New Mechanics in Champions

Abilities
- Dragonize - This Pokemon's Normal-type moves become Dragon-type moves and have their power multiplied by 1.2.
- Mega Sol - This Pokemon's moves are used as if the effects of Sunny Day were active.
--> User with Mega Sol ignores target's defensive bonus in sand or snow
--> User with Mega Sol has its Water moves weakened (dhelmise)
--> Target with Mega Sol still has defensive bonus in sand or snow (dhelmise)
--> Sun-related Abilities are not activated when targeting or being targeted by a Mega Sol Pokemon (dhelmise, Hydrametr0nice), including Leaf Guard (dhelmise, Anubis) - Piercing Drill - This Pokemon's contact moves ignore a target's protection and deal 1/4 the usual damage.
--> Horn Drill is an OHKO anyway (@kakane0420) - Spicy Spray - If this Pokemon is hit by an attack, the attacker becomes burned.

- Frozen - 20% thaw per turn, no guaranteed end -> 25% thaw per turn, ends the third turn
- Paralyzed - 1/4 chance move can't be used -> 1/8 chance
- Asleep - Randomly 1 to 3 turns asleep -> turn 1: asleep, turn 2: 1/3 chance to wake up, turn 3: wakes up (no change to Rest)

- Toxic Thread - Lowers target's Speed by 2 stages, instead of 1
- Fake Out can't be selected or executed after the first turn out (@PokeMaineEvent, @shairaba)
- Encore used successfully before the target moves that turn uses the priority of the Encored move instead of the selected move (qrChar) (@shairaba)
--> Prankster does not change the priority if the Encored move is Status and the selected move was not (Hydrametr0nice, DarkFE); if the selected move was Status but the Encored move is not, Dark types are immune (@the_one_gio)
--> An Encore cured by Mental Herb doesn't change the priority (Hydrametr0nice, DarkFE) - Salt Cure now deals 1/16 max HP, 1/8 to Steel and Water (Meteordash)
- Knock Off now removes the target's item even if the user faints to Rough Skin (Glory)
- Rapid Spin now removes hazards even if the user faints to Rough Skin (Stallion)
- Dragon Cheer is now a sound move, Soundproof allies are immune (DooDMan)
- Freeze-Dry can no longer freeze (Cazenovia)
- Belch can now be selected even if no Berries have been eaten (DarkFE)
- Spit Up can no longer be selected if the user has no Stockpile count (DaWoblefet)
- First Impression can't be selected after the first turn out (abkwreu)
- Mega Evolution no longer overwrites previously modified Speed from Speed Swap (caratroc)
- Burn Up can no longer be selected if the user is not Fire type, Last Resort can no longer be selected if the user hasn't used all its other moves, Stuff Cheeks can now be selected even if the user has no held Berry (Zaggyo)
- Thief now steals an item even if the user faints to Rough Skin (Hydrametr0nice, DarkFE)
- Ceaseless Edge still does not set Spikes if the user faints to Rough Skin (Hydrametr0nice, DarkFE)
- Unseen Fist - This Pokemon's contact moves ignore a target's protection and deal 1/4 the usual damage.

- Trick Room's >1809 Speed overflow doesn't exist (DaWoblefet)
- If the game would auto-select Struggle for the player's right Pokemon in Doubles, you get the option to switch or click Fight (DaWoblefet)
- The Own Tempo Baton Pass bug doesn't exist (DarkFE)
Lying Move Descriptions/Classifications
- Rage Powder is still a powder move despite not being displayed as one (u/ImposterDittoM)
- Draining moves are still prevented by Psychic Noise despite not being displayed as healing moves (Hydrametr0nice, DarkFE)
- 33% recoil moves still deal 33% despite saying "1/3" (Hydrametr0nice, DarkFE)
Probably Bugs
- Parting Shot VS White Herb asymmetrical info (DaWoblefet, 2)
- Fake Out fails to make Mega Charizard Y flinch (DaWoblefet)
- Competitive sometimes causes a softlock (DaWoblefet)
- Gigaton Hammer can still be used during a turn it gets Encored and Disabled (DaWoblefet)
- Disguise breaking during a multi-hit move also makes the remaining hits neutral regardless of type (@Pokesol_info)
- Mega Sol Growth fails silently without raising any stats (u/GimoTheBeast)
- Spicy Spray brings up an immunity message when it fails to affect a Fire type (aim) and fails silently as usual in other cases (Hydrametr0nice, dhelmise)
- Outrage sometimes fails for unknown reasons (Team Rocket Elite)
- Weather Ball's display in the Fight menu sometimes shows Normal even during weather (dhelmise, Anubis)
- Parental Bond attacks don't display the "hit 1 time" message if the target is knocked out with the first hit (ry4242, Hydrametr0nice)
Acknowledged Bugs
- Mega Evolution happening in seemingly random order (DaWoblefet, Karthik, yotam) (fixed 2026/04/09 (DaWoblefet))
- Leech Seed's description says 1/16 but mechanically uses 1/8; the description is incorrect (TheDuckChris) (fixed 2026/04/23)
- Lightning Rod not redirecting an Encored Electric move (@NailsOU, @Doc_Dandy)
- Unnerve sometimes doesn't prevent Pokemon with switch-in Abilities from eating their Berries (DaWoblefet) (fixed 2026/04/23 (?))
- Choice Scarf doesn't change switch-in Ability activation order (Jorijn), unless hazards hit the Choice Scarf holder (DaWoblefet) (fixed 2026/04/23 (?))
- Sitrus Berry sometimes doesn't activate (Maintenance Notice) (fixed 2026/04/24 (?))
