great, known and totally viable suicide lead Koffing. More specifically:
nothing says says that the submission has to be just one pokemon so have an r"m"t Low Kick Dragonite + GholdPech Hazard Stack (Peak 2004 83.2 GXE)
Building Process
I was looking through SPL replays and saw this team that Attribute used during week 1 and decided to copy it because it looked like something I would like. Team Members
This is the standard bulky Dragonite set but with Low Kick in place of Earthquake. Low Kick OHKOes Kingambit and if they are Balloon they will likely stay in and die. This is especially good as the team is pretty weak to Gambit. I've also used enough Speed EVs to outspeed Jolly Gambit as I had lost too many games to Iron Head flinches. I'm not sure if that makes the lower damage worth it though. I have lost games to rolls that would have been more favored or not been rolls had I used 240 Attack EVs. Other than that, it's bulky Dragonite. Tera Normal Extreme Speed is good at cleaning and dealing with set-up sweepers, as always. Dragon Tail is also nice for set-up sweepers, as always.
Assault Vest Samurott. Usually I just try to get this in as early as possible to get full Spikes, but occasionally I will try to preserve it to better deal with Gholdengo so Ting-Lu has more health to beat some other Pokemon. Tera Poison can help deal with Specs Valiant, which is pretty annoying for this team.
Gholdengo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
- Trick
- Recover
I've been told that this team is "slow as shit" but that's impossible; I have Scarf Ghold! Blocking Defog is obviously very important, and having a form of speed control that can actually deal with Ghosts is nice. (No, Sucker Punch doesn't count.) I've considered running Nasty Plot over Recover because I keep getting PP stalled by WhiteQueen's stupid fcuikigng SpDef Corviknight, but Recover is really nice in some matchups.
Switch this into Tusk. Ok, maybe do so after getting off a cheeky attack as they inevitably Headlong. Aside from spinblocking, I mostly just use this as a generic physical check that can force my opponent to do something with Nasty Plot. Also, if your opponent has Ogerpon-W (or any Ogerpon really) they will lead with it. Make sure to counterlead with Pech. If I was real I would use Sinistcha instead because Sinistcha is GOATed.
Clicks Knock Off. Decently fast. Threatens Gliscor to better click Knock Off. One play I like to make is going to this after spinblocking Tusk or Treads, as they will never spin twice. Then, you can Flip Turn to try to catch Tera + Spin, or just attack it.
Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ruination
- Whirlwind
Guy that I switch into basically every special attack. It gets up Rocks. It Ruinates everything. It phazes a sweeper in an emergency. Weaknesses Kingambit
This Pokemon is really annoying, and Tera Blast Fairy sets will rip through this team. Best to hope they don't play around Low Kick. Tera Ghost is also pretty annoying. If they Tera to either of those types, you can try to revenge kill by Teraing Ghold. You can also Tera Wake if Gambit is chipped. WhiteQueen Stall
This might just be a skill issue but I don't think I've beaten WhiteQueen once. Luckily, no one else uses this team. Unluckily, WhiteQueen ladders a lot. I think you have to lead Ghold, Trick immediately, and then after you've gotten full hazards predict every time Corv Protects? Not sure obviously, since I can't win. Those Annoying Fats With Weird Forms of Hazard Control
Basically teams that I look at and go "wow this looks like Blim 6". The matchup is actually fine; these teams are just annoying. Try to get Rocks, if they have Cinderace don't go for Spikes immediately. Replays
Go find them yourself the team's been used multiple times this SPL.
In the gen 3 battle dome there is a system where your seed is determined by the stats of your pokemon. This seeding system is glitched though where if your pokemon has too high stats, it overflows and you get seeded really poorly. With the level set to 50, this glitch only impacts one pokemon. That pokemon is shuckle who should totally be added to the team.
Apologies for the wait. I wanted to try to allow some more votes to come in, so I delayed on closing the form until now. It seems that I’m unlikely to get more submissions, so here are the results.
Since there is a tie, I’m implementing both Mathy’s and Let’s go shuckles’ submissions. Since neither were especially specific as to what I would need to do, I chose to interpret each as best I could.
looking at your profile real quick, i can see that you're really involved with pure hackmons. You probably want your team to be something you'd be comfortable with as well as show to others that you're a pure hackmons player. Unfortunately, from what I can gleam from these tiers there isn't a lot that would immediately make an OU ladder player go "WOA! Pure Hackmons", with one exception.

While some were dozing off, Slaking took the top. Here is how it happened.
Proof of Peak
After I got rank 1 I wanted to get the game amount to an even 100 so I played a few more games. Highest Elo was 2077 and GXE 91.8%, unfortunately, I don’t have a...
