Iron Treads @ Leftovers
Name: Special Tank (Ground)
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD or 244 HP / 216 SpD / 48 Spe
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Heavy Slam / Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Protect / Knock Off

[SET COMMENTS]
Iron Treads complements Ground teams' defensive cores with its Steel typing, which lets it deal with Fairy and Ice teams, and provides further utility with Rapid Spin. Heavy Slam smashes Fairy-types such as Hatterene, Alolan Ninetales, and Flutter Mane, while Iron Head deals with Kyurem and Mamoswine better. Protect lets Iron Treads scout common Choice item Pokemon such as Greninja, Flutter Mane, and Iron Valiant while accruing Leftovers recovery. Alternatively, Knock Off dissuades Ghost-types like Gholdengo and Dragapult from spinblocking and weakens Choice item users such as Meowscarada and Greninja, letting teammates such as Choice Scarf Great Tusk and Clodsire handle them better. An EV spread of 244 HP / 216 SpD / 48 Spe allows Iron Treads to outpace Adamant Mamoswine while still maximizing specially defensive bulk.

Offensively inclined teammates such as Choice Scarf Great Tusk, Landorus, and Garchomp appreciate Iron Treads removing entry hazards and checking Ice-types. In return, Great Tusk deals with the Ogerpon formes, Cinderace, and Choice Specs Greninja; Landorus breaks down walls such as Corviknight and Moltres that take advantage of Iron Treads; and Garchomp deals with Water- and Dragon-types such as Barraskewda and Hydreigon. Ting-Lu wears down the opposing team with hazards and Whirlwind, weakening Meowscarada, Greninja, and Kyurem. Water Absorb Clodsire deals with Water-types such as Dondozo, Urshifu-R, and Barraskewda as well as checking Choice Scarf Meowscarada. Unaware Quagsire checks physical setup sweepers such as Belly Drum Azumarill, Dragon Dance Dragapult, and Urshifu-R, and it further wears down the opposing team with Toxic and hazards. Clodsire and Quagsire appreciate Iron Treads's ability to remove hazards, which allows them to switch into threats repeatedly. Gliscor provides a Ground-type immunity and utility support via Knock Off, Toxic, and hazard setup. Iron Treads threatens Hatterene and Ice-types like Alolan Nineteales, Kyurem, and Frosmoth for Gliscor. Mamoswine helps with the Flying matchup, catching Skarmory, Moltres, and Corviknight off-guard with Smack Down while also removing Landorus-T, Gliscor, and Dragonite with Ice-type coverage. Furthermore, Mamoswine appreciates Iron Treads's removal of hazards and held items such as Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers via Rapid Spin and Knock Off, respectively.

Iron Treads complements Ground team's defensive core with its Steel typing—which lets it deal with Fairy- and Ice-types such as Hatterene, Flutter Mane, Alolan Ninetales, and Kyurem (you mention all of these very shortly after, I'd remove the first mention of them and just keep the 2nd. Just say Treads makes those matchups easier)— and provides further utility with Rapid Spin. Heavy Slam smashes Fairy-types such as Hatterene, Alolan Ninetales, and Flutter Mane, while Iron Head better deals with Kyurem and Mamoswine. Protect lets Iron Treads scout common Choice item Pokemon such as Greninja, Flutter Mane, and Iron Valiant while accruing Leftovers recovery. Alternatively, Knock Off dissuades Ghost-types like Gholdengo and Dragapult from spinblocking and potentially weakens Choice item users such as Meowscarada and Greninja after taking their hit, letting its teammates such as Choice Scarf Great Tusk and Clodsire handle them better. An EV spread of 244 hp (capitalize) / 216 SpD / 48 Spe allows Iron Treads to outpace Adamant Mamoswine while still maximizing specially defensive bulk.

Offensively-inclined teammates such as Choice Scarf Great Tusk, Landorus (I wouldn't mention this in the same part really, it's good that it helps with ice types, not so much hatterene), and Garchomp appreciate Iron Treads removing entry hazards and checking Hatterene. In return, Great Tusk deals with Ogerpon formes, Cinderace, and Choice Specs Greninja; Landorus breaks down walls such as Corviknight and Moltres that take advantage of Iron Treads; and Garchomp deals with Water- and Dragon-types such as Barraskewda and Hydreigon. Ting-Lu wears down the opposing team with entry hazards and Whirlwind, weakening Meowscarada, Greninja, and Kyurem. Water Absorb Clodsire and Gastrodon deals with Water-types such as Dondozo, Urshifu-R and Barraskewda as well as checking Meowscarada (either mention scarf or change example, both are fine) and Ice Beam Greninja, respectively, as long as Iron Treads keeps the field free of entry hazards. Unaware Quagsire checks physical setup sweepers such as Belly Drum Azumarill, Dragon Dance Dragapult, and Urshifu-R, and it further wears down the opposing team with Toxic and entry hazards. Gliscor provides a Ground-type immunity and utility support via Knock Off, Toxic, and setting of entry hazards. In return, Iron Treads threatens Hatterene and Ice-types like Alolan Nineteales, Kyurem, and Frosmoth. Mamoswine heavily threatens helps with the Flying matchup, catching Skarmory, Moltres, and Corviknight off-guard with Smack Down whilst also removing Landorus-T, Gliscor, and Dragonite with Ice-type coverage. (mention how mamo can switch in repeatedly with spin support and how treads can remove boots / leftovers / whatever else from defensive pieces with knock)

sorry this took a bit but looks good. I would consider removing gastrodon entirely as it’s just straight up inferior to Clodsire if you ask me, but this one’s up to you. I’d also recommend adding in a bit of what treads does to help quag in return like keeping hazards away so it can come in over and over again. 1/1 sorry again for the delay
