I personally think Rock Head makes perfect sense. It implies more that the Pokemon has a hard head rather than it literally being made of rock. The armor on his head fits flavorwise, and I honestly don't think a physical set would overshadow a special set, but rather coexist with it.

I'm also not too keen on Vital Spirit design-wise. But we could always invent any kind of stupid excuse for it, pokédex entries are famous for that.

Anyway, Leaf Guard is also a good candidate for an ability. Won't make it able to switch into sleep moves, but will prevent them once Sunny Day is used.

Cannon Fodder sounds like a cool ability but the main question stopping that is whether it'd be broken on this pokemon. It's well fitting otherwise, for obvious reasons if you look at the typing and artwork. Imo, a bit smaller boost from Cannon Fodder like x1.2 would be better than x1.3

I dunno, I think giving it Battle Armor is a bad idea. This thing has huge defenses, and coupled with Leech Seed you'll need something like a CH to bring it down. Chlorophyll would make an interesting set with Sunny Day/Fire move/Leech Seed/Substitute, but considering its bulkiness I don't see it getting much use. Rock Head is a decent secondary trait, allowing you to go physical if you want. In fact I don't see much use coming out of any other weather-based trait. As I said before, Solar Power on something that bulky is downright broken. Give it Leftovers and it's losing only 6.25% per turn.

Magma Armor sounds cool though, as does Shield Dust. I'm leaning towards giving it traits that give it a small-ish advantage because with stats like that and a potentially really good movepool it doesn't need much more boosting.

I'm surprised no-one has brought up the idea of Blaze or Overgrow. Both of those abilities fit, or perhaps you can combine the two into a new ability (say one that does 1.25 boost to both Fire and Grass moves below 1/3 health or something).

Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Energy Ball.

Also, WTF happened to all the Battle Armor love? Are you rely on CHs to kill this thing? Doesn't Stone Edge kill this shit in one blow, why do you want it to take a critical hit to the face anyway.

Fire Blast and Flamethrower come from the mouth.

No Homo >_>

Energy Ball maybe = /

Because that is a cornerstone made for only the STARTERS.

Not all the time. I can image a Fire Blast coming out from it's Cannon. If Magmortor has been described using it's Fire moves from it's cannon barrel shaped hands then thing shouldn't have problems in regards to using Fire Blast from Cannons.

If that were true, it could be called broken either way.

An Overgrow/Blaze combination could be nice, but high defenses and low speed are kind of the opposite of what you need to make that work.

If we want to diversify the metagame...get ready for this...Battle Armor is against the spirit of this. How? Well, this Pokemon is weak to three types: Rock, Flying and Poison, ALL OF WHICH CARRY A VIABLE (NOW MUCH MORE SO) +CH RATE MOVE. Rock has Stone Edge; Flying has Air Cutter; Poison has Cross Poison. By removing CHs against this thing, we are preventing moves such as Air Cutter and Cross Poison from being viable against this thing. IN fact, a Scope Lens Sniper Drapion with Cross Poison (possibly a Swords Dance set?) would instantly lose credibility.
But no one is going to use Air Cutter since any Pokémon that learns Air Cutter also learns Air Slash, and Air Slash is better due to its power. I really can’t see anyone using Air Cutter over Air Slash just because you want to kill this thing with critical hits. Stone Edge is already overused and with things like CB T-Tar and CB Chomp using it, I don't think you need to worry too much about us not being able to land a critical hit on it. I only see Cross Poison benefiting from this Pokémon’s existence but I don't think Scope Lens Sniper Drapion is going to lose his job just because he can't make a single critical hit on it. Sword Danced STABBED Cross Poison is still going to hurt a lot from Drapion and switching into a CB Crobat might not be the best idea around.

lock on- All "cannon" moves accuracy is increased

Armor Shed- If below 1/4, special attack/attack/speed increase one stage. Defences and accuracy lowered one stage. This could have a seperate sprite upon activiation, but only if this doesn't get a healing move.

lol everyone seems to be talking about "cannon" moves i would think anything that isn't either physical or spores/seeds. Basically iron fist for accuracy and no zap cannon before anyone thinks that. It hits super effective against most of its counters.

Bullet Seed
Dust Shoot
Energy Ball
Flamethrower
Hyper Beam
Sludge Bomb
Solarbeam

Meh from that list those are the only things that should even be considered .The poison moves are absolutly useless as well.

I doubt this would get any use but an ability where if you are not hit the turn before your next move has perfect accuracy.Kinda like locking on with the cannons, but is put off if it gets hit.

Don't abilities usually come after movepool it would help abit.

Boosting Flamethrower removes the checks aldaron and I put on it to an extent...or, if you do accuracy, it doesn't help at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the ability is completely useless looking at that list.

I think lock-on and zap cannon should be considered, same for charge beam, they all seem like moves this thing might get. As fire using electricity is not so far fetched in Pokemon.

True to a certain extent, but it truly depends on what moves are given to it. If it can some decent special attack options like Charge Beam or Hydro Pump, then an increase in either accuracy or power would be okay.

why should it get charge beam at all,i know this has low special attack but it still hits most of its counters for SE and it has the bulkiness to get atleast one boost in.

Battle Armor: Obviously, it fits it well
Leaf Guard: Two Defensive Abilities? Why not?

Why does everything have to have an Uber awesome Ability? Scylant got Compoundeys and a Made-up Ability, Revenankh got Shed Skin and Air Lock(It should've gotten Cloud Nine Instead, as Air Lock is supposed to be a one-Legendary exclusive Ability like Drought and Drizzle). Do we really need Drought or Rock Head?

Drought- We already nerfed Rayquaza, so why do it to Groudon?

Rock Head- Wasn't it meant to be Special based in the first place?

You guys just want this thing to be broken don't you? Charge Beam, HELL NO!

That means Tentacruel, Gyarados, Togekiss, Zapdos, Crobat are no longer counters. With Charge Beam, then the Special Attack boost, Fire Blast/ Grass Knot hurts tons of shit.

Charge Beam is a move that seem this pokemon theme like a glove thus wanting this thing to learn it. I would say Zap Cannon is a less broken option for it since it's accuracy is shit, even more so in the sun. Then again, with 100 BP, 100% chance of paralyzing it target, and with it's accuracy at 50% it probably prove to be too powerful as well =/

Onto abilities, how even happened to the discussion behind Intimidate? It seem pretty threating with all that armor and blazing cannons?

Drought- We already nerfed Rayquaza, so why do it to Groudon?
How the hell does giving another Pokemon the same name on it's ability nerf the other? Golduck already had it, just with a different name. Does a name really mean so much that it nerfs a Pokemon (in an entirely different tier, btw)?

I agree that it shouldn't get Drought, but this reasoning is ridiculous.

Outside of Thunder Punch and Thunder Fang, what other electric moves does any fire pokemon know?

Magmotar does get Thunderbolt you know.
Does it now? Interesting. Still though, that's one with Thunder Fang, one with Thunderbolt, and a few with ThunderPunch. Not really much of a precedent for Fire -> Electric.

Also, I like the idea of Vital Spirit, just not sure if I like it on this guy. I'm liking Battle Armor (obv) and now Leaf guard. If only there were a good offensive ability already in existence.
