6. Latinoheat: 98 / 74 / 112 / 107 / 90 / 63

we were also considering it hitting atleast 115 special attack, most likely a 2hko. Something that has the risk of taking 50% plus on the switch in is not a counter.

10. Time Mage: 45 / 55 / 115 / 105 / 115 / 105

(i copied and pasted and it came out weird).

Anyways, I voted pretty much on the SpAtk stat. I don't want this pokemon to be too overpowered offensively, so my votes consider the lower SpAtk stats.

couldn't have sayd it better. =D

BTW, what are we NOT giving this thing when it comes to moves?

We are not giving this: the already mentioned sleep move, any attacks besides its ordinary STAB moves, and stat boosters such as Growth or Nasty Plot (although Howl as a +1 Attack boost may be a possibility). These decision all have no regards to the art.

EDIT: And for the last time, Tyranitar is NOT a counter. -_- It is merely a "check," meaning if the opponent has a Tyranitar, they should have an easier time dealing with the Fire/Grass Pokemon because, for example, they can bring it in on predicted switches/revenge kills (and I'm not going to lie, I seriously despise the term "revenge kill").

Yes.

Erh...somehow I don't quite agree with this statement.

Nasty Plot, no. Growth...maybe but only because it work flavor wise. Howl, erh...I suppose it can work. Monitor lizard do make a low growl/hiss when angered.

So basically we're giving this, if Aldaron and Mekkah's spread wins, Godly defenses but no offensive movepool to speak of, save Hidden Power, Grass Knot/Energy Ball and Fire Blast, and we're going to gut support movepool too. We're also going to be doing this to Art that for some reason doesn't scream huge defense/meh offense.

Somehow I doubt this.

Agreeing. This will get a lot of Beam/Cannon attacks. We can get rid of Ice Beam and Hydro Pump, but most other Beams will stay. Overheat (and possible Leaf Storm) fit very well based on the art. Most recoil attacks will also be there, because of the Armor and a possible Rock Head trait. Luckily, besides Focus Blast, we can stay away from Fighting moves; no hands removes Focus Punch for sure (Togetic learns it, so Kiss needs to) and possibly Brick Break. And are you really that opposed to it learning Iron Tail and such?

For support options, the art basically removed all Powders (still has WoW though), Leech Seed, and... I guess Ingrain. It can still get screens and can still get Synthesis/Morning Sun. Taunt, Encore, and such all still fit it.

The main issue with non-STAB moves are Rock, Ground, and Ice. Other than those, the non-STAB moves aren't much of an issue.

I also think this may be able to use some powders, like Stun Spore, but not Sleep Powder. This being a balancing issue moreso than anything else.

If we made it a third evolution with Elagune's other little critters though, I can definitely see the first form shooting little seeds out of its mini cannons, including Leech Seed. Leech Seed wouldn't be that effective on this anyway. With 120 Base HP, you're starting with 381 HP, you'd barely be able to hit 9% HP regeneration from LS if you seeded something with 90 Base HP.

Essentially it would have shifting Level-ups like Chimchar. The first form would learn Bullet Seed and Leech Seed, the middle form would learn Barrage and Seed Bomb, and the final form would learn Solarbeam Wood Hammer.

I am merely reiterating what we have discussed in several topics before this. I'm pretty sure all of what I stated would make complete sense if you were either participating in the discussion or have went back to read the logic behind these choices. =\

Also note how I said that those "decisions all have no regards to the art." I think it is obvious enough there will be cannon-related attacks. Physical attacks that have no appeal in the metagame like Iron Tail may be included, if anything.

From the Part 7 (which I have quoted twice already =\):
I thought we established that appearance has little to do with neither type nor stats?
The only thing the art has the most (but not total) influence over is the movepool. The art does not restrict us from giving our Pokemon odd choices, as Gamefreak themselves have made odd choices such as Grass Knot Starmie, and as such I think this Pokemon can have a few exceptions. Even then, things like Leech Seed are easily justifiable, and this Pokemon probably uses Leech Seed the same way Sceptile does (in other words, I have no idea).

EDIT: The cannon idea works, also.

About the Beam/Cannon based moves, does anyone have a list of them?

Lesse *looks at Octy movepool*:

Aurora Beam
Bubblebeam
Bullet Seed
Charge Beam
Dust Shoot
Energy Ball
Flamethrower
Flash Cannon
Hydro Pump
Hyper Beam
Ice Beam
Octazooka
Psybeam
Rock Blast
Signal Beam
Sludge Bomb
Solarbeam
Tri Attack
Water Gun
Zap Cannon

Octillery learns all of these except Hydro Pump, Solarbeam, Tri Attack, and Zap Cannon and is basically a "Beam-based" pokemon.

Dust...Shoot? (Gunk Shot?)

Jury is still out on most of the movepool. We've already agreed that it's not going to be getting many other attacks beyond it's STAB moves, yes, but that's not a certain ruling against something like Brick Break, nor have we decided 100% that it's getting no stat-up moves whatsoever (though I do agree that Nasty Plot would be a bit much).

My votes are for the following:

  1. Lil Ant: 100 / 65 / 95 / 104 / 95 / 78
  2. Futuresuperstar: 115 / 80 / 95 / 110 / 70 / 75
  3. Hit4Three: 60 / 70 / 105 / 110 / 105 / 90
  4. Admiral_Stalfos19: 110 / 73 / 99 /104 / 99 / 60
In my mind i was shooting for similar spreads, but I guess I failed at that.

Anyway, my top choice, Lil Ant, is kind of the happy medium that I was looking for. Although, I will admit that I'd prefer a little more speed.

On Future's spread, I'd prefer a little more defenses and a little more speed. I like that it has enough HP and SPA to fuck stuff up. What I like about this spread is the higher Defense than Special Defense. It makes sense, to me, that its wood armor can absorb hits better.

Hit's spread, IMO, needs more HP. The defenses, SPA, and Speed are really what I like. At the very least drop speed to 85 and give it to HP.

Admiral's spread has great HP, defenses, and SPA. The Speed, again, I'd prefer to be a little higher.

I know we're not making another Sceptile/Alakazam; so I know the speed shouldn't go over 100. I just want a high enough speed to be able to do something should Chloryphyll not be one its abilities.
