The idea of this thread is to provide a visual list of what Pokémon does what in the ADV OU metagame. This will help new and experienced players alike in finding Pokémon that fit their teams when looking for specific roles, as well as help players build more diverse teams by not always using the same Pokémon to fill the same role. Each Pokémon on this list are here based on their viability in the OU metagame and their performance of generic or specific (niche, if you will) roles that benefit your team.

  • When suggesting things to be added / removed, provide decent reasoning as to why something should be added or removed. Things will be added or removed solely based on their viability in the ADV OU metagame.

refresh pert and dol are pretty common status absorbers due to their ground typing and ability to selfcure
miltank should prob be listed under paralysis since it spams slam and twave
moltres should be listed as an agility sweeper, mielke won with it in spl this year
duskull would also make sense to add as a wisper and spinblocker if it ends up ranked on enough vrs
 
First off, tthis resource is fantastic, thank you so much for making it! Now, for some suggestions!

Jynx can run mean look to trap Blissey
Gardevoir can trap mag with trace
Mag will sometimes run Sunny Day instead of Rain
Dol will sometimes clear weather with Sunny Day

Maybe consider adding and explaining Beat Up users? Dug/Houndoom/Charizard

I don't think you added refresh pert and claydol, unless I'm blind ( which I admittedly am sometimes :p)

I've also seen CB Moltres, which feels it deserves to be up there if we're including CB Zap
Also CB Lax exists
Also Blaziken absorbs Wisp
Quagsire absorbs t-wave
Quagsire can run toxic
Quagsire can run haze
Quagsire is a rock resist
Quag can absorb status with rest
Smeargle sometimes runs Endeavor
Bold Suicuine is a physical wall
Roselia can run Aromatherapy
Snorlax can absorb twave and wisp with rest

I'd add Suicune and Quagsire as Physical Walls. Suicune isn't much of a mixed wall unless it's calm and gets to boost its SpD.
Unsure about Armaldo's role as a defensive pokémon, you could argue it's both a physical and a special wall.

P.S: any chance we can have a Knock-Off or Item Remover category? Armaldo, Hariyama and Sableye aren't unheard of and Alakazam learns it as well. If we decide to list them as all item removers, Skarmory and Heracross would be nice additions
 
Thanks for the suggestions, y'all. We decided to add a Common Rest Users section and remove the Rest Pokemon from the Status Absorbers section, since nearly every Pokemon learns Rest and can absorb status with it. Let me know what y'all think. I also really liked Endill's item removal section idea, so I made that as well.

I went ahead and added stun spore Breloom, refresh mence, rest molt, and rest and roar phan.

Some of the other requested changes are a bit too obscure/niche for inclusion on here. For now we aren't adding a bulk up section, but that could change in the future. Thank you for the suggestions as always!
